I bought a handheld air duster (here) from Amazon on Prime Day for about $45, I think they're about $60+ or so normally. I use it to clean all the filters, little flappys, and crevasses on both my Dyson and Roomba (I have 2 dogs, I need all the reinforcements..) It doesn't get rid of all the dust in my Dyson's filters, since that stuff gets really caked in there, but I think it's sufficient for maintenance.
Honestly, I use it for everything. I wish it had more oomf, but I think it's a good compromise in lieu of a real, big kid air compressor.. Which, if I was going to, I would go with one from Harbor Freight, but I live in an apartment... and I'm cheap.
If you go this route, now or in the future, be sure to do this outside and away from open windows as it's nasty but also oddly satisfying.
Go for a cheaper brand. I highly recommend this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Coway-AP-1512HH-Mighty-Purifier-White/dp/B01728NLRG/
I have 2 cats, and I have been using 4 of these at home, one in each room, for more than 2 years. They pick up an incredible amount of fur.
Wait, did I understand that correctly? The V10 is just out now in the UK, despite Dyson being a British brand?
I've got mine 3 years ago from amazon.de...
Have you tried adjusting the gate on the head to the position marked with the minus (-)? That makes it much easier.
Regarding the trigger, it does have to be pressed but is a hair trigger so only needs to be pressed lightly, on mine when the v11 hangs from my hand it basically presses itself.
I do know of someone who had arthritis so couldn’t comfortably pull the trigger who used a clip (linked below) to hold the trigger but haven’t found a need myself. The idea of it needing the trigger is to make sure the battery runtime is as long as possible apparently. https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B001PGXKCS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_WUWzFbD7EXY22 to hold it but haven’t
I think Dyson has a video on YouTube showing how hanging it from your hand rather than trying to hold it can be more comfortable and less tiring for your arm and hand but could be mistaken.
Don't buy the Dyson supersonic hair dryer without reading about all the issues with it see TrustPilot
I've had a nightmare of a time with my purchase and getting their support to refund a product purchased 9 days ago is near impossible. Their support is really, really bad.
Buy the cheap alternative you'll be much happier.
Yep, leave reviews on TrustPilot or BBB
Lots of people on trustpilot are talking about forming a class action lawsuit. I'm pretty confident that's going to happen eventually with Dyson.
Several of their products have known issues that they downplay and they are also manipulating the reviews on their site to deceive consumers.
im not buying a battery for something i used like every 4 month... it was basically to clean crumbs off my computer desk.... I used it so little and thats what bugs me. My sootmaster vacuum is actually 25 year old (bought it used) and still going. I'll never buy dyson again... look at their trust pilot. https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.dyson.com How many batteries are you going to go through before you realize there ripping you off.
Thanks for your insight and experience ... Hmm. $180, on top of $439.99 orig. cost, in repairs for a fan that may just crap out again. So a couple of weeks ago, I purchased this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0792KWMF5?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
It's solid, has a negative ion air freshener and is quiet. Under $70.00, and I suppose after a few months, I can vacuum out the dust if needed. This thing pays the Dyson repair bill 2 1/2 times over. The Dyson was gifted to me, and all we hoped for was a nice appliance, not a friggin' science project.
Sometimes, I think we over-foo-foo ourselves with basic functions where the foo foo just doesn't pass return on investment, and only demands we spend the same money over and over again.
You could try this. The supersonic is rated for 1600W so this should cover it

Hey, sorry for the late response. I got this one - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085XX6F38?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Works fine. Might not go exactly as long as the original battery but haven't had any issues and would recommend it. I only use it on high power. I think I was getting 7 minutes on the original battery when it was good and get maybe 6 on this, but haven't really timed it.

It will be slightly different as my V11 has the newer brush head. There are lots of YouTube videos for how to take yours apart, If you can find the broken wire you can buy something like this to rejoin it easily.
I use the “Wella Eimi Strong Hold Mousse” - here’s the amazon link (though I did but this in the UK!)
This. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09K7PRFGJ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=APGZNZ13WYKBJ&psc=1 I have long very fine hair. I have this professional dryer that takes 20 minutes or more. This takes about 5. There was a 30% coupon leaving at at 75. The attachments are magnetic, there’s a slight groove they click in. I have no frizz. If anyone is getting frizz it’s me, very fine hair. It’s the first time using a dryer where my hair feels soft after. Much less I don’t look like Helena from orphan black. It actually looks like it’s styled already.
I'd bear cautious about using something like that. I bought this on Amazon awhile back and never ended up using it, a lot of the reviews mention the stress put on by the trigger causes the plastic on the Dyson to break off.
I use the floor attachment on my ottoman because the attachments for the machine are useless for cat hair, in my opinion. Whatever that doesn't get, then I use this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BAGTNAQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
Sorry it's not a vacuum attachment, but it works quite well.
Has anyone tried an aftermarket one? Something like this from amazon -WEILE Quick-Release Soft Roller Cleaner Head Accessory Replacement with LED Indicator for Dyson V7 V8 V10 V11 SV10 SV11 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner - click here. Just wondering what the thoughts would be as I have just recently purchased this unit and it was expensive, and I truly don't have another $110 to drop on the Dyson version at this time.
Thanks OP! Great product.
Tried to use your code but it expired so I created one. Feel free to use it.
I chose this option instead for the outsize. Holds all the attachments and my laser fluffy head too.

I honestly recommend just buying the right tool. I don't think that the Dyson is going to give you air that's targeted enough to do a great job on electronics. If someone did make an attachment, it'd probably run more than the $40 for this blower.
I have used the Dyson to shrink heat shrink fyi. I covered soldered connections when I installed my car radio.
I'm using this stand. Works great, very stable.

Of course, here's the Link and sorry the amount is about 5ml per tank (recommends 1/6 oz/5ml per gallon but I've found that 3-4ml works perfectly). Only thing I would say is to get a 2/4oz dropper and fill it with the solution, because this stuff is extremely concentrated and dangerous if spilled or if it gets on your skin. My routine is to refill the tank, add the recommended amount with a dropper to avoid spills because you don't want this stuff getting anywhere it's extremely caustic, gently shake and slide back in. I went from constant slime and weird mold to a clear tank after every refill.

This probably will do! Just know that you cannot fit any motorized tools. The carbon fibre brush should work.

Ah well spotted! And that's great to hear that it's the latest version. I wonder if there are any other improvements in the 2020 versus 2019 model.
As regards hard floors, most people on the Amazon review site say how the vacuum is great for hard surfaces. Wood floors might be a bit dicey since they could get scratched, but I assume you can turn the roller feature off?
Despite having lower CFM/suction compared to the Torque, the Absolute where I live is £120 more expensive than the Torque. Worst case scenario, I can always pick up the soft head separately later like this one selling for just £30 (much cheaper than Dyson prices it would seem).
Just a case now whether I should go for the extended 5 years warranty for £100 extra. Otherwise, it's only a 2 year warranty by default.
There are many adapters available on Amazon that *should* do the trick. I have a V8, which uses the same connection, and I bought the following adapter which works well enough. Just a work of caution - dyson's air-powered turbine tools require a lot of suction power to work properly. Unless you plan on only using the turbine tool in boost/max mode, you should just invest in the mini motorized head which uses a powered connection.
I haven’t actually bought any battery, but here’s an Amazon generic for $38 USD. This seller/brand has a 90 day return policy and a 1 year warranty, better than most. Hold them to it if something goes wrong. For so cheap, it might be worth a shot! As long as the voltage is the same, you should be good. It also has better reviews than some of the other ones for sale...
Thank you, Miles. It hasn't blown up yet Do you think this converter would work for the Dyson? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C1LPMRQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1R8L03PV3JC58&psc=1
It claims to allow 2000 watts, and according to the Dyson representative, this unit is 1400 watts.
