I just posted this on Steemit about what happened today. https://steemit.com/decentraland/@jlanzago/decentraland-the-worst-ico-ever - I hope you guys can read it, comment it and if possible (if you like it), upvote.
I had the same issue then switched to the built in MM wallet in Brave. Also make sure you authenticated the action in your ETH wallet and it has some gas money.

Go back to your wallet and authenticate the action. It's best to use Brave browser since the wallet is linked in. I open my wallet in a new tab to make it easier and so the correct wallet logs in.

ETH will bring down gas fees as they are currently working on it, but that isn't the issue IMO since developers are still unable to create content on Decentraland unless they either own or lease property. Reduces gas fees unfortunately won't reduce the base price. Decentraland has already tried to fix this gas this by selling assets on Polygon since they have reduced gas fees, but they're still significantly higher than chains like Celo though (I don't know why they don't use that but full disclosure I own a lot so there's a conflict there for me). I think it would be in their best interest to dedicate a small section to free open content, since when you have to make such a significant investment in purchasing land, of course you're going to do something like an NFT gallery - People will make a fun game for free to drive users, but not pay thousands to do so (at least now).
Right now IMO It's a great tool for people to be introduced to crypto and start somewhere. You don't have to invest in any crypto to play. You can join as a guest or create your first crypto wallet with Metamask (https://metamask.io/) There is an incredible social aspect. I have always said you need to look at Decentraland as a Social Network. Rather than a Traditional Game.
I used the following method to purchase some MANA on Binance. If you find these instructions useful you can use my Binance referral link when you setup your account: https://www.binance.com/?ref=12696752 Show your thanks. :-)
First buy some coin through Coinbase, either Ethereum or Bitcoin.
Once you have the coins (either btc or eth) on CoinBase open a Binance account. Then go to the 'funds' drop down and select 'Deposits Withdrawals.' Then find eth or btc in the list and select Deposit.
That will show your 'ETH Deposit Address'. Copy that and then go back to Coinbase and go to 'Accounts'. From their click on the account from which you will be sending the money. Make sure you send eth to eth OR btc to btc, don't mix them up or your money will be lost! Click the 'send' button for that wallet. You can then enter the ETH Deposit Address that you copied from Binance. Finish the confirmation then wait for the transaction to go through.(It'll take a bit of time, you can blame the cats.)
When the transfer is confirmed it will show up on Binance in the Deposits Withdrawals list for the currency type that you used.
Now you need to buy the MANA with it. To do that you go to the Exchange drop down menu and select 'Basic.'
In the column on the right is a search field. Click either ETH or BTC above that field and then enter MANA to search. This will give you the MANA/ETH pair.
Now you can buy MANA. In the 'Buy' area you'll see your amount of Ethereum. You can use the % buttons to automatically enter how much you want to buy, or enter it manually.
Once you've bought it you can watch your order in the Orders > Open Orders menu. After the purchase is complete it will appear in the Deposit Withdrawal list. Your wallets with funds in them should appear at the top of that list.
Lastly, prepare to either retire in fabulous wealth...or work some overtime to make up for the money you lost!
