I got a Cosori Air Fryer, awesome device so far, cuts down on using the oven big time and everything's come out great. For oil, I just use a 100% Avocado oil spray, works great and doesn't change the flavor at all (no smoke).

I love my cosori 5 quart, it’s the basket style which makes tossing/shaking really easy

You can get an oil aerosolizer that turns your oil into a spray and then spray the food directly before throwing it in. Some of the store bought cooking sprays can mess with the coat on the air fryer basket, so it's better to use actual oil like that. I got this one
I bought this cookbook after I got my first air fryer. It has quite a few interesting recipes. It also has a lot of tips about how to use the fryer and scales for any size.
We’re a family of 2 and I still would get a 5 quart or bigger

Man, oh man! The hope you can find some. They are the best and worst at the same time.
They are targeted to kids, but I as an adult just bought some this week to eat...
I bought these spray bottles off amazon, they will mist spray your oil. Just pump even and slow as you go.
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07ZZ876WR/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_zdK.Fb8VKEFA3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I put peanut oil in one and olive oil in the other and use a combination on my crispy chicken.
The air fryer is just an oven with better convection heat, you're over thinking it.
Your best to try it with one and see how it turns out, but to be honest I'd just pre-heat and send it. You will probably not need the full package cook time. You can also dead air bake or par cook and finish them in the air fryer, which would probably give you the ideal product. Let us know how your adventure turns out.
If you want to be overly cautious you should cook some random sausages from the grocery store just to get a feel for the process. I would recommend you avoid sugary ones like honey garlic till you're more confident as they'll burn very quickly in an air fryer. When you cooking it's always best to pick something like a pen style digital thermometer or an analog probe like a Taylor pen style ones. If it's 160F inserted parallel to the thickest part of the meat you are always done.
I thought it was a toaster oven, but it is an airfryer.
But then again the reviews tell another tale.
Oh my God that is so terrible dude
To answer your question I worked in restoration. Meaning I worked with shit water quite often, and occasionally was tasked with cleaning the stuff it infected.
Basically we used this stuff called "benefact" or decon 30
It's so harmless to people the inventor of it would slam shots of it. Safe for pets too. But it's a hardcore cleaner. It will straight up eat mold out of thin air and reduce it to nothing. Would use it for everything, even at home
I'd soak it for awhile and then scrub it pretty heavily with normal soap after

Someone linked these in the YouTube comments. https://www.amazon.com/HKJ-Chef-Stainless-Toaster-Rectangle/dp/B0798JYWT9 I have this air fryer too and I love it except the trays and basket! And cleaning the inside is a bitch!
I've had this one for a few years and highly recommend it.
We have a 6-qt Gourmia and love that the basket/tray is huge and square. We can cook a lot at once in it. It’s around $60 for the newer model, and looks very similar.
Ignore the crazy price on this listing on Amazon. Just sharing the model.
I just got,the Cosori from Amazon & I love it. It almost 6 quarts. The biggest error people often make is they get an air fryer that's too small. This one is "smart" so you can control & view it with your cell phone or tablet. More info below. (This is not a paid referral.) I can guarantee that if you buy her an air fryer the oven/stove will barely be used. If you're in the UK there was a good deal on a decent air fryer yesterday for "Amazon day". Let me know and I'll dig it out.
Edit: this one here
I have the cuisinart ovenfryer - not sure its the exact size you’re looking for but might be worth taking a look. amazon link
From the looks of the crumb tray and fry basket, I believe it’s the Ninja Foodi Digital Airfryer. I just bought mine at Costco, but here’s an Amazon link:

Potato starch! That’s the secret to extremely crispy wings. I got mine on Amazon for $3.66! Some people use baking soda but to me it has a metalic taste.
Edit* ooh my amazon link was removed. Just type in potato starch and it’s the JFC brand for $3.66!
I've never used it myself but my mom has a Dash egg boiler/poacher thing she got as a gift and I have to say it's impressive how perfectly it can boil and poach eggs. I know it's not that tough to do manually but they come out perfect every time. Basically a rice cooker for eggs. But unless you cook a lot of boiled or poached eggs I don't think it's a very useful gadget to own.
I ordered an air fryer accessory set from amazon :)

Baltimore here - he's absolutely right. Do whatever makes you happy but I'd be pretty pissed with that crab cake.
Pro tip: best way to make crab cake is with the Old Bay Crab Cake Classic Mix. It looks super cheap and people might make fun of you but just follow the directions and it'll come out absolutely perfect every time. It's just the mix, mayonnaise, and crab meat and then broil. I also add a dash of paprika on the top so it'll get nice and crispy.

We have this one from amazon...innsky. Never disappoints. https://www.amazon.com/Innsky-Electric-Stainless-Touchscreen-Nonstick/dp/B07MR3KWSL/ref=mp_s_a_1_24?dchild=1&keywords=air+fryer&qid=1600521863&sr=8-24
That's just part of "seasonings" to me.
Vegeta is one of my favorite seasonings and Amazon has it for $6.38 for 2 pounds (1kg), which is a fabulous price. It has msg, disodium isonate (another good flavor enhancer), along with a bunch of dried vegetables and spices.
You're comparing apples to grapefruit. I have a large air fryer that can cook 2 16" XL pizzas at a time. The pizza comes out with a great crispy crust. I could use a pizza stone in it if I wanted to. I got it on an Amazon prime day sale for $170. My full-size oven costs 3 times more and I rarely use it for baking. I also have a smaller 2qt Instant Mini Vortex that gets used the most that cost $49.
I've had this one for over a year:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0923CBH72/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Works great, and is the perfect tiny size to keep out on my counter - it fits one serving of wings or one potato's worth of french fries.
Microwave steamers are so useful, especially if it has multiple tiers like this one; you can cook several things (fish/veggies) at once:
https://www.amazon.com/Microwave-Steamer-Healthy-Vegetables-Shellfish/dp/B082FNKZ4L/ref=sr\_1\_15?keywords=microwave+steamer&qid=1671645899&sr=8-15
That’s a really fair question! There is a condiment of sorts called chili crisp that you can buy at most Asian grocery stores (I think Trader Joe’s also has an equivalent now?) - this is the one I use. So I fry the green beans in the chili crisp which has an oil base. :)
Depending on the air fryer, get a double rack that comes apart. For example this: https://www.amazon.com/CODOGOY-Multi-Layer-Dehydrator-Accessories-Compatible/dp/B0B1CZYQHK/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=Y8QM84NIYKAQ&keywords=air%2Bfryer%2Brack&qid=1671065838&sprefix=Air%2Bfryer%2Brack%2Caps%2C140&sr=8-1-spons&spLa=ZW...
Then, place a tortilla on top and spray it down, the rack will clamp it down.

Looks like this is your best bet. We have the same air fryer it seems:
Mines doing the same thing. I think its normal wear and tear, but yeah, if it gets out of control probably need to order a replacement. found a bunch of replacement trays on Amazon, find one that fits your dimensions, they're relatively cheap:
Oster-Digital-French-Door-Oven
It may be too big for your counter space, but it can certainly cook your two separate meals at once. I've owned that model for about 18 months. I got it on sale during the Amazon Prime day for $169, and I had a gift card, so it didn't actually cost me anything. It's great for large items compared to using a full-sized oven. It can cook 2 16" large pizzas at once. It can find 16x9 casserole dishes and pans. It can fit 90 oz family sized frozen lasagna.
It can cook much more food than any dual basket air fryer. It can roast large chickens. It can roast turkey small and medium turkeys, but not the huge ones. You do need to take care to keep food from getting too close to the heating elements to prevent burning, or shield the food with aluminum foil, but that's normal. It does have good air circulation, but good closer to the fan at the right will cook more quickly than elsewhere.
I don’t think it’s Teflon coated. But I use these precut parchment liners and it makes cleanup so easy!
If you have to return it, I think the following Oster French Door Air Fryer is quite a bit better in many ways. I got the Oster for about $169 during an Amazon Prime Day sale.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08MXSZHB5/
Here's a good youtube review of it: https://youtu.be/QaND1PLLdtY
I think the Oster has a better layout with the controls on the right side, since they don't heat up from any hot drafts from opening the oven or from leaks from the doors. It also has very little wasted space. The Maxx wastes a lot of space at the top, which limits the height of the cooking area for large chickens, turkeys, and roasts.
The Oster has 3 rack positions, can fit 2 16" pizzas at a time, and can fit full sized 16x9 casserole dishes and family size lasagna trays.
The model I linked goes up to 450F, which has been fine for my purposes. There's a cheaper model that goes only to 400F.
I looked at all of the French Door style models that were available, including the Maxx, and I think the Oster is better in every respect. I've had good experiences with other Oster appliances in the past, including a rotisserie oven and a smaller convection toaster oven, which I got at Costco for very good prices.
My mother bought me a PowerXL Airfryer Pro (Random Youtube review) a while back...it spent almost a year in the box b/c I didn't need another appliance taking up counter space. Now it sits on a storage shelf w/ my Instant pot until I need it
I use it randomly for fries, chicken tenders for salads, brats etc...I think I use it more as a magic convenient snack machine when I don't feel like a meal, but I'm still kinda hungry. I will say I haven't used the spinning basket, I just dump stuff (fries, meats, green beans, etc) directly on the shelves, spreading them out so they're not touching. I don't use any extra oil on store bought fries/tots as they seem to have enough, and a dusting of lemon pepper seasoning when they're done is enough for me
For tenders, thighs, and breasts I use an olive or vegetable oil spray and McCormicks Grillmates seasoning blends. My Kroger's will have them on sale for around $1.50 every few weeks.
I haven't turned on my oven, since I've started using that airfryer. Black Friday is just around the corner, so if you hold out you may get a good deal. I also believe they have an 8qt and a 10qt, but those would be way too large for me. HTH
I spray outside the air fryer and place things like chicken on a wire tray like this
I bought a dedicated egg boiler and it come with a little metal poker to make a small hole in the shell.
I looked at dozens of Q&As on Amazon and apparently they don't sell them.
I had a Crownful before my current Cosori. It had rotisserie, but my Cosori doesn't. The skewer set looks to use the same 1/4" dia. shaft as yours, just not as long(wide) so you would have to use your shaft with the new side pieces. Skewers
The shaft on the basket is just 2 short non-removable stubs on the sides so that wouldn't work with your shaft. You might be able to find one wide enough to fit your oven here Basket
Good luck!
If you don't already have a toaster oven get this.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W67NQMN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
It's an all-in-one. And it's a COSORI so completely worth it IMO.
For pizza rolls and nuggets I don't, but if I make something like chicken or fish or veggies then I spray it. I did read somewhere that aerosol nonstick sprays are bad for nonstick coatings, so I picked up one of these things on Amazon and I love it.
Hos about This
Thanks, I found 120 pack paper Air fry tray.

I got an aluminum baking tray from my grocery store and used it for the purpose you’re looking for. It’s thicker than foil so it can be used a bunch of times, it’s also malleable so you can adjust it with you hands to take the shape of the bottom of the air fryer, I also put it in the dishwasher to clean when necessary. I attached an Amazon link, but you can buy them 1 or 2 at a time in you’re grocery stores baking section
I think I found the best candidate for the job: A short tray for biscuits
That is exactly why I purchased an oven-type air fryer. This is the one I have. It even has a rotisserie for chicken, fries, etc., if you want to use a rotisserie.
BTW, there is a very good Woot deal on a Ninja FG551 Food Smart XL 6 in 1 that includes an air fryer. It is scratch and dent but most purchasers report very little issues. This deal is $85.99. I paid $119.99 for the same thing on Amazon a few months ago. It looked brand new. I'll supply that link also:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HQPC87P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is the oven-type air fryer I have and it is wonderful. My very first air fryer was the basket type and I soon determine that I also needed the oven type. There are times when I am using both at the same time. Am also going to post of link of the basket type I have. I also have IP brand pressure cookers which are wonderful. With these tools, I can once again cook the way I did before I became disabled. Just use different methods. Also, whatever you get, don't forget to experiment and find out what cooking time and temperatures best fit your families eating desires. Recipes are just a guide and there are very bad recipes out there that should not even be in print; and there are also very good recipes out there. You can take your ravorite recipes and figure out how to convert them to whatever cooking method you are using.
I bought a silicone tray for my Nuwave duet. Works great and it’s easy to clean. May be something to consider, just check measurements.

so theres ones that are pseudo air fryers like this big boss one i just bought and like, for how thoroughly you can clean just about everything, except with this one, theres quite a bit of steam that stays trapped inside
Big Boss Air Fryer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BIFCHSO
Instant Vortex Plus 6Qt with ClearCook Cooking Window
Does your oven have a window and a light inside? Probably, if it's a good one. Why? Because it's very helpful to watch food as it's cooking without having to open it, so that you don't lose heat and delay cooking just to avoid burning something.
The Instant air fryers can also shut off their sounds completely, to eliminate obnoxiously loud beeping that many other air fryers do. Loud beeping irritates me, especially when it's entirely unnecessary.
The one priced at 275 AED seems to have more presets (10) than the pricier one. They make two air fryer 2s: one with a 3.6 liter capacity and one with a 5.5 liter capacity.
The more expensive 329 AED model seems to be an older model and not an Air Fryer 2. It has 8 presets and an 5.5 liter capacity.
I have a Corsori and love it. It didn't smell too bad but I did read online advice to run it outside so I did that. Now I would never know there is an issue with smell.
I'm glad to find this sudreddit. I still don't know much about air fryers. The only reason I got one is that Amazon made a mistake on Prime Day. They had it on heavy discount and then reapplied the $20 coupon in the wee hours before the Black Friday sale price disappeared. I had heard about that type of error before but never seen it. It lasts only minutes tops. Fortunately I reacted immediately and stacked the coupon atop the severe discount. Consequently I got a Wifi Cosori air fryer for $54 including tax.
I like to keep a screen grab as reminder: https://imgur.com/a/S2KbNo1
This is the item: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VLKMMJ5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
I have the instant pot brand air fryer. I think it’s about as small as you want to go for a family of three. It could easily fit in three chicken breasts three pieces of fish or an order of fries just not everything at the same time.
I notice it’s about $100 right now which surprises me that it’s gone up so much. I think I bought it at about 80. So it does go on sale. I absolutely love it and use it multiple times a day
Here’s the link: air fryer
You got the wrong kind of air fryer if you want to do large batches.
You should get a large French-door style air fryer convection oven that has 2 or more racks like this Oster one which I have, this Ninja one, or similar ones. I got that Oster one for $150 last year during the Amazon Prime Day sale. It also cooks up to 450F for better roasting. Oster makes a cheaper one that goes up to 400F.
It's the extra additives in Pam - I use something like this and you can spray just olive oil - I do this all the time for foods in my air fryer.
I use this, and it's great because it's not aerosol so you can spray it right on. I personally adore garlic, but they have other flavors as well.
You can, as long as it has no propellants. I use this one (it's delicious) and also regular oil in a pump spray bottle.
My air fryer doesn’t preheat. It’s this model (no cons, I adore it): https://www.amazon.ca/Chefman-Fryer-Dehydrate-Air-Rotisserie/dp/B07KWFC5Y7/ref=asc_df_B07KWFC5Y7/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=335186067961&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=313493828900361441&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001330&hvtargid=pla-597936002349&psc=1
I agree with you though that toast in the air fryer is probably a little harder in texture than in the toaster.
I think I researched my air fryer as seriously as car and house purchases! I knew I wanted glass doors to see the food cooking, very easy clean up, longevity and ease of use with good capacity. I found it all in this:
Amazon occasionally drops the price by a lot. I often cook in small foil square pans or on perforated parchment squares, and I don’t clean every time I use (I did at first). Cooks toast, hard boiled eggs, salmon, ribs, meatballs, steak, burgers, roasts veggies, perfect wings. I love the two trays. The temperature dial is so easy to use. I haven’t tried the dehydrator/basket/rotisserie yet but I really should.
I have a Misto Oil Sprayer and fill it with the oil I want (usually olive oil) and spray the pan. Harsh detergent will ruin the non-stick coating.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004SPZV/ref=ox\_sc\_act\_title\_18
Not OP but I make these all the time and have this mold!
We have this dual air fryer by Instant brands and generally really love it. There was some damage to the front cover of the baskets (presumably from shipping) and support was easy to deal with and sent replacement baskets right away. It's a huge step up from the Kalorik air fryer that we had before, and much easier to clean.
Initially I really wanted to get the dual air fryer by Ninja, but I didn't like that there were longer cook times if you used both baskets at the same time. Ninja generally makes great products, but I didn't see the point of getting their dual air fryer if it extended cook times. All I could imagine was soggy fries.
Instead of getting one air fryer for everything, I think it's better to get 2 styles for different purposes, each being worthwhile.
A single basket style air fryer is good for quick meals or sides like fries, roasted potatoes/veggies, chicken nuggets, chicken pieces, fish, hamburgers, steak, biscuits, sausage, and maybe mini pizzas.
If you use this strategy, then a mid-sized, cheaper basket air fryer could be a good value, something with a rectangular 5+qt non-stick basket that's separate from the drip tray with no burning hot loose trays or anything to deal with when dumping the food onto a plate straight from the basket. 1,700+ watts and temp up to 450degF are nice feature for faster heating and better roasting.
But these are not great for larger family-size items like large pizzas, large lasagna, full-size casserole dishes, roasting larger chickens, turkey, ham, and roast beef, and large quantities of anything needed to be cooked at the same time instead of lots of smaller batches.
A large French-Door style air fryer convection oven is much better for full meals. That one can cook two extra-large 14-15" pizzas at a time and large amount of the foods I mentioned. I have this model and it's great. I use it very frequently.
It just doesn't make much sense to me to spend a lot of money for an expensive basket style air fryer when it can't even cook a family size pizza or lasagna. But a smaller cheaper one is ok for its ease-of-use, particularly by older kids their own foods instead of using the microwave.
I Love my ninja and I got a great deal at kohls. Air fryer, toaster, and dehydrator if you like to dry your fruit. It also saves space by propping it up.

This is the air fryer I got on a sale (it was $265.15CDN at the time). I absolutely love it.
I don't know what I would do with a smaller one because being able to air fry an entire pizza is a godsend
I got this at dollar general, for a dollar. I got it on a whim because I'd never seen it before and the dawn they had was stinky.
The one I have is 10oz, the Amazon one is 26oz but same thing.
Mine is similar to this.
This Oster French Door air fryer oven is more versatile and a better value. I've owned that model for about a year and I use it nearly every day, sometimes multiple times per day.
There aren't many air fryers that can cook: 2 XL 14" pizzas, a full-size 90oz frozen family lasagna, full-size casserole dishes, some cast iron dutch ovens will fit for pot roasts and slow cooking.
A cheap $50 basket air fryer for quick and small items + this large air fryer oven is more practical than a dual basket air fryer of any kind. Dual-basket air fryers don't let you cook big items like pizzas, rib racks, lasagna, casseroles, large layer cakes, lots of garlic bread, cookies, brownies, etc. Anything long or big doesn't fit in the small baskets.
I have an airfryer but I wish it was one like this with a window that I can keep on eye on things to make sure nothing is overcooking: https://www.amazon.com/Instant-Vortex-Plus-Rotisserie-10/dp/B07VM28XTR
Instant pot makes an egg mold cooking insert. You crack the eggs into it ahead of time and then cook them so no peeling after. It works phenomenally well and if you want to mix other things in you can, but it isn’t necessary. egg bites mold

I got this small one recently and really like it because it's all dial-operated and it's small and light enough for me to pop into a cabinet or onto the fridge (we also have tiny countertops).
These liners fit perfectly (the samples that it comes with are too small).
Dual Basket Instant Vortex with Clearview window
You can watch the food cook and brown so that you know when to toss/readjust the contents to avoid burning. Square baskets hold a lot more food and allow better hot air circulation.
I’m just gonna jump in and recommend a Fasta Pasta for your microwave. I’ve been using one for over a decade. Better than trying to make an air fryer do something isn’t not designed for!

i have the smallest Ninja foodi electric pressure cooker and air fryer in one. Size is pretty good for a 2 person household, although somethings I have to do 2 runs of it (wings or chicken legs so they're not stacked). I use air frying the most but definitely use the pressure cooking mode, sauté mode, and even used slow cook mode as well.

we make a lot of chicken at home, in case anyone wants to try this;
we only use dark meat (leg & thigh cut apart), cut slits along the
thickest part of the raw flesh - this helps ensure even cooking.
pressure cook on high in a raised basket for 15min
this mostly cooks the flesh and drains away fat and moisture.
a 6qt pressure cooker can hold 6 pieces per level, we use a
two level raised tray, so we can cook 12 peices at a time.
removed the cooked chicken from the pressure cooker,
very sparingly sprinkle on vegeta no-msg premixed spices

you can find this half amazon's price in your local grocer.
preheat for 2min at 400F
cover the bottom of the air fry pan with chicken pieces,
stand the pieces up so there are air gaps between them.
air fry 10min at 400F.
if you like costco rotisserie chicken, you'll love this method.
It looks like a good recipe to make quickly. If you have a little extra time, you can brine or marinate the meat for at least 30 minutes to improve its flavor and texture. I like to use this tenderizer tool to perforate the meat so that the brine or marinade will easily be absorbed. You can use all those same spices you like. A little plain yogurt or buttermilk added to your mixture will work well.
Here's a similar recipe that will work in an airfryer, not only a grill:
Tandoori Style Yogurt Marinated Chicken Legs for the Grill
You can marinate it for longer, of course, but even 15-30 minutes gives a big improvement. I put the chicken with the marinade into large slider ziplock bags so that I can massage the spices into the meat. This gives the same effect as hours of marinating.
You can skip the yogurt if you don't have any and use a tablespoon or two of vinegar or lemon/lime juice. Just dry spices is OK too if rubbed into the meat under the skin.
Recently purchased the Dash Tasti Crisp:

It's the first air fryer I've ever had/used and really like it so far, easy to use, no fuss, no muss.
I think it's this one.

I bought it like a year ago.
Oh that's from a chinese super market. It's a thin metal plate.
It's similar to this plate from amazon (no referral)
We have a GoWiseUSA, specifically this one. It’s big. But works for our family of three. We have only used the Air Fry mode so far, had it two years now I believe, no issues. I typically use it in my pantry(which has a door, although the door does have slats) and it doesn’t get all that hot with it on. For the price($80), it’s honestly great, and I’d totally recommend I’d.
The heating element in the basket style is up top and a fan blows the hot air down. If there was a rack, the food closer to the heating element would cook much faster or burn while also blocking the hot air from reaching the food below it causing very different cooking results.
You could try something like this: https://www.amazon.com/HULISEN-Stainless-Multifunction-Basket-Pressure/dp/B075SXP2Z8/
I have a basket type and an oven-type. I use the oven-type much more than the basket
type. Here is the one I have and love:
Instant Vortex Plus 10 Quart Air Fryer, Rotisserie and Convection Oven, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Dehydrate and Warm, 1500W, Stainless Steel and Black

I saw a Youtube video saying a lot of people buy a cheap one, like it, and end up buying a better one so save some money and skip to step 2. What would you recommend?
I saw that Cosori is a better recommended brand, and this one isn't too much more expensive. Or is that still in the "Chinese crap box" category...
I have a tupperware box whose (only) job is to steam vegetables inside the microwave: (examples)
Another option which costs more per-use, but which requires zero cleanup, is (these things) which as you can see, cost $0.48 per use.
No, because it blocks the air flow. Instead, get perforated parchment paper, or the perforated silicone liners, so the air can flow.
Like these:
Air Fryer Basket Liner, Set of 100, 6.5 inch Square Air Fryer Liners/Square Parchment Paper with Holes/Perforated Parchment Paper for Air Fryer, Steaming Basket (6/7/7.5/8/8.5/9/10 Inch Available) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X3FWFQ6/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_1FXHKR5HFJT3N0VK6PWY
