Without them they hold up to a 40 oz water bottle, with them they hold pretty much all normal cups.
Nice!
Just fyi to anyone else considering this, I bought something like this (this is just an example I found real quick) and it's been perfect. Just stretchy screen material that fits over the whole door/window portion and you can open and close the door like normal.
LED bulbs WILL blind oncoming traffic in your stock reflectors. So will a lightbar.
Best option is to do an HID retrofit. They're a little pricey, but I hear are very rewarding.
I've seen some people do LED bulbs in the fogs recently, it seems to be another decent option for increasing output.
If you want a lightbar, a 20 inch one will fit in the lower opening on the second gen bumper.
As far as rear light goes, I've never seen a full bar flush mounted in the bumper, but people have put Nilite pods from Amazon in the bumper and on the plastic corners.
Your Amazon link isn't working. What you need is something like this
The hitch is fine for this use as long as you don't try to loop over a hitch ball or just use the pin. Some people will insert the strap into the receiver and just put a pin through it; this can bend the pin, it is best to use an insert like the one I linked to.
The realistic, "not doing moab" answer is a set of the next step up in the Bilstein lineup (5100 series), something that's an improvement but not full on "I can feel the size of the gravel in the pavement" level of suspension diva... Conveniently, Amazon sells and stocks them...

Bed liner spray works great and gives it a slight texture. Make sure you mask and tape well. Oh and clean all your plastics well before you spray them, The screws on the steprail plastics might not come out so I would just paint them in place. You might wanna scuff everything up with a maroon scotch brite too to get better adhesion. Post the before and after pics

I bought a pair from Amazon and replaced my worn out ones in about 5 minutes. If you don't have someone to help hold it up when you take the old ones off, you might want to be prepared with something like a broom to keep it from slamming shut on you. Ok, I would recommend using an epoxy primer then to protect it better than this stuff. I have used a similar Rustoleum product but only on stuff that isn't really exposed to the elements. It scratches off pretty easily. So that's why I'd suggest using an epoxy primer, for better protection against the elements and the salt.

Be advised that the top half is actually fractionally narrower than 2 inches so it doesn't seat fully around the Xterra's bar, which makes the hardware too short.
you can get a code reader for pretty cheap, I have this one and it's been fine (just don't leave it plugged in because the bluetooth password is 1234 and can't be changed). the codes (on the gen 2 at least) should tell you which cylinder is misfiring
if it's a single cylinder, then I would suspect the fuel injector. if it's multiple, then I'm not sure.
I would also avoid putting a lot of miles on it; unburnt fuel from a misfire can damage the catalytic converters

As of 11/5/15, Amazon has 1 "old style" Volant CAI left, available here.
Here is a pretty solid install video (Frontier and XTerra engine bays are almost identically set up.)
Gotta do the water pump while it's open.
Also, I'd question the tensioner shoes in that kit, but just because I'm suspicious. The shoes prior to 2008 or so are known to be problematic, so if those kits have been sitting in a warehouse for a while, it's possible they are the old parts.
Edit: that kit is only the secondary chains. If you are going to pay the labor to have the whole front of the engine apart, you really should do the whole thing. Amazon has this but it's not OEM. I think I paid about that in parts when I had the dealership do mine.
I have a 2011 S model and I replaced the non-Rockford stereo with a single DIN JVC unit. JVC KD-AR959BS Arsenal Series In-Dash CD Receiver with Bluetooth https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IA9IMSA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_N0xvzb1YKQDRS
The install was very easy to do, and it was my first stereo install. I found it was cheaper to buy everything individually through Amazon, but Crutchfield may have a better deal depending on what you want. Just make sure you get all of the correct adapters.
The install won't go fast for the first time, but you'll take pride in it, and then realize there was nothing to be afraid of.
There are 4 sensors in total (2 upstream of the cats, 2 downstream). OEM sensors are NTK; best price I've found is from Amazon.

I like the plastics. It’s super easy to clean. When I deep clean my car I wipe it down with Meguiar’s All Purpose Cleaner and then follow up with 303 UV Protectant. The 303 also acts as a mild dressing. Not quite a shine, but just a nice vibrant look. I also use 303 on my tires. I love that shit.

I have painted the plastics on 3 xterra's now and have another lined up next week to do. This is the best stuff hands down, It is litterally designed for bumper plastics to be flexible and not fade in the elements (It even has a picture of an xterra on the can itself) One of the x's I did about 2 years ago now still looks great! as far as prepping, DAWN DISH SOAP! its a great de-greaser I usually use a mild scotch brite pad as well while washing with the dish soap. Then let it dry completely and it's ready for paint no primer required with this stuff. Make sure you wear gloves after you de-grease everything so you don't get anything on the plastics after. I usually go for 4-5 light coats. I remove as much as possible (bumpers, Rain tray, wiper blades, front grill) The rest I just tape off as best as possible on the car including the plastic on the roof rack. It works like a champ I usually go through 4-6 cans per xterra. This is the best stuff you can use to DIY in my opinion.
What you should look up is the Xterra mount Kit. that is what you are looking for. When replacing my stereo (2013 different console) I came across your version a few times.
It's like this one right?
That's not a belt sound...more like bearings in a pulley.
Get an automotive stethoscope and touch it to the various components to locate the source.
you need a new one of these it's a very common problem you have to replace the entire hose assembly. Also on the other hose out of the heater core there is another plastic pieces that breaks as well. That one you can just remove and attach the rubber hose straight to the heater core.
Get something like this for the glove box, but check harbor freight. I think this is $5 there

Lead acid batteries do not like to be deep discharged flat. They often take more than just a quick jump start to get going. Sometimes revving the "charging vehicle" for a long time can give the dead battery a good charge rate and help. Thicker cables help over thin crappy ones.

The Bluetooth/FM transmitters work pretty well. I've got this one in my Mera. Works well, quality seems decent enough, but it's tough to tell on 35 year old speakers. Other similar units have aux ports.
My only complaint is that my only 12v port is always powered, so I need to manually turn the unit off when I park the car. I'm 99% sure why that's why my battery is currently dead, but the car is wintered now so that's a problem for next spring. Next year I'm going to wire in a secondary 12v outlet on a relay so it'll only have power when the car is on.
I believe the 12v port in the Xterra armrest is the only one that's not always on. A smaller FM unit like the one I linked will probably work pretty well.
I have purchased this one three times (three different engines). It's the one you want.
I bought this thing; which works sorta'. First and worst, it's wobbly which is not what I'm looking for when I'm dragging heavy shit off of/on to the roof rack and second, stepping onto it is tricking and you end up a bit too high to reach the stuff on the ground that you're trying to get up on the rack.
But, it's cheap and it does work within those limitations.

go with this one I have installed 4 of these units they are great you will need to purchase the back up camera separate but those are cheap. These units are great because there are no restrictions like the "name brand" units have. You can watch movies while the car is moving etc.

"It's not bad. I've had it for about a year now, and my only real complaint is that it seems to have very little RAM and can be slow to load certain things.

Something along to this but with a tire mount bracket in the center that would sit on top of hatch with bolts to mount tire to.
Yeah you can replace just the head unit for now just don't turn it up too loud or you might blow the speakers.

This air filter isolator isn’t super nice, but it’s plenty effective. I clean the filter about every six months or after getting it dusty. Quality control is terrible. There were metal shavings inside the pipe which is insane. If you’ve ever done any diy with metal you’ll know what to look for. Worth the few hundred more for one of the other ones if you’re not comfortable doing your own QC.
The box around my filter is the most significant difference from yours, and didn’t interfere with the horn. Made replacing them a few months ago difficult, but just barely doable.
There’s plenty of room between the front badge and the radiator if you need to relocate.
You’ll want both of these:
That will give you some length to work with, and also get rid of the dumb OEM jumper, updating to the universal connectors.
Ive tried but its in a tough spot. Im gonna pick up a set of these tomorrow.
Always take a code scanner with you. I have this one I got from Amazon for $30 and pair it with OBD Fusion app…if I recall it tells you how long it has been since the last CeL was reset.
Yeah, with the outward angle I think it would throw enough light out where you can see it. I have ones similar to the ones you just linked (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LZU3DWG/) pointed straight down from where the side steps used to mount and it’s enough light I can see it if I look down. Angled out should increase that a lot.
Those magnetic ones I linked are much brighter than mine and of course you can relocate them a lot easier than something drilled.
Are you thinking rock lights may throw enough light from the open wheel well? Or to use those on the exterior of the bumper?

I mean, IDK why you're specifically asking for a generic setup on the Xterra specific setup. Just go on Amazon and buy something with good reviews and install it. there isn't really going to be anything specific to the Xterra.
The cameras that attach to the license plates work fine. I installed one that connects to my aftermarket head unit and it works fine. You'll have to splice the wires for the activation unless you set it to be on full time, which could actually be kind of nice if you are going to have a dedicated monitor for it.

For the camera if it doesn't get power from the monitor power you can use the tail light on the passenger side since there is the 12v socket there and you can splice with the reverse lights to turn on the LEDs on the camera if you want.

What do you mean properly set the bearing load? As in torque it down then line the holes up with the little philips screws? Someone just commented its something like 80-100ftlbs. If thats true im amazed so many videos of people getting these off just tapping the hole with a screwdriver.

Unless the previous owner did you right and got the $300 distributor straight from Nissan in the last 20k it’s about time. Don’t use a hammer. Have someone press that bearing in out. I used a hammer in my first 1. It’s a, the shaft bent. It’s dunzo. If you don’t have emissions tests the eBay headers work well based on butt dynos.

Flood. And these are the covers. I painted the clear set yellow with “stained glass” spray paint so they cut through snow better. Amber was too dark.
When I eventually switch to a phone without a headphones jack, I think I will go with something like this.
Wkwzy-USB C to Aux Cord for Car Stereo-3.5 mm Aux Cable to USB-C and Charge Your Type C Android Phone Premium Sound Enhancer for Samsung Galaxy S21 Note 20 10+ Pixel 5 4XL 3XL OnePlus8 7T(Grey) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08VHWBMBK/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_SYF3XCBN3FNBEHZ9R0AB
This way I can charge my phone at the same time while listening to music.
The lights in the center are Traveler 7" Pod lights. Got them from tractor supply.
In regards to the mount, I made the mount. Used a length of 3/16 inch by 3/4 inch aluminum bar stock from home depot. Used a set of quick fist clamps on the upper side for holding my ax. On the lower side I used s pair of Truss Stagelight clamps for my shovel. It offsets the 2 tools so they can be closer together and works well.
I have this tool: VXDAS TPMS Relearn Tool for GM... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072BK693N?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It works great on my 2015 but can’t speak to whether it will work in a 2006. If you do the reset procedure and use this, you’ll know which sensor isn’t working (or will sync a working sensor maybe not connected). Once you get it replaced this thing will reset/connect then without the hassle of doing the pressure change and drive around a half hour method.
UPDATE: Thanks for all your help everyone. I was able to have someone come out, cut and program 2 Keys for 300. I think I got a little ripped off has I already had the blanks. But he was quick and they worked. Either way I have some good new for anyone that needs to buy new keys for your X. These do work https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XWDPPHZ/

Feel free to message me if you have any questions, but I used an instructional I found on NewX. I would definitely order the shim kit to make sure you can get the correct clearances. The stock shims on the outside of the spider gears would have been way too thick, at least in my case. I got two kits and ended up using the largest shim out of each kit on either side of the axle gears. You could probably get away with one kit, but your cross shaft may be slightly off center.
It honestly wasn’t that bad. Getting the diff out was easy in my case because all of the suspension components were newer from other recent projects. Once you have it out you need a pretty beefy set of internal snap ring pliers to get the stub shaft out, and an impact makes quick work of removing the ring gear. You will need a roll pin punch, or a drillbit you don’t really care about to knock out the rollpin. Once you pull the spider gears and carrier out, it’s a very simple process. I was very careful with measurements to make sure I got the clearances right on the dot, not just in the range they list acceptable. There is a pinion shim set that works perfectly for this. I ordered two kits to ensure I had the right sizes, and ended up using the two largest shims out of each kit. You could get away with one, but your cross shaft may be slightly off center. Then I took those shims and drilled holes through them to match the stock shims (i’m assuming they are there to help lubricate). Getting the springs and pins to stay in place during assembly can be a challenge. They say you can use grease to help hold things in place, but I did not want to in case it would affect measurements. Assembly was simple enough. I will warn that Lubelocker Has a diff cover gasket listed for the R180, but that is not our R180. It is some Subaru/Datsun that shares the same number, and isn’t close at all. I used the green RTV (supposed to be special for gear oil) to steal mine up, and it’s been working great with no leaks at all.
From what I read yellow and orange light wavelengths goes through snow better. This is my first winter with them on, and it’s been low-snow in my parts so can’t attest to it yet.
Additionally I wanted to make sure they weren’t offensive to oncoming drivers because of my lift, so they are aimed down, the yellow takes the edge off the brightness, and the covers have a texture to scatter light horizontally.
These orange covers were too dark for my liking, and I couldn’t find yellow. Picked up the clear and painted them with yellow stained glass or sea glass spray paint.

I got some Led bulbs off of Amazon and they’ve been work surprisingly well.
Amazon. I'll copy what I posted before, but feel free to hit me with any specific questions.
It's not bad. I've had it for about a year now, and my only real complaint is that it seems to have very little RAM and can be slow to load certain things.
I have a macro that runs on my phone (Tasker app) so when I get in my truck, it automatically connects via Bluetooth, which triggers my phone to turn on it's hotspot for the dash unit to connect to for data. It's great for Spotify, YouTube, and navigation, which is what I use it for 99% of the time.
I did just get my wife one of the newer versions for her car, and it does run a lot faster: Atoto S8 Gen 2
I have zero experience with Apple car play, but it says it's compatible.
Both were very easy to install as long as you're comfortable reading wiring diagrams and soldering.
Polish your lenses and put good halogens in there. Don't be a tool.
