My bluetick really likes these fleece hoodies. He's on the higher end of breed standard at 80 lbs with a 34" chest circumference and he wears an XL. It's easy to put on and very soft and warm. I do safety pin the hoods back since his nose is always on the ground and it gets in his way for sniffing but it looks really cute even if it isn't functional.
I get the same thing and I saw it all the time in dogs when I was grooming and both of my dogs have this as well. The other problem with dry skin in dogs is it also makes them oilier faster and stinkier quicker. You need to do exactly what people do: moisturize. Head and shoulders BTW is hands down the best fix for irritated dog skin. Mink oil is a really good moisturizer for dogs as is a gentle human leave in conditioner, a spray kind. But I use this stuff. I spray it on lightly right when they’re clean and still SLIGHTLY went then rub it in. Avoid oatmeal shampoo and tea tree. The best for this skin problem if you’re not hauling head and shoulders will be one that is baking soda based.
Oatmeal and tea tree are advertised for irritated and dry skin but they are stripping agents and dogs like coonhounds are a naturally oily dog with shedding hair and these products will over dry them. Oatmeal and tea tree are best left to dogs with hair like a poodle.
My 7.5 mo puppy is 15", 27", 19". I ordered this harness (which is only the 2nd that I have tried), but the "adjustments" STAY PUT. You can see him moving around in it from my previous posts- I know he isn't pulling or squirming... but, you can see enough (I think). I don't know how long it will last, but I know for now, I really couldn't ask for better. I wish it covered less surface area- but it is breathable and controls him very well. I think the key is the angle of the front adjustable straps.
I like the Bodhi dog brush (link. It has small rubber nubs that are very gentle. It doesn’t really collect the fur, so I brush him outside. Works best when you brush firmly in a circular motion (like curry combing a horse).
This type of brush will really get up any dead skin and help spread the natural oils along the hair shaft. It makes them super glossy over time. A short bristled brush to brush away loose hairs after you do the curry comb brushing also helps them look shiny and get rid of loose hair.
I got my 90 pound Bluetick this harness. I exclusively use the front loop. Doesn't fully stop him from pulling, but definitely stops him from dragging me around.

Our TWC loves hide and seek plush toys.
Same as other commenters, I recommend the snuffle mat to slow down feeding. The one I found that slows my coonhound down the most is this one:

Thank god my BT doesn't shed much. My Bassett hounds shed like crazy. Can only recommend a thin bristle brush and weekly outside brushing sessions. You could also try giving him some fish oil or another source of omega-3. I'd recommend fish skin chews. Omega-3 helps a lot with coat health, and reducing shedding.

My boy's about 60 lbs and the large fits great. All the straps are adjustable and it has front and back clips. For the price i figured it would just be a temp junk one while I searched around but it's actually really durable, cleans easy, and doesn't hurt his underarms. He's a tugger and it's still in one piece 6+ months later....
We got this one 2 years ago in an XL and it’s still going strong. rabbitgoo Dog Harness, No-Pull Pet Harness with 2 Leash Clips, Adjustable Soft Padded Dog Vest, Reflective No-Choke Pet Oxford Vest with Easy Control Handle for Large Dogs, Black, L https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M8JT6FT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_J97TPFSN3ZY12AZ4KB93?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I got this one for my daughters bully recently. I am not recommending this specific one as we just got it, and you never know how long it will last. but we liked that because it was 3 parts and not 2 it was highly adjustable for chest width and length.
Since she's already wearing a harness, you can use something like this: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07X836SW9/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_D49F7PYZYTPB3ASYDB1F
One end clips to her harness like her leash would, other into the seat belt buckle
My girlfriend carry’s canned air / pet protector stuff. We’ve used it twice with success. SAFETY-SPORT DOG HORN XL https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LDH4Y35/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_J2N6D46ET8TEA11CB4Z3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I bought mine from tractor supply company. Horses are much stronger than my dog, but she is powerful, so I figured a more durable item intended for a 1k animal would be better. But Amazon stocks them too:

Not a training tip but we recently got this harness leash for our redbone and it has helped A LOT with the pulling: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SNOBOLE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_4SMQC8QC6K695W0BMQRR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have used the Blue 9 balance harness and that works well for my dogs. It is very adjustable but kind of looks like the second one you posted.
Have you tried a fleece jacket underneath the harness? I have versions of this one I've purchased and also sewn at home. It's really lightweight and just adds a nice layer of protection to my dog's "underarms".
Good luck with your pup!
This is our "fanciest" one that we've used with many a dog and have some friends who use the same.

My TWC has had a variety of beds but this is her favorite! BarkBox is a great company as well, they do a year warranty just in case your dog destroys it or something happens! The cover is waterproof and zips off for washing too!

my redbone doesn't really do toys, occasionally she will find one that squeaks and just make noise
If they are rambunctious take them for walks or let them play, when ours was younger the dog park was great for this
Be careful as hounds natural instinct is to run off chasing a smell, they are not off leash dogs unless you are training them to hunt
The other thing you can try tho is food based toys, like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0711Y9XTF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I use a wooden handle and rubber teeth shedding tool. It works okay, nothing works great on their fur. But it sheds his neck under where the collar sits and along the top of his back. Also, he seems to like it, its like a massage for him. And it works in the wet too, when giving a bath. See link for something similar below.

It isn’t a bone, but my coonhound LOVES this toy. I think it is perfect for his hound instinct because it gives him something to smell/track/hunt around the house. He’ll push it around for hours.

I tried out one from Amazon to see if it's something she's interested in. She eats super fast so this was kind of meant to slow her down and buy me a little bit more time and be an interactive thing where she could use her nose. She really likes the circular pieces with all the fronds. if you search for snuffle mat on Amazon you can see all the different types.
I got a rubber dish mat like this one.
Then I cut up old towels and fleece pajama pants into 2" x 6" strips and tied them to the mat.
I did towels on the horizontal rows of the mat and PJ pants on the vertical columns. Be sure to feed them though the back so the loose ends stick upwards to hide the food.
This is what we use in our dog's ears, he shakes his head like crazy when it's done and immediately starts drooling for his chicken jerky!
This is the only one that would fit our coonhound's chest properly. All of the others had gaps due to the oblong shape of his rib cage. It also gives us a ton of control when walking which is nice because he pulls like a maniac. There's a bit of a learning curve to figure out how to put it on but once you get it, it's the best! Bonus, no extra leash since it's all one!
I got this the one that's a set of two for both my dogs. I like that it's long range and doesn't have a screen. I also primarily bought it because it was the only company in amazon that had real dogs in their advertising pictures and who had employees from the company put the collar on their dogs. I trust that much more than all the other companies who just photoshopped it on a dog and called it a day. Idk, I mean I wouldn't put this on my dog if the owners won't put it on theirs.
I tried it on myself and its works alright, higher levels are a bit too much imo, but I might just be a wuss. And my main complaint is that it's DC voltage not AC. If I buy a new set I would definitely go with AC. It causes more muscle contraction with less of a burn. But honestly, I've only had to shock my dogs like 3 times, the beep and buzz is all they need now, it works really far away, and it seems like its pretty welt built. Would recommend.
