It looks like metamask swap is another service built on top of other exchanges that aggregates data: https://metamask.io/swaps
> A service fee of 0.875% is automatically factored into each quote, which supports ongoing development to make MetaMask even better.
This is the true beauty of decentralization, instead of getting fucked over by three parties when paying with credit card (issuer, acquirer, network) you can get fucked over by N anonymous parties!
It's still very, very early days for the tech, so unfortunately the user experience is a lot more convoluted than many would like it to be. Your best bet is to install the Metamask extension for Chrome/Firefox/Brave, purchase a small amount of ETH using the 'Buy' button, and then head to the CryptoKitty website and sort by 'cheapest.'
There's a bit of a learning curve to all of this, but I think the payout would be worth it in the long run. Many of us around here believe that cryptocurrencies like Ethereum will become the foundation of Web 3.0!
Ever heard of metamask..? https://metamask.io/
Infura handles over 1 billion requests per day. https://infura.io/
Truffle is the most popular eth development environment. https://truffleframework.com/
It's not all about end user applications, we need core infrastructure.
I can't really speak for the Mist team, but I think Mist aspires to be a full ethereum node browser, providing the maximal blockchain integrity an Ethereum browser can offer.
There are other options though. I'm currently working on MetaMask, a Chrome plugin Ethereum client that will have a public beta available fairly soon! You can sign up for our email list on our website!
Correct. Metamask has a great description on their site.
> Will EIP-1559 make gas cheaper?
> No, this is not the intent of the EIP. As a side effect of a more predictable base fee, EIP-1559 may lead to some reduction in gas prices if we assume that fee predictability means users will overpay for gas less frequently. With EIP-1559, the base fee will increase and decrease by 12.5% after blocks are more than 50% full. For example, if a block is 100% full the base fee increases by 12.5%; if it is 50% full the base fee will be the same; if it is 0% full the base fee would decrease by 12.5%.
> The ongoing movement of applications to rollups and Layer 2s will greatly reduce fees.
For those who haven't downloaded Meta Mask yet, see the added link.
Press "Add Token" then add: 0x054d64b73d3d8a21af3d764efd76bcaa774f3bb2. This adds PPAY.
I personally recommend this wallet.
Don't know if this helps, but TIL there is an institutional Metamask wallet:
>Institution-compliant custody solutions
>
>Simplify capital deployment into DeFi applications with multi-signature support and direct integration with leading custody providers.
Typically you would only need an Ethereum enabled browser or at least an extension for your current browser (there's a really good one for chrome) in order to connect to the Ethereum blockchain.
No. The Suite does not have Cardano in it. The Suite is just wallet-interface software though. It's meant to be so easy your grandma could use it and it only supports a fraction of all the things your Trezor can do.
When it comes to the Trezor "supporting" certain things, that's entirely dependent on the firmware in the Trezor, which has nothing at all to do with the wallet-interface you use with your Trezor.
You can hop over to AdaLite and use your Trezor for Cardano there. Just like you can add your Trezor to Metamask for Ethereum or Electrum for Bitcoin and see the same info you see in the Trezor Suite (albeit with more functionality).
Trezor Suite is a good place to get started at first but, as a Trezor user for half a decade, I rarely open it up. Your Trezor does not know nor care what software is at the other end of the cable sending it commands. If you aren't afraid of command lines, install trezorctl
and you can use your Trezor for all sorts of fancy stuff like PGP encryption and data signing.
tl;dr The term "wallet" generally means a combination of keys and a program to interact with those keys. Your Trezor provides the keys, you can use whatever program you want with it. The only person forcing you to use your Trezor with Trezor Suite is yourself.
There is already a plugin for Chrome and Firefox for dapp support: https://metamask.io/
Mist will likely always be the reference browser for Ethereum, but if it is successful, the functionality will definitely be added to other browsers.
Right now all the browser implementations are clunky because they rely on full nodes to work. Mist requires a local full node, while Metamask connects to a third party full node. Once light client solutions are available for Ethereum, the experience should be a whole lot smoother (and more secure if you are currently relying on a third party node).
This is why you should bookmark the websites you use regularly and only use the bookmarks to go to those websites. Don't click random links on Telegram, Slack or other websites. Additionally, it may be a good idea to install either MetaMask or EtherAddressLookup. These extensions will warn you when you visit a phishing website.
You need a Metamask.io wallet downloaded on your computer, before you can do anything else.
The quicker you start actually using the technology, the quicker you will understand. Its kind of like high school algebra.... The teacher can talk about it all day long. At some point, you gotta use your #2 Pencil, some paper, a calculator, and a book....
You can do it
Metamask is a web-enabled wallet, it's probably the most common wallet. If you're looking for a wallet based on security rather than ease-of-use, check out Argent, but I don't love jumping through all of those hoops, metamask is just easy.
THAT IS A SCAM.
You will NEVER need to enter your private key to 'claim' an airdrop.
The site is also highlighted as a scam by Metamask
Edit: I highly recommend you install https://metamask.io/, it automatically flags sites that are reported as scams. There is also etheraddresslookup: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/etheraddresslookup/pdknmigbbbhmllnmgdfalmedcmcefdfn?hl=en-GB which flags addresses known to be associated with phishing/scams
>How are the private keys stored?
Private keys are stored on the secure token (e.g. YubiKey) or TPM that you log in with. They never leave that device. All Internet Identity sees is the public key, once, when you first register the device. After that, the Internet Identity canister only sends a challenge (some random bytes) and your device responds with a signature (that Internet Identity can then verify against the public key it stored earlier to ensure that you are in fact in possession of the matching secret key).

>Does Internet Identity use an HSM or any other hardware-based solution?
Yes, unless you log in via something like MetaMask, as The Wall proof-of-concept showed, you will need either a secure token or TPM holding your private keys to sign in. An HSM is also an option.
FWIW neither secure tokens nor TPMs allow anyone (including the owner) to extract a secret key that they store. That is their very purpose.
Thank you!
We have issued a blacklist on EtherAddressLookup and MetaMask, archived and indexed it on EtherScamDB, and issued takedown notices.
Decentralized Apps. These are apps that connect the Ethereum blockchain with the web. You use an Ethereum Browser to access them, or a plugin for your browser. For example, Gnosis, Augur, Etheroll, Etherdelta are all intended to be DApps.
It's still in very early stages, but you can try it now by getting MetaMask for Chrome https://metamask.io/ and then hop on to https://etheroll.com/ and see how easy it is. Note that MetaMask is still beta and the tech is still evolving, but so far looking very promising. In the future, these will be hosted on decentralized internet, such as IPFS / Swarm / other distributed content network.
edit: How could I possibly leave this out? You can also try my simple little DApp I've created last May to try out the tech https://www.ethhodler.org/ ;-)
Maybe I don't understand the question, but I believe all you need is metamask and browser-solidity.
In browser-solidity, write out your contract, click on the "environment" tab on the right side (the one with the box), scroll down to the contract you want to deploy, and then click "create". Metamask will ask you to sign the deployment transaction. Then you can interact with the deployed contract in the browser (or reload it later if you keep the address).
Hey, yea best way is to create a wallet (metamask is a good one : https://metamask.io/) and then send funds on it.
If you are new to crypto, I recommend you to use sidechains like polygon where fees are really low to start, so you can afford mistake and play with small amounts.
You have to download metamask https://metamask.io/
You can then import your wallet and use the DApp browser to connect to the cumfarm
If you’re on iOS trust won’t work anymore, android is unaffected
The comments on r/Dogecoin make me LOL.
>I have a question for the Doge of Wisdom:
>I'm using MetaMask (https://metamask.io/ for the curious) and it doesn't seem to have access to DogeCoin directly. You can put in a custom token, but it says I need the "Token Contract Address," the "Token Symbol," and the "Decimals of Precision." I have no idea what the first is, have a guess to the second, and I'm not sure if I need to know the third or if I can put in any old number.
MetaMask is a bridge that allows you to visit the distributed web of tomorrow in your browser today. It allows you to run Ethereum dApps right in your browser without running a full Ethereum node. Their mission is to make Ethereum as easy to use for as many people as possible. More here https://metamask.io
its password protected just like a MEW. Ive been using it forever and trust it completely. I look at it as another way to access my wallet.
But do your own research. https://metamask.io/
It is still a paper wallet that you are just accessing thru metamask instead of MEW.com
Also I've heard there is a suggestion for an addition to Firefox to allow such functionality entirely in Javascript. The addition AFAIK was not merged into their release branch yet. Perhaps someone can fill in the details.
all you need to interact with any smartbch dapp (incl https://smartstarter.cash) is https://metamask.io. also avail for android and ios.
you also need to exchange bch for smartbch. i recommend wagon.cash, for its ease of use.
happy to answer any questions about smartstarter and/or smartbch in general 😉
Have.... you looked it up?
https://metamask.io/faqs.html - "Which Tokens does Metamask support?"
It only supports eth and eth-based tokens, none of the ones I listed.
I've gotten similar emails. Quick view: Metamask is metamask.io not a .com
Also, they will never email you, and I laughed seeing the Fox logo off center. These scumbags can't even center correctly. Lol. Stay safe.
Optional: Put GTON/FTM into a liquidity pool.
Make metamask wallet: https://metamask.io/
Send ETH to your metamask wallet, can buy via coinbase or any other exchange
Go to Uniswap and "connect wallet": https://app.uniswap.org/#/swap
Swap for KUMA coin
Done!
No there is. I was using the old version of reddit so the sidebar didn't show up, but I'll modify the sub description and post it here too: 1. Buy some Ethereum from either Binance or Coinbase
Create a Metamask wallet through https://metamask.io/ and send your Ethereum to that new wallet
Sync your wallet to Uniswap on https://app.uniswap.org/
Add the contract address: 0xCF8335727B776d190f9D15a54E6B9B9348439eEE into the search bar to pull up WHACKD
Set slippage to around 5%, or higher if the transaction won't go through initially by hitting the gearbox icon in the upper right corner of the trading window.
Enable "fast" transactions to ensure that there's no delay on the trade.
ShibaSwap supports MetaMask (https://metamask.io/). Download the app, create a wallet and withdrawl your tokens to your metamask wallet. Later you can connect the metamask wallet to shibaswap. I hope thats all :)
It depends on what you want to use it for. If you're looking for a wallet to do daily interactions with decentralized applications, you should go with Metamask. If you're looking for cold storage to just store your crypto, you should use MyCrypto ;-D. If you have a lot of money in crypto, i would recommend getting a hardware wallet (Ledger, probably). You can use this with both Metamask and MyCrypto.
To fund a loan you need only the following:
If its a USD based loan you might need to get the lates USD rate by pressing get USD rate (costs 0.05 ETH for oraclize). It takes 1 min (2 blocks) to get the rate updated.
Would really recommend reading the whitepaper and getting to know Ethereum / ERC20 tokens a little more.
The error message you're seeing is most likely caused by not having an extension like metamask installed (which is how you're browser can talk to the ethereum blockchain).
Browse some of the filled requests and compare the loan amounts with the collateral amounts and associated market value to get an idea of how the financial side is structured. It's a peer to peer loan dapp which means its up to the users of the platform to settle on mutually acceptable terms.
Ideally this should be made available through a browser extension like MetaMask to ensure the best user experience.
We have seen discussions on Github about MetaMask planning to integrate this functionality though there is no news or an ETA at the moment.
To follow the conversation you can watch the thread on Github.
well you just need to install MetaMask (from https://metamask.io), switch to Ethereum Mainnet, then go to https://app.ethlend.io and there you go. You can place loan request with ERC-20 token or ENS domain collateral and once reputation (Credit Tokens) is gained, use the reputation based lending as well.
For the sake of instructions, here are the videos on how I cruise the DApp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tb6fzGXADho&list=PLf4N4wF5YKdoJDIe2D_Cg4cXWa-ruMpV5
With polo you can only trade against the USDT (tether). So they don't directly deal with USD or deposits of fiat. Its just a coin pegged to the USD.
You will need to onramp your USD to either ETH or BTC with gemini/coinbase/kraken. Then move from one of those exchanges to poloniex to start trading golem.
Another option, which would let you play on the actual Ethereum blockchain. Download the metamask chrome extension, go to mkr.market now called oasis. You will be using a decentralized exchange to turn ETH into GNT, with no need to imput any personal information. Just link up the metamask wallet. The only fees you pay will be for the gas on the transactions.
Homie /u/mr_yukon_c made up a tutorial video that got me up and running with Mkr.market.
Sorry for the late reply!
Ledger ships with software called Ledger Live. It's great for firmware updates and keeping the device updated, but it's limited when it comes to tracking all of your assets. You can't manually add other networks like in the case that you have small cap coins on new blockchains.
What really opened up the functionality of my ledger is using the ledger device with the Meta Mask extension. When using meta mask, you can add networks manually in the case that it's new. Like Cronos for example! I added the Cronos blockchain, so now I can view CRO and coins that utilize the Cronos blockchain like VVS, Crona, Wind, ext.
Highly recommend using your ledger for everything.
https://metamask.io/download.html https://www.ledger.com/academy/security/the-safest-way-to-use-metamask
First of all, how much ETH we talking about here? You will need to send that ETH to a metamask wallet. That's 15$ in fees. Then the fees to buy an NFT is about 150$+. The ethereum network is heavily congested thus fees are extremely high and will probably remain like that for months. Do you have any clue on what NFT's you want?
Metamask.io (browser extension) or download the metamask app on your phone. Beware of fakes
I can babysit you through the steps if you want, i bought nfts multiple times, my profile picture is one
Optional: Put GTON/FTM into a liquidity pool.
I would recommend that you install MetaMask.io from their official site, and NEVER search on google for MetaMask or BeefyFinance, since there are a lot of scammers/phishing sites paying for ads.
I enjoy using Brave browser + MetaMask.
#DYOR
Popular question, probably should go in the FAQ. I'll repost my earlier answer:
Optional: Put GTON/FTM into a liquidity pool.
It's the same experience as using pancakeswap with a different set of apps/extensions.
You should install the Metamask extension and have an have a read of this.
This is a copy and paste from a post I did the other day
Get the metamask extention for your browser. https://metamask.io/download
One installed and set up you should now be able to connect to zed using it. You should be able to tie your same email address to it in the settings in zed.
Just a heads up, the fees for eth are massive at the moment. Zed and zed run on opensea both use wrapped eth on the polygon network. This is to avoid having to pay a massive fee when entering each race.
This high fee problem arises when you want to get money into your account in the first place( it's been as high as $80 or so on the ethereum network lately)
My recent solution has been to buy Matic on your exchange and then send that to your metamask wallet address.
Then you can go to 1inch and swap your Matic for eth on the polygon network.
This can save you a lot of fees at the moment.

Depends which cryptos you have. If they are an ERC20, BEP20, or other smart contract chain tokens then metamask should work for you. You will just need to go to the metamask website https://metamask.io and download their app for your phone or addon for your browser. Metamask is about as safe as it gets without buying a hardware wallet.
Youtube also has guides for everything. Just be very careful of fake websites and never share your keys or seedphrase with anybody. No matter who they claim to be.
Just reposting this with my actual account. The "perfect display" one is one the work computer was logged into.

This is what support i got from Bitpay when i sent to the wrong address. With a bit of messing about i got all mine back.
Depending on what you have done, the below instructions may be useful.
Please consider importing your wallet on another app like Metamask on Google Chrome (-Not Firefox -).
To import your Ether wallet on Metamask
Go to https://metamask.io/
Get the browser addon: Click on the browser you are using, that, will take you to the addon setup page. Click + Add to Firefox (Chrome, Opera or the browser you are using). When prompted to authorize the addon, click Add
Click on the Metamask button next to the browser's URL bar, this will open up a new tab.
Click Get started
Click Import Wallet > I agree -Enter the phrase
Enter the password (choose a password, this has nothing to do with the BitPay app)
Check the terms of use agreement after reading them
Click Import > All done
To get your BitPay wallet 12-word recovery phrase:
Open the BitPay application.
Click the gear icon in the lower right corner.
Under Crypto Wallets and Keys, select the key which contains the wallet
Click Backup
Then add the token:
Open Metamask
Scroll all the way down
Click Add Token
Search for the token
Click the token found
Click Next
Click Add Tokens
Now you should see the funds.
> who said i need to re-autheticate the wallet in metamask database through a page called api-meta.online...can somebody confirm if this is legit?
This is a scam. MetaMask does not have a database, and we don't own/run any website other than https://metamask.io, and also our support pages which are linked from https://metamask.io
I would not use that wallet again if you don't know how the crypto was taken from it. It could be compromised some how. If you are going to use a wallet in the future, you should use Metamask. You can download it from their official website https://metamask.io/
Out of all the extensions available, MetaMask is the most vetted one I know. So yes, I’d prefer and recommend MetaMask. It’s fairly straight forward.... https://metamask.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020394612-How-to-connect-a-Trezor-or-Ledger-Hardware-Wallet
Edit: for mobile, here’s MetaMask
These are very generic and basic steps I had to go through on my particular device and is my own experience. Use them at your own risk, I can't be responsible for lost/stolen/missing or any other failed transactions that could lead to a loss of assets, sorry. I'm new to CryptoCurrency generally to and am always scared I'll screw something up myself constantly...
You can always try to restore in a different wallet. Considering you are in a "last resort" scenario it would seem, I would suggest looking at restoring it on a hot wallet.
You just need to figure out if the seedphrase is valid, so you only need to really check the balance of a single token.
If you have ETH or ERC20 then you're best of trying with metamask : https://metamask.io/download.html
If you have BTC then I would suggest choosing one from the list on bitcoin.org: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet?step=5&platform=windows . I highly recommend Sparrow Wallet, it's very easy to use.
Inputting the seedphrase into either will let you know pretty quick if you're seed is correct.
setup a metamask wallet https://metamask.io
add shibu inu to the wallet by 'add token' --> 'custom token' then add the Shibu Inu contract address from https://etherscan.io/token/0x95ad61b0a150d79219dcf64e1e6cc01f0b64c4ce (you will know it's correct as it will recognise and autofill)
withdraw from binance into the wallet (my fee was 2.6M, an hour ago)
when the shibaswap is launched, go to it and link the wallet to the swap.
Metamask is considered secure. Get it directly from https://metamask.io/. Like it says here, if you are in Coinbase wallet, you are not moving your coins to Metamask, but rather adding the ability of MM to 'read & manage' your SHIBA wallet address you already have at Coinbase wallet. (The same should be for Trust wallet.)
Create https://metamask.io/ wallet ---> Deposit ETH into that wallet --> Go to https://app.uniswap.org/ and connect your wallet --> Swap ETH for Kishu (Set Slippage to 7%) --> Make sure you do less than MAX eth to cover gas fees.
I’m on my phone ATM but of you want to know how this is done you could take a look at https://metamask.io/logo.js As far as I can see this is fake perspective through an svg. I’ll try getting a simple example running in a codepen or something like that.
looks like it, it's here:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/metamask/id1438144202?_branch_match_id=912020667708022096
and to be super safe you could grab the link from their website here under iOS https://metamask.io/download.html
If you’ve entered your seed phrase to any of the hijacked sites, or if you think your seed phrase could have been compromised some other way, I recommend you to generate a new MetaMask wallet in a secure computer with a freshly installed MetaMask browser extension from the official https://metamask.io , make sure to backup the new seed phrase and keep it in a safe place. Then you can move any funds that you may have left in the alleged compromised wallet to the new an address of the newly created wallet.
No! Don't do it, its a way for scammers to get your private keys! The only official website for MetaMask is MetaMask.io - so anything else you can consider a SCAM/Phishing attempt.
this happened to me as well, still trying to figure out what happened. seems it might be that Metamask is not displaying the correct amount, and hopefully not malware for both our sake.
I've already tried the following from Metamask FAQ page to no avail, but you may try too:
"1) Close down your browser where you have the MetaMask extension installed and open it again.
2) Switch networks up top by clicking on "Main Ethereum Network", selecting the Ropsten Test Network, and then switching back again.
3) Execute an account reset
3) Install Metamask using another supported browser (Firefox, Chrome, Brave) from our official website https://metamask.io , and then try restoring your wallet using the 12 words seed phrase in case the issue is only present in the browser you are currently using."

if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears as well
Coinbase and Kraken are two exchanges I could recommend.
If you want ETH quickly, you could install the MetaMask browser extension and try their 'Buy ETH' button, but the fees are much higher.
More generally, this is advice I gave to a 50 year old wanting to invest in crypto for his retirement:
(copy-pasting)
No one knows what the future will bring, so take this advice with a grain of salt: stick with Ethereum.
Buy a Ledger Nano S or Nano X to store your ETH securely. Hold with at least a 10 to 20 year investment horizon, through rain or shine.
Buy a smaller sum of ETH and use that to speculate and learn about DeFi by trying to earn a return from it. You can go to https://defipulse.com to see what the major apps are. Don't play with apps that aren't on that list as they are much more likely to be pump and dumps or have major security vulnerabilities.
Sorry for the situation you are going through.
Have you recently downloaded the extension and installed it in your browser? Where did you download it from?
Have you checked out the latest URLs you were visiting to see if any of them could be a phishing site asking for your seed phrase?
Have you ever exported your MetaMask seed phrase or the private keys of your addresses and entered them somewhere?
Have you checked if your computer and browser are free of any viruses, trojans, or malicious extensions?
Where do you store your wallet seed phrase backup?
If you think your wallet, your browser, or your computer might have been compromised, please create a brand new MetaMask wallet by installing it in any of the supported browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Opera) from our official website https://metamask.io in a secure computer.
Make sure to correctly backup the newly created seed phrase by writing it down in paper. Also, make sure that you have any manually imported private keys backed up too.
Once you are sure you have backed up the new seed (12 words phrase) and any other specific private key, you can move any funds that you have in your primary/old wallet to an address of the new wallet.
Once you've moved all funds to the new seed phrase's addresses in one of the browsers installation, you should consider the old seed phrase compromised and stop using it completely.
Unfortunately, if your funds have been sent to an address you don't control, there is nothing we can do from here, due to the irreversible nature of cryptocurrencies, transactions cannot be stopped or recalled once they have been sent to the network.
Incase you don't want to read the article - Basically Metamask app is now available to download on your mobile phones (iOS and Android) : https://metamask.io/
With all the previous hacks with scammers copying / phishing / launching cloned versions of metamask / myetherewallet etc.. please be careful what you are downloading. Check for original source multiple times !

>Why have 2 wallets in a single browser? On top of that, there doesn't seem to have an easy way to transfer the BATs in my cryptowallet into my reward wallet.
In the current version as of this post, 0.69, there are two types of crypto wallets contained within Brave Browser.
The Brave Rewards Wallet is an Uphold Wallet presented in the browser. It is a single purpose wallet for storing BAT and interacting with the Brave Rewards tipping interface. However, with the most recent version of Brave Browser, this single purpose wallet can now perform direct deposit into a Uphold Verified Wallet...
In prior releases of Brave, one would need to register for a Publisher account with Brave. And then create an Uphold account. And then link the Publisher account with the Uphold account. At that point, earnings from Brave Rewards could be self-tipped into the Publisher account and then swept into the Uphold account at the beginning of each month on Payout Day (the 8th of each month).
Now, self-tipping is unnecessary. The Uphold account is still necessary if withdrawal of earned BAT is the goal. However, there still seems to be two Uphold wallets related to Brave Rewards. The new verification process appears to seamlessly connect the prior single purpose BAT wallet and the Verified Uphold Wallet. Confusingly, both of these wallets are Uphold wallets. But... the two wallet system for BAT is probably necessary, as many Brave Rewards participants may not wish to proceed with the required KYC process for verified status with Uphold. Furthermore, it appears that the verified wallet can be disconnected and reconnected at will with the Browser interface.
The general purpose Ethereum wallet is a Metamask clone. It can be used for storing any Ethereum based token or used to authenticate to Web 3.0 enabled websites.
This is the solution to buy crypto for fiat and back to bank wire or get money to and from your bank and never use a centralized exchange:

Setup a Coinbase account and use the Coinbase account purely as an on/off ramp in and out of fiat. Then you don't have to use a centralized exchange.

We have to stop using the centralized exchanges!
They only extract value from the community. They take the profits and they give us nothing back!
They give the technology a bad reputation every time they falsify trade volume, get hacked and lose customer funds or in some cases, flat out steal customer funds!
You put your tokens at risk every single time you send them to a centralized exchange!! You don't have to do that. You can trade right from your own wallet and always control of your tokens!
Thank you for the feedback. There are a few articles online showing how to do with Metamask or MyEtherWallet, and a few javascript code examples in medium.com articles out there. It may be worthwhile to make two guides for new and advanced users.
We are looking for locale reps to promote and support the service in their area. Revenue sharing opportunity.
That sounds feasible. If an attacker would like you to deposit into a wallet they control, they may be trying to place this compromised wallet into your computer.
Please be careful, and only use MetaMask in a computer you trust as safe, make sure you download the extension from our official website links only: https://metamask.io
Ledger Nano S with https://www.myetherwallet.com/
Trezor would also be an acceptable option. Purely personal preference.
You could also check out https://metamask.io/ or even https://enjinwallet.io/ but I'd seriously consider picking up a hardware wallet if you have any amount of crypto and want to keep it secure.
Hello /u/honkaponka , as you have the seed phrase backed up, you should be able to use Chrome/Brave/Opera to install the MetaMask extension there and check if you can access your MetaMask wallet.
Regarding the Firefox installation that doesn't seem to work, did you try removing the addon completely? That should remove the Local Storage MetaMask data in the browser too. Then install the addon from https://metamask.io/ to see if it installs correctly and sets the storage location successfully.
If you need further assistance, you can contact us at support [at] metamask.io
it's very easy but i don't think MyEtherWallet offers it as an option when creating a wallet.
Parity or Metamask are both great for generating a mnemonic seed:

I do not use Ethereum (mainnet) on Android, so my experience is limited. Metamask is supposed to work on Android as a browser extension. It can generate as many addresses as you like, all of which can be backed up and recovered via a single seed phrase.
Among native apps I tried on Android, there is Lunary (can be found on F-Droid as well), which can generate as many wallets as you like, although you will have to back them up separately.
There are also options like MyEtherWallet.com.
^ This. I think the basic fundamentals can be created in Javascript and use a relevant API to have it functional in MetaMask
Thanks, yes, I have DNT.
District0x is doing a terrible job of educating their investors on this.
The instructions on their voting page say "Enable the MetaMask or Parity extension in your browser"
No link! It's in the article CabooseRooster posted however, https://metamask.io/
If voting on districts essential for the success of this project, why make it so hard to vote?
Your browser needs to be "Ethereum enabled". You can install MetaMask plugin for Chrome which turns your browser into a web3 browser and allows you to interact with dapps. With MetaMask you don't need to download or host the entire blockchain.
>My first serious concern is usability
With the MetaMask Chrome extension you have a very usable abstraction around smart contracts on Ethereum. Just click "submit". No need to download the whole blockchain.
EtherDelta support Adchain token. You can have a look at the orderbook by downloading the Metamask extension: https://metamask.io
There is currently a Sell order of 30000 ADT @ 0.00130 ETH. You can access to the ADT/ETH orderbook here: https://etherdelta.github.io/#ADT-ETH
Etherdelta (decentralized exchange) is where I got mine: https://etherdelta.github.io/
It's a bit different than a normal exchange because it involves smart contracts but it's super easy to figure out, and much safer (they don't store any of your information). I believe you can use Mist to access it but I have MetaMask (https://metamask.io/) for the exchanges. I transfer money to my MetaMask address then use it to trade on EtherDelta. Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions.
Well, to be honest, I smoked a bit of finger hash last night, then answered that question. Only to realize I never answered the question at all. Lol. :)
The one service I am using now is Oasis decentralized exchange, with metamask chrome plug-in. This is where I exchange ETH for GNT/MKR/DGD. The only fees are gas, and I am not giving the exchanges any more money. Not an incredible amount of users yet, but I am very happy with the experience
Jaxx is also good as you can have it both as an app on the phone and as an app on Google Chrome on the PC.
Notice that Jaxx uses HD wallets, also for ether. This has some advantages, but also adds some complications.
For PC, I would recommend https://www.myetherwallet.com
Then there is also https://metamask.io/ . That allows you to run dapps directly in the Chrome browser.
> but will it be the ONLY alternative browser?
most likely not. Why would it? It will be pretty awesome, so the motivation will be low :) but you know how it is. There are always alternatives.
There is already kumavis' metamask https://metamask.io/ an in-browser solution in the making.
In order to plug-in a different dapp store you probably wont need to build your own version of Mist, just set a config parameter or even maybe just visit a page?

ok lets walk through it.
what features do you need to implement to setup something like steam marketplace?
- an account system for all clients
- link accounts to banks, CCs and other payment information
- ability to trade items for money
- system to enable trade
- system to manage who owns what, especially after transactions occur
- system to keep track of all items in the store, who owns them, whose selling them and for how much.
this is just off the top of my head. i'm sure in reality theres plenty more.
leveraging an existing NFT/blockchain platform saves you time and effort for almost all of this.
"accounts" are people's blockchain wallets for example [metamask](https://metamask.io/) , it handles user accounts, what they own, their payment info , initiate trades, etc.
the underlying blockchain platform itself are the systems that handles transactions, transfer of ownership, etc.
they dont have to make any of these things from scratch because its already there.

Look here https://metamask.io/faqs/, and it tels you. Duckduckgo is your friend. Simple. You use the Metamask phrase. Very simple, Metamask is a software wallet, Ledger a hardware Wallet. Enter Hardware wallet on the hardware, enter software wallet in the software.

mainly eth and erc-20 tokens (those who are built on ethereum). Depending on what you want to do with it, you should either send your ethereum through a bridge to a layer 2 solution such as polygon or (and this is what I would recommend) go to https://spacestation.zone (which is gravity bridge aka an IBC bridge from ethereum to the Cosmos ecosystem), where you can swap your ETH into whatever you like for pennies and do whatever you like in the ecosystem for transaction fees of 0-0.02 cents.
You can trace it using the new Metamask version with many cool features, it is still in beta stage and i love the NFT Viewer features that shows all NFTs in your wallet follow this link to check it out i am sure it will help you finding your NFT https://metamask.io/BETA-Versio...

Hey, there is no app for avalanche on the play store. None.
Instead, there is the official avax web wallet: https://wallet.avax.network/access
And the metamask wallet. Metamask.io
With metamask, you need to configure it for avalanche. :|
