Dunno. Just tried the direct-download of my clone (the one where installs work), and the manifests match. Part of what's really interesting, though, is that neither matches the manifest after install.
On direct download, all Google does is set this as line 2:
"update_url":"http://clients2.google.com/service/update2/crx",
But, once they install it, they reformat the manifest a bit, changing around the whitespace, presumably sorting the keys, and adding key
entry. So it looks like everything is in order so far on that front :/
This Google Groups thread might be relevant. Seems like the zip needs to be totally uncompressed… though it also seems like they're saying the compression issue has since been fixed. They need more specific error messages, sheesh >_<
Sorry for long time before reply, had many things to do, including sleep...
I just looked with the Dragonfly tools. Errors showing up are only CSS errors, and they come either from reddit stylesheet, either from document itself, nothing seems to come from extension. Or I didn't see them, but a single page load triggers ~~140~~170 errors... When I look linked CSS, I see only reddit and subreddit's stylesheets, but since I don't see RES' ones either, I think it's fine (Or RES has no stylesheet...).
When looking into HTML document, bpm attrutes seems to be there...
I'll look a little further, but I didn't see anything relevent for now.
I'll also try with Opera Next, maybe better luck.
Edit : Tried with Opera Next, and strange thinks, it works. But still nothing on my standard Opera, may be a configuration issue. That would be fun to find what is the problem now.
Screenshot : (Opera left, Next right). Strangely, I don't have the same error amounts on left and on right.
[](/ajbook-r) The install button doesn't work in Opera. But using the Download Chrome Extension extension you can visit the chrome webstore and install BPM from there.
[](/lyranotsure) I like where /u/Parasprite is going with point 6: The window position being outside the visible area. Please try the following:
1. Click on the [emotes] button.
2. Open the Firefox Inspector [Ctrl+Shift+C].
3. In the search bar (on the right) enter #bpm-sb-container
It should look like this.
In the grey highlighted line in the style
attribute, do you have similar values? Especially left
and top
somewhere between 0 and less than your browser window size; and width
and height
greater than ~100px.
Here is what I got : Screenshot (With the detailled debug messages and the empty style tags for reference)
For the console messages, they appear only when I select the reddit page as context. Nothing happens when I select Opera extension.
