Wrong. Violence is violence whether it was verbal or physical. Let's look at the very definition of the word:
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/violence
In #2: : injury by or as if by distortion, infringement, or profanation : outrage.
What the OP describes fits that definition perfectly.
Just like physical violence injures the victim, so does verbal violence. They're both abuse. Why minimize the pain this person feels, which is obviously great, by getting caught up with the choice of words?
My advice to the OP... I think taking the high rode is always a good move, because sadly we are all representatives of our race, especially as minorities. It hurts to be treated with a lack of respect. It takes away our dignity and that's so painful, and sadly if you're not a minority I think it's hard to understand. How can you possibly make someone who has no way of identifying with you understand, besides surprising them with an incredible amount of self-restraint and dignity? Maybe add, "I hope you're proud of yourself?"
Other than that, I can't think of a good way to make someone empathize. I feel like only a deep experience could help the sadly ignorant individual trying to get a rise out of you. Shows a lot more about them than you. How must they feel inside that they have to go out of their way to actually see you feel shitty to feel good themselves?
The computer measures the CPU temperature on its own, you just need to access the measurements through BIOS or some third party monitoring software like HWMONITOR or Core Temp.
It's generally a good idea to have some form of monitoring software at hand so if your baby starts acting up, you can quickly check its vitals to narrow down what's wrong.
I am sorry this happened to you. This is extrelemely traumatic. Trauma and violent events 'reshape' the brain in some ways, making it very hard to be yourself anymore. OFten, your brain thinks you;re still in danger right now, even though the trauma is in the past. See, your brain is made of several 'brains' and they don't always talk to each other.
You will have to 'rewire' your brain somehow. Have you considered going to a thereapist? If you cannot afford it, considering getting a copy of "the body keeps the score" from Bessel van der Kolk. I'm reading it these days to deal with stuff that happened in my childhood. It's the among the very best books ever written on trauma. I highly recommend.

You can also try to google "how to deal with trauma" . There are a lot of different mehods out there, try to find one that applies and speaks to you.
Best of luck. That shit is hard. But you're doing the right thing to tackle it as soon as possible. If you stay in that state for too long, its hard to 'come back' because your brain keeps the wiring like that.
I'll be honest, it may suck but its best not to worry about stuff that is out of our control.
I built this free game (for Android) as a joke to point out the ridiculousness of the current political climate, maybe it will help bring some joy in just laughing at the ridiculousness of it all:

I hope today is a better day for you!
You could download a new alarm app. You don't have to use the stock HTC one.
Timely comes to mind.
Most alarm apps worth a damn will take over as the default handler of alarms (so you can still OK Google to set alarms). Timely is one of them.
