CoinMetro is the only exchange to receive a 5 out of 5 on TrustPilot.
If you have a negative experience and leave a bad review their CEO will literally chase you to fix your issue. Just sayin'.
Annex C, 1.3 Opting into Staking Services & Staking Reward Terms of the Kraken TOS:
> ... The percentage and timing of such remittances will: (i) be determined by Kraken in its sole discretion; (ii) be subject to Kraken’s staking fee; (iii) vary by the Supported Protocol; and (iv) be further detailed in your Kraken Account. You agree and understand that Kraken does not guarantee that you will receive Staking Rewards and that the applicable percentage of Staking Rewards (i) is an estimate only and not guaranteed, (ii) may change at any time in Kraken’s sole discretion, and (iii) may be more or less than the actual Staking Rewards Kraken receives from the Supported Protocol.
I'm looking at those right now... Coinomi seems popular, but I haven't tried it so I couldn't say... trying it this week.
My big suggestions are the standard ones:
When my kids were young, I never had cash around... so I would pay their allowance in bitcoin (literally $1, $2 at the time). I was their bank... and if they wanted cash, they could send $2 in coin to me, and I'd give them $2 in cash. Since I had done all 5 of the above I had the backup (3 phones ago) and looked at it recently... OMG! So if you give your granddaughter $100 in crypto now, and find out when she's married that it is worth $100,000 you'll want to make sure you can help her retrieve it.
I do recommend a password manager... that will help you keep most of this stuff locked up tight
Disclaimer: To be clear (Mr. IRS), Any currency or cryptographic tokens given to minors of relation to me are gifts and unbinding. I am in no way entering into any monitary excange agreements with said minors.
Exodus is a really good choice as well and you get the native like staking rate directly in the wallet along with other coin support and exchanges. You do have to click a button to collect your staking rewards every so often but that's not a big deal https://www.exodus.io/
It's unfortunate you lost your bitcoin, but it was either as a result of your password being compromised (and no 2FA) or the fact that you had activated your API-key at some point. Coinbase's server itself has never been compromised.
Please note the difference between regular API calls and the activation of your API-key. See here to learn the difference, and how to turn it on or off: https://coinbase.com/docs/api/authentication
I'd highly recommend activating 2FA on your account, changing the password to something that's not shared by any other account you use, and sweeping your computer for bugs. Try AVG-free.
Here's my Stellar XLM referral code. Any help will be reeaaaaally appreciated :).

thanks for response. Please note that u/ElPregio tried to fish data as it is visible below in the comments and also in the picture of his chat attempt with me.
Rosie from Coinbase here!. I'm sorry to hear you want to close your account. The fastest way is to do that is to turn your computer off and then on again. Please email us at if that doesn't work. Thanks!
Due recent security breach on Coinbase, we are forced to delay payments - incoming and outgoing, and also have to close some accounts.
> * Users who sent their Bitcoins outside Coinbase may lose their account and funds will be held for up to 4-7 weeks.
> * Users using Bitcoins for gambling purposes.
> * Users selling / trading Bitcoins aquired via Coinbase / GDAX are not allowed to exchange them on p2p websites like Localbitcoins due to regulation.
> * We do not accept incoming Bitcoin transfers from website like Buysomebitcoins - Buy bitcoin with Debit / Credit card instantly! because they are in direct competition against Coinbase.**
Put it is a crypto wallet. Each currency has its own wallet. If you own multiple crypto currencies a multi coin wallet be a better easier to use as you would use one software vs multiple. Exodus is well know multi crypto wallet. Coinbase does offer a multi crypto wallet for mobile device. The wallet is separate from your coinbase account. You could link the wallet to our ac to make send coins easier.
Above are called hot wallet. They are connected to the internet so thay are secure as the device they are used one. If the device gets hacked the wallet might get hacked as well.
For extra safety, you could use cold wallet. Cold wallet is an offline wallet it could receive coins but not send them. Once a cold wallet is connected online is best to treat it as a hot wallet. Cold wallets could be paper wallet or hardware wallet. Paper wallet is just a piece of paper that has the privet and public keys print on it. Hardware wallet, like ledger or tezos, are usb like device what stores your private key. They supposed multiple currencies and but easier to use than paper wallets. Hardware wallet cost between $ 50 - $150. I don't think hardware wallet is worth it unless you are storeing +100 thousands of dollars.
Note the securer the option, the harder/longer it becomes to exchange the crypto to fiat due to the extra step is needed to move money around into the exchange. Also with all options above it is important to make sure that you don't lose your private keys as if you lose it you will not be able to retrieve your wallet.
Hey Pun,
You have to go to your transactions page to do that (https://coinbase.com/transactions). On that page, click on "Send Money" on the upper right corner. You can then paste a BTC address (of another wallet), amount, and message for the transfer.
You can PM me or email us at if you need any more help (email will be faster).
Got this suggestion from CB support:
1) If you have the Authy app on your phone, uninstall it
2) Complete the steps at https://www.authy.com/phones/reset
3) If you want to use Authy to get your verification tokens, please re-install the app. If you want to get your verification tokens via SMS or voice, please DON'T re-install the app!
Evidently a new change is that if you have Authy on your phone you can only get tokens via Authy. To get SMS/voice tokens you have to uninstall Authy.
Also, Authy says that the Heartbleed shindig caused them to "rotate your seeds", whatever that means:
Your only option is to contact Coinbase at this point. It’s up to them as to whether they’ll help you out. It’s really important to check addresses, especially when sending ETH tokens to exchanges. If it were sent to your own wallet, then using your “Celo address,” it would appear because the Celo deposit address is the same as your ETH address.
Good luck, and hope you get some help. Coinbase support, like all exchanges currently, are severely swamped these days so hopefully you get it taken care of in a timely manner (if possible at all)
Here's the issue with this tho...
Your title says "Coinbase is giving away free coin"...
THEY'RE NOT!
The only free coins they give away are Celo, XLM and BTC for referrals.
Everything about this is fishy.
Don't trust "airdrops".
https://aws.amazon.com/solutions/case-studies/coinbase/ They should have no problems with the customer growth if you read this. Yet they fail on peaks and people are locked out of their accounts when the 2FA stops working and for me even my secret key doesn't work. They have no business handeling this much money

I was stuck on waitlist until I tried using the brave browser and it verified me through each of the waitlists (I couldn't get past them on chrome). Not sure why it worked or if it works for everyone, but may be worth a shot. I'll add my referral link for the browser: https://brave.com/rus619
I dont know what I am doing thats so different but I have never had a single problem with Coinbase. Except problems stemming from my own ignorance which a little info helped resolve. I use the API with Cryptowat.ch so I don't really mess with the proper coinbase sites or apps but when I did it always worked fine for me.
Coinbase pro or Coinbase? If its regular coinbase, you are selling/buying at market price, which means if you want to buy 9 ExampleCoin, and hit buy, if there are only 4 ExampleCoin available at the price you see (market price) and lets say 5 more ExampleCoin for a slightly different price, it will just buy all of those, even if some are slightly more expensive, if you are on coinbase pro make sure you're using limit sell and limit buy. If you're on coinbase and want more control over it use coinbase pro. Buying at market DOES mean that you'll usually buy quicker than if you were to put up a limit buy order, but you'll be sure of what price you're buying at with a limit buy. And if you haven't already done so, get some free crypto from coinbase here: https://coinbase.com/earn/xlm/invite/wqmz3sdf
France falls under the eligible country list. Coinbase has said people in supported countries may indicate their interest and join the waitlist. However, due to popular demand in those countries, it may take some time to be able to start earning -- even if you are an eligible customer.

Basically just watch a few very short videos about Stellar and you get $10 in XLM. Don’t even have to watch the full videos, just start the video, then click on the “quiz” question and answer it. I found the answers to be pretty obvious.
> As a newbie, what steps do I need to take to make it impossible to get hacked and lose my funds?
"impossible" is impossible. Best you can get is improbable, but even that requires so much work, few would be willing to do it. The amount of work is far greater than your $5.00 balance.
But since I'm bored, someone with $50,000 instead of $5 may find it useful.
In Robinhood you’re basically “betting” on the price crypto will be. You can buy and sell but don’t actually own your coins bc they aren’t a crypto wallet. You can’t transfer coin into or out of Robinhood as of yet.
GDAX and something like https://cryptowat.ch could do the job too. Did you know Bitfinex had a breach last year ? Consider all aspects of an exchange before you start throwing money on there. Rage quitting and making decisions on emotion rather than research could always end badly, or at least in the exact same position you were earlier.
No fee on both your questions. But just to be clear, we're talking about a straight ACH deposit and NOT a wire transfer. That's the key to the no fee. Once you've done what you said, you can transfer the BTC/LTC/ETH you bought to a wallet or to Binance for trading to get altcoins
Basically Coinbase is giving out $10 worth of XLM for free. Just watch a few 2 min videos. When you're done. You can use your link to send to others and your friend and you both ger $10 more. Here's my link: https://coinbase.com/earn/xlm/invite/zj71rcvn

you will not be able to use Coinbase again, ever. You need to find alternatives :
Do not try to make another account, or use another number, bank account, you will get banned again and will have your coins and funds locked for 4 weeks
I would not use that wallet again if you don't know how the crypto was taken from it. It could be compromised some how. If you are going to use a wallet in the future, you should use Metamask. You can download it from their official website https://metamask.io/
There is a fee you pay for most coins and Coinbase might combine the fee into the transaction instead of splitting it out. The $54.49 is the fee you pay to use their exchange. All exchanges I have seen have some type of fee. Running an exchange costs money for bandwidth, hardware, and personnel.
Most coins require an exchange to run, and thus require exchange fees. But there are some exchanges working right now that have no fees! But trading volume is low and people won't go there until trading volume increases. If you want to buy X you have to have a seller of X at the price you want otherwise you have no deal. BISQ is one what I call the "direct networks".
There are additional fees for using a credit card because the credit card company charges these fees, and the exchange passes these on to you. But with a retail store, stores just raise their prices to cover these fees so you don't see the actual fee itself. But stores still pay it. And many major credit cards have disallowed charging crypto currency at all. (Though you might use a cash advance to your crypto account but that will again, possibly incur more fees.)
On top of that, your bank can charge even more fees depending on how you do the transaction. Like a Western Union money transfer is $25 a pop. But an ACH bank transfer (which takes 7-10 days) is free.
Actually, it depends on which authentication mechanism is used with the API. The Coinbase wallet app uses OAuth2 authentication, so it should be fine. There have been issues in the past when using the 'API key' authentication. Here's more information about the different authentication mechanisms. But yea, you can check if you have created any 'API key's by going to https://coinbase.com/account/api
True, though a break usually does not take more than a couple of months. I stopped using their services as they have ignored my issue for far too long. Only a few more days and I will be able to file a legal case against them.

Hey -
We're always looking for more ways to secure our customer's funds - I'll definitely pass this suggestion along to our engineering team.
Also, you might be interested in a new feature that was just pushed out: IP whitelists for account access. You can specify specific IP addresses (or ranges) that can access your account here: https://coinbase.com/account (at the bottom of the page).
Oh I see. While I agree with the “Coinbase effect” thing, I also can’t turn a blind eye to Binance, Shopify, Celo and other big players adopting it. It’s always 50/50 when it comes to Alt coins, but adoption on a larger scale is they key to this one I think. All alt coins are speculative and should be taken with caution. I just got in early and I have the luxury to wait and see
If coinbase support Celo which they do, they can help you get it back. Same happened to me. Also, this year they intend to roll out a new system where you can recover your funds if sent to a wrong address. Good luck.
I turned my free coins into keep watching tutorials and try to find 4 or 5 coins that you like and start keeping up with them. I kind of got carried away with Celo and now I’m a long term investor...
Yes. As soon as you finish the videos and quiz. The free Celo and XLM will be deposited shortly. It's not instant, but it's a short time. I'd say within a few hours at most. I don't exactly remember, it was a few months ago that I did it. But I'm pretty sure it came quick enough that I immediately transferred it into BTC.
Thank you so much for your response, u/Grouchy-Ad-435. We must kindly advise that Coinbase only supports Celo (CGLD) and not Celo Dollar. We have provided a link with all supported assets:
We have also provided a link to reach our support team if you are worried about specific funds not appearing. We appreciate attempted to speak with live support already. This will allow you to create a case.
Oh that is a good point. I'll try again later and give it some more time. I use Celo and the transactions are very fast, but I see what you are saying about it might show it's in my account, but not be fully there.
I think it can sit for up to two weeks. In any case, they keep the fee regardless of whether the transaction was a success or failure.
I would think CoinBase would have this covered. Having client transactions stuck for gas fees would be very bad for them.
I believe you can hunt down transactions queued in mempool here: https://blockchair.com/ethereum/mempool/transactions
However, I'm not sure LINK tokens show up here.
You are comparing apples to oranges. (market orders vs. limit orders)
Like I said above, you can always use "Pro" with "limit orders (sell/buy)"
Similarly Robinhood's market orders have 1-5% spread.
