City Of Woke it's on Amazon
Wokeism is a combination of early Protestant Puritans in America (going back to at least as early as the early 1940's) and European Marxist revolutionary thought. However, the history on this has been distorted by politics and so most Americans believe that only the Christian Right was influenced by the Puritans and Americans in general are very uneducated on the history of Marxism.
Wokeism is essentially the Marxist lens of class warfare, but also includes things like gender, race, sexuality, etc. instead of just class. It emphasizes viewing all of humanity and human history as oppressor versus oppressed and all human interaction as one group trying to dominate another. As such, it stresses tribalism, group struggle and pushes narratives like "liberation theology". Of course the modern equivalent now views Christianity itself as one of the oppressive institutions, so it's new form ditched the trappings of religion, but kept the fundamentalism is more accurately described as Progressive Puritanism.
