Ok, so it seems like there's a lot of people who don't know what's in the contract that was approved. There's also a lot of misinformation. I prepared a summary, based on the existing contract and the contract approved yesterday. Please read it over and understand the differences. I haven't made any judgements on the value of the contract to an individual, since everyone is different.

I mean, I loved my high school's C++ and Java classes. I'd previously tried to teach myself and couldn't wrap my head around it, but my high school teacher did great. The only thing I taught myself is Python, and I think this was the book I used (I borrowed it from my college prof, so I'm not 100% sure):

They’re not necessarily stand-alone courses but when you register for a programming major you can take a programming class early on to see if you like it.
I would start small by learning html/css/JavaScript. They’re not difficult. You could learn them over the winter break on Youtube. That’s what I did.
Each school has different programming languages but there’s a book that really helped me. Study it. It’s called “Think Sharp”. It focuses on teaching c# programming but all object-oriented programming languages are very similar, they just have different syntax. Your school will probably focus on one. You will need to learn data structures. This was helpful for me: https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/learn-data-structures-from-a-google-engineer/

There is a pretty decent free class on udemy.com. I signed up when I found out how long Boeing takes to hire. I figured I could go from no experience to Catia master in the time it takes to get an interview.
STAR behavioral interview covering experience, teamwork, ability to work with different people. This page is kinda death by ads, but the strategy for STAR and the types of questions seem correct. https://zety.com/blog/star-method-interview
