Yikes. At least it’s on the heel. Your best bet is to use Saphir Renovatrice. This is a pigmented resin that will fill in the worn down part. Since it’s colored, you want whatever color seems closest to your shoe. You should only need a small amount. You’ll then want to polish with your normal polish to blend it in.
You may also want to trim away any loose flaps of leather to get a clean area to put the renovatrice on. But keep in mind that you likely won’t be able to make this look like it used to.
Not exactly what you asked, but if you haven't ordered yet: I prefer felt tongue pads, [like these](amazon.com/dp/B0030M800C/). They push the whole foot back in the shoe where it is supposed to be, firmly in the heel cup.
You should try 3/4 length arch supports.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005DIO2Y4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
EDIT: Ok, I re-read your post. If your problem is a lack of support, then the 3/4 length arch support might help. It seems though that you might want to just replace the insole with a new insole. That might require a cobbler's touch.
Just purchased some on Amazon from Benchmark Basics. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079SS9B41/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hello friend, I would watch this video so you can learn more about CXL.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J-VcdM8d5BQ
My understanding is that you should avoid any waxes since it could affect CXL. The recommendation from the Horween family is to just use Venetian Shoe Cream. I’ve had good results with that, but I personally prefer Saphir’s greasy leather cream since it leaves a more shiny lustrous finishing after some good brushing (link below)
The greasy leather comes in brown and black if you need to add a little color to your CXL. It also comes in natural to JUST condition the leather w/o affecting the color. I know Saphir also has a more expensive greasy leather cream from their Medaille D’Or line of products but that’s $25 per container. I heard it smells like peaches tho!
The best solution in your situation is to get a fresh bottle of neutral color Saphir Creme Universelle and mix it with your dried-out Saphir.
Saphir Creme Universelle is quite liquid, so it would add moisture that is lost in your old cream. I wouldn't mix the entire bottle, though. Try to do it with one shoe pair job at a time and see how it goes and what proportion of Univerelle to dried Saphir you need for the best result.
This is the best suede shampoo I've used. It smells like a solvent, but when diluted as recommended it is quite inoffensive. I would not shampoo suede more than once or twice a year. Use a suede brush for dirt and light stains. If you are finding the need to shampoo suede frequently perhaps a different material that is more resilient would be better for day to day wear.
If the heel slip is not too bad, maybe try something like this that you put under the tongue of your shoes, slightly pushes your foot back against the heel. I have some in a couple of shoes that gave me heel blisters and they worked well for me.

Any shoe store. Here is the link to Amazon. You just pull of the adhesive backing and stick on the tongue where you can't see it when you wear the shoe.

Not sure about using them in boots, but I can't see why not. I recently purchased some Woodlores and also some Ollieroo (the ones with two rods/springs and that spread) pairs from Amazon and the Ollieroo can't be beaten. They have a wider, fuller heel and a taller, fuller vamp area. They are REALLY nice. Super heavy. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/Ollieroo-Mens-Trees-Adjustable-Cedar/dp/B00WJIRM3Y/ref=sr_1_3?crid=29JMHQFADP2YW&keywords=ollieroo+shoe+tree&qid=1559569480&s=gateway&sprefix=ollieroo+shoe%2Caps%2C169&sr=8-3.
If you still have the shoe, and if they are not too terribly tight, you can use a tool from amazon to stretch them out. I think you can stretch at least a size of width (I am sure it says how much you could do).
I have this one from amazon below. My right foot is wider than my left, so I stretch the toe box of just that shoe so they fit better.
May be worth the money vs a new pair of shoes.

I used this to replace the lost leather: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002A94UXM
I think there's a Kirby Allison video where he demonstrated using the product.
Probably some from Preston/Elegant Oxford as well. I used a toothpic to try to match the level and texture as best as possible, and then when it had set for a moment, I was actually able to sculpt/smooth it a bit with my finger. In the end, I was pleased with how it looked after hand-sculpting and didn't do significant sanding.
Might be a good idea to put some on a piece of paper or something to get a feel for how it firms up through the drying process.
My color was AE's "Dark Chili", so I googled around until I found someone who suggested which saphir color is the best match.
Then I used saphir polishes, but AE polishes will work fine.
https://www.amazon.com/Saphir-Renovating-Cream-25ml-tube/dp/B002A980RY?th=1&psc=1. This was mentioned earlier, it’s basically liquid plastic, I had a smaller blemish and blended to colors to make it work.
I would also look into women's shoe trees here or adjustable plastic
Looks like Saphir has a few green options.
This dark green one would probably be the best.
More greens are available though.
1 They hold up (so far) but I don't wear them often. I use them as beaters for when I don't want to risk my more favored shoes.
2 No water repellents.

As others have said, if they are comfortable, the gap is fine. If you are curious, a Brannock device may be worth the expense.

You are welcome. Shoot me a message if the Saphir polish is not able to cover that stuff mark. If you don't already have cedar shoe trees, you should buy a pair that matches your shoe size and then put the shoe trees in the shoes every minute you aren't wearing the shoes.
There are tons of options for cedar shoe trees.
Woodlore is owned by Allen Edmonds and is located in the same city where your shoes were made: https://www.woodlore.com/shoe-trees-inserts/
I would order from Woodlore or AE only if the shoe trees are on sale.
I have been ordering these recently but this is just an example of shoe trees:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08PBH8MPT
There are two levels of the Saphir products: Kinda Pricey and Very Pricey. Here is the lower priced option:
https://www.amazon.com/Saphir-Renovateur-Luxury-Leather-Care/dp/B002PLC60Y/
Here is the Very Pricey version of the same thing:
These look pretty light so I would expect cream polish to cover or at least fade them. Is your polish a light brown? You may need to go darker. Also consider wax polish for the scratches on the front. Also these look normal brown to me so I'm not sure what you mean when you say they're bright saddle leather.
If polish doesn't work, look into Saphir Renovatrice. This is a resin-based cream that is designed to fill in holes and nicks in leather. You will want to color match as closely as possible. My process is to brush and condition the shoes, wait until they are completely dry, apply Renovatrice sparingly and wait until it dries, then polish with my normal polish to try to blend the Renovatrice in. You might want to look up how others do it as well--I've only used it a few times.
I’ve purchased a few sets of these from Amazon and they have held up really well: https://www.amazon.com/Miscly-Waxed-Dress-Shoelaces-Pairs/dp/B01K4W1BRO
They come in a set of 3 pairs for under $10 which is a bargain.
https://fintoco.com/collections/flat-dress-shoelaces-1
There's an option but I haven't tried them. I got some from Amazon last week and they are fairly nice:

Try a standard full shoe insole. You might be surprised. I generally wear size 11.5, and have some 12s. They’re not that much bigger. Try the cheap foam ones from the drugstore big that works, the buy something like this

I have never had an issue until I recently got a larger limited addition size (Limited Edition Saphir Medaille d'Or Renovateur - 100ml https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KJFDK75/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_TWKW6PGCETKQ3M3CV39K?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1)
I though it would be good to give my entire collection a refresh over Christmas since it had been a while. I am not sure if this one was a knock off or what, but it has left a wax film on my shoes, which has never happened before.
I just purchased the smaller size and am waiting for it to come to test out in comparison.

Purchase this and apply to your Walnut AE's:

It's half the price of what the other dude suggested and yet is a perfect match for "AE Walnut"
How hard were you scrubbing? :-)
A tinted cream might help. Finding the right color might be a bit tricky though. I'd start with this but experiment first on the tongue.

You could try some insoles. I have a Dr.Scholl’s insole that is super thin and it works great.
If you look at the 2nd link I posted above, you can see some different styles/builds. The ones I use use a spring at the back to keep a snug fit in the shoes. Some have more wood at the back to fill the rear half of the shoe more.
I really like the pine ones with the spring for keeping the shape of my shoes. They come in a 2 pack too https://www.amazon.com/Cedar-Elements-Solid-Pine-Trees/dp/B07DV474R1/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=cedar+elements+pine&qid=1629070278&sr=8-4
Your concern about an excessive room in your boots can be easily remidied by either a thicker merino wool pair of socks or an additional thin leather insole with a cork layer like Saphir.
This is the one I bought and it works fine: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G7DB835/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Helps me a lot in preventing heel slip.
The best treatment for making the leather more pliable/supple/soft, simultaneously preserving it and minimizing the creases is a good-quality leather conditioner, such as Saphir Renovateur or Venetian Shoe Cream.
You can also try mink oil (try to find a product containing real mink oil), but it can make your leather darker.
Clean, dry, and brush your shoes/boots thoroughly before applying a conditioner in order of getting rid of the microscopic dirt/dust particles that can penetrate leather's pores in the process of conditioner treatment.
After a conditioner is fully absorbed - about 5-10 min. - give your shoes/boots another good brushing. Almost all other shoe treatments such as cream polishes or waxes are mainly for making the shoes shiny on the surface and have very little, if at all, benefit for the leather itself.
All i use on my shoes are Venetian Shoe Cream and Saphir Medaille d'Or Pate De Luxe Shoe Polish . Start off with VSC, massage it into leather with fingers or cloth. Buff with horsehair brush. Apply Saphir. Buff with brush. Produces a nice shine and also conditions the leather. I prefer using my fingers because it gives me an intimate relationship with my shoes.
Definitely - Saphir Medaille d'Or Renovator – All-Purpose Leather Shoe Cleaner & Conditioner.

I dont know of any mainline shoes that are certified Slip resistant but I have a pair of the Shannon Drive which are the ae (made in DR) line and they slip resistant and oil resistant.
I got them on closeout for 97$. The stitching is a bit wonky but they are good for the price. The AE website doesnt show them but amazon does.

Sorry. Neutral polish
The color of new AEs is very matte when you take them out of the box. After spending time polishing them they will look like different shoes.
If you are on a budget I would at the very least put a few coats of neutral wax on them. This will slightly nourish the leather, bring out a shine, and add a layer of protection from scuffs and water. I recommend this for $9. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002QEV1Y2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
A cheap kiwi brush is fine for now.
I don't have trees for every pair. I wear a pair, let them sit an hour after I take them off to dry, then insert a tree for 24 hours. I rotate 2 sets of trees through my collection. You could get away with just one.
I'm wearing dark chili 5th avenues with dainite soles today. You have good taste!
I bought this belt from Belt Designs UK. The Tan matched my Dark Chili Fifth Avenue's.
