A detail from an 1894 Frederick Opper cartoon in Puck that poked at Joseph Pulitzer's sensational newspaper business. I posted the full original image at Panels & Prose.
Unfortunately not, there's this cheap paperback by DC in the early 2000s. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1401207553/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A1LP44AAEV0XPJ&psc=1 "The Best of The Spirit", but as far as I can tell, no big premium edition like a lot of strips are getting now.
The one I have is The Indispensable Calvin and Hobbes which is 1 in 8 books that cover the entire collection.
I have considered in the past to get the complete collection (this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1449433251) but did not. Maybe some day.
Featuring the first in depth look at the comic strip work of Maurice Ketten, the complete restored run of “Lucy and Sophie Say Good Bye” from 1905, and much much more. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NMDFM63/
Just picked up an old used copy of this collection from the 70's. Two adventures. One of which involves Moon being jailed and then on the hunt for the true perpetrator. Still available in used paperback.
I've never seen any collections of these but this book is an awesome look into his life, and works that's a must-read for any Herriman fans.
