I have similar issues and have wound up really enjoying a trackball. You'd think it be bad for games but it's actually quite good at all games. Even FPSs, it just takes some getting used to, but nothing beats being able to just spin the ball sideways to rotate your character 360. Using that inertia of the ball can really help. Just do keep in mind there will be an adjustment period, so maybe avoid ranked games.
I'd get something with this sort of design. Avoid the "track ball mice" stuff that relies too heavily on fingers.

There are other options some are free others have a yearly subscription: https://alternativeto.net/software/grammarly-grammar-checker/
I like what it does, but it has serious privacy and security issues.
The more secure competitor is Language Tool but it’s not nearly as effective. It didn’t even catch errors I deliberately included to see if it would catch.
Grammarly’s privacy issues limit it’s usefulness in a professional setting because I can’t use it for a lot of documents.
I think something in you signature raises more questions than it solves problems.
Have you considered using an AI writing checker like Language Tool? It can be helpful in identifying things you won’t catch on a read or re-read.
A creative, but not a cheap solution is to get a tablet with stylus support, take a picture of the assignment sheet, add the photo a drawing app line correction such as https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.medibang.android.paint.tablet Which would add a small to the writing, but will smoothe out the input, which actually for more carefree writing (letters are more legible in the end) Or to upload the photo to an app like One Note and just text boxes where ever needed (might be slow at first, but will allow typing instead of writing even on printed govermental forms (I picked on a few tricks overtime, to make my horrendous handwriting a lesser problem in my life)
Can you type notes? Maybe have a second printer tray with index card size paper (3x5 or something) to quickly print notes.
Can you use email? If you use email make it about records management, email people things in the name of ensuring a record exists.
You can try a sticky note printer, but your employer would need to approve the expense and regular expense for the paper.
Some models are mobile-compatible only, that one works with desktops as well. They all have mixed reviews, are expensive, and the required paper is expensive.
