I removed all my stickers for a cleaner look. If you are hesitant, check out options on amazon if you decide you want a new sticker later. I found several i like more than the stock Fx4 offroad I had, and amazon options are way cheaper than the Ford dealer.
I use a foam cannon and a pressure washer. Foam it up and use a microfiber mitt to wash it and then rinse it off. foam cannon
I got the grill from americantrucks.com and I got the headlights from amazon. I’ll share some links.
Spec-d from Amazon Spec-D Tuning 2LHP-F15015JM-TM Black Projector Headlight (Led Rim) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LZ62IJU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_WiD7CbWH5AW63 They're ok for the price, but after 2 years they are already starting to crack. The led driving light is cheap, so I changed them to proper morimoto hid, and added switchback turn signals. The projector cutoff is clean and adjustable.
I have the same truck. I put these in, they are super bright and look great compared to stock. Also did the fog lights.

I found a 13” on Amazon that works fairly well, I was running a shorty like OP and reception was too degraded to be useful.

I would suggest for anyone else to look for some torx security bolts. A bit harder to remove by someone if they wanna take your nice setup. If you have a tonneau cover like op then it doesn’t matter as much. The box link set I got off amazon came with the torx bolts. I bet the box link could go right over that too if you still wanted to use it.
This was the box link set I got as my truck did not come with them. This one is no longer available even though I got it like a month ago.
Personally I don’t like the kicked out step. I bought these and put them on a few weeks ago and I’m happy with them. Wide enough (5”) but they don’t stick out. Incredibly easy to install.

That's always an option too. I haven't bought them myself but I did see them slumming on Amazon for F150 stuff.
I had this exact problem and finally found a solution. It is for Android, however. You might be able to find an equivalent, but hopefully this helps someone:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cp2.start.and.play.music.player
You can set your app when connecting to SYNC to Audible and it will consistently resume your book. One note: it works best when you leave the Audible app active in your notifications. If you don't, it will sometimes launch with the notification being blank, displaying "Unknown" for the author and such. When this happens, your progress isn't tracked and the next time you resume your book it will rewind to the previously left off point.
Happy listening!

LOL - This kit is specifically for the STX grille so you don't have to cut any of the honeycomb pieces on your grille. I think the main difference is that it is four lights instead of the typical three lights on a Raptor. If it was three lights it just wouldn't align correctly without cutting something.

With some minor modifications, a fork attachment of this flavor can be bolted directly to the box link mount. This didn't work for me as my MTB is too long to fit perpendicular in the bed.
Bored one day, I made my own with some square aluminum and L brackets bolted in-line with the lower cleats. It works well, but it's tough to beat the convenience of tossing them over the tailgate with a quality pad, which in my opinion is a better place to spend your money.
There are aftermarket steps. I have a truck camper, so I'm installing this:

I took a gamble on a set of stamped aluminum plates on Amazon. Couldn't find alot of information on them, but decide it was worth the risk given it was through Amazon.

I haven’t noticed any difference with it. I do live in the suburbs and spend most my time near a greater metropolitan area so I wouldn’t be able to notice if I’m missing a broadcast that the longer antenna might pick up.
Same thing happened to me. Factory antenna just long enough to scrape on the door. No damage, but a heck of a screech.
I replaced it with this 13" model, and I've noticed no signal degradation, although I've not performed side-by-side tests in rural areas.
Hope this helps.
If you’re trying to hook up to the stock head unit and stuff, I dunno, a bit of a pain.
With almost any aftermarket head unit, you can use basically any generic backup camera. I recommend the logo camera style, it is perfectly positioned to be able to see your hitch.
2009-2014 Ford F-150 Tailgate Back Up Camera Housing Bezel & Emblem UPDATED OEM https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00X6RZ5H2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_GJY66X6Q73Z1ZFEA9W2W
If you do go aftermarket radio and camera, definitely do a body ground and pick a camera that can draw power at the head unit. This is preferable to pulling power and ground from the reverse lights for a few reasons. Other than my doing a shitty job with the wiring for n my reverse/tail lights the first time, this was a pretty easy mod.
Not sure how great they are but the seem fine to me so far

They make a slim "bug/rock shield" that attaches to the front of the hood. This will reduce the amount of rocks hitting your windshield. After the 4th windshield on my 2015 I put one on and have had only one chip since then. it has been almost 4 years since I added it.

Back in the 80s, I blacked out my car’s bumpers with 3M decal tape. If you have the patience to remove the plastic bits and reinstall them, that may be the neatest approach.

If your truck is fx4 and you are worried about the impact on resale for removing them, then you can always add them back later. Plenty of aftermarket options in addition to the dealer selling direct replacements.
I removed the fx4 decals and pointless ecoboost badges after a week or two. I still have the windows sticker with all of the options/packages listed in case someone is unfamiliar with trucks when I sell it somewhere down the road.
If you wait months/years and then decide to remove stickers, be aware it will have flawless paint underneath. Planning a thorough cleaning and buffing surrounding scratches might be necessary.
Easy with this I got on Amazon, as long as you can see with a flashlight? Retractable claw hook It’s strong enough and that 64” should be long enough?
I bought these and installed them about 2 months ago. They are bright white and work very well. I also have the Morimoto XB Hybrids and these just add the perfect touch with the headlights.
I use these and enjoy them. Also use the same brand in my wife's car with no complaints. I had Husky Xact which they replaced. No real complaints with the Husky other than their second row options are all garbage.

This is what I used. But just be known that they are white lights. Not yellow. Way brighter then the stock bulbs. But so sexy with the white outlines of the anzos imo.
Anyways, best of luck brother. Please let me know if you find bulbs for the anzos. I bought some white ones and the plug ins where wrong.

I got a hitch step for my 2013, there's two from "heininger" on Amazon. I got the normal one for $55 and it makes a perfect step up into the bed, and supports my weight just fine (about 300 lbs). It comes out just to the end of the tailgate when it's down, so you can't really use it as a step getting down though.
If you wanted it to come out a little bit further, and also be a step down, or if your climbing in the bed a lot and don't want to potentially hit your shin on the tailgate they also make an xl one that's a few inches longer, but costs twice as much.
Either way these steps are significantly cheaper than buying a tailgate with the step built in, and has come in handy more than I thought it would.

Thanks! Got them on Amazon
I used these and since they output light 360 degrees evenly I see no issue with the beam pattern.
This is probably not at all what you had in mind, but I found these on Amazon and absolutely love the look of them. Thinking about picking up a pair for our new supercrew:
We do a lot of camping, canoeing, mountain biking, etc and plan on using the truck to haul our gear. Having a nice organized set of pouches and containers on the backs of the seats to house first aid kit, flashlights/headlamps, tools, roadside emergency gear, ratchet straps, etc means it would be all right there when you need it without having to dig into the bed (I have a trunk in the bed to carry some less frequently used or bulkier gear, but it's more work to get to it). We could even dedicate one or two pouches for kids books and toys/charging cables so the kids can access them from the rear row.
I just find that the stock f150 is kind of lacking in storage areas within the cab. It is my biggest complaint at the moment. I have 3 child seats installed in the back row making second row under-seat storage impractical, so options for extra storage are a bit limited.
Disclaimer: I have not purchased/tested the product linked above so I have no idea on quality. I'll do a review if I decide to pick them up.
It's to slow down the tailgate when you open it. I bought this one off Amazon
I've got small kids that like to be helpful and this will prevent them from opening the tailgate and having it fall down onto their heads.
I assume this is the case for most if not all of the ones I posted, but from Q&A on this one on Amazon:
Question: How does this install? There are no rails on a flareside bed from 92-96
Answer: This cover will use a wall plate to mount to the side of the bed to mount the cover
Not bad as long as you have the right tools. Good impact gun. Quality spring compressor. I used this one - Shankly Spring Compressor Tool (2 Pieces) - Heavy Duty Build, Ultra Rugged Coil Spring Compressor, Strong and Durable Spring Compressor with Safety Guard and Carrying Case https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071DQJG24/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_5OpIFb6S6VJ4N - and it worked great. Last time I installed them on my 13’ F150 I had to take the struts to a shop to compress the springs because the auto zone ones were too crappy. Being the second time I did it (even though I missed installing the washer, oops) it took me about 4 hours total with a little lunch break in between. I didn’t loosen any of the inner control arms bolts. I removed the CV axle nut to allow it to slip out of the splines. I removed the sway bar connection, tie rod outer connection and the upper control arm connection to the hub assembly. It’s hard to get the old ones out and you really have to pry on the lower arm to get it low enough because the lower strut bolts are welded (or press fitted on) to the strut so you have to clear them out of the mounting holes. The new ones are really easy to install because the lower strut bolts aren’t connected to the strut so you put the strut in, drop the bolts down into the holes and you’re good to go. Zero prying putting them in. Sorry if I got some of the vocab wrong, I’m a hobby mechanic so I’m sure some of my terminology is off. I’d say first time you could prob get it done in half a day. Quicker if you had some help. American Trucks and Stage 3 Motorsports both have videos of the install on YouTube. They’re good references and one of them even tells you all the tools you need. Even though they don’t mention the washer at all either. Oh well.

I have a 2014 with these. Double check but I’m almost positive the reverse, 3rd brake light and cargo lights are the same 921 bulbs. 2 years going strong, and they make a huge difference with the backup camera.
I just reprogrammed it and it was easy. I used this adapter OBDLink EX FORScan OBD Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081VQVD3F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_m.7CFbMMHPS6Q
Then you'll have to get the "extended" forscan license which either costs 10 bucks a year or you can get a trial license but that takes longer. I paid ten bucks because I like people that make software for this stuff.
You don't have to go into a spreadsheet and all that I've seen on the YouTube videos. You just go into the ipc module and there was a drop-down box for tank size. Easy peasy.
I have the same truck in Ruby Red, love it!!!!
I have two little ones myself and use this... they are amazing, great quality and haven't stained the seats. I have no complaints and I've used it for 2 years in my Excursion.
If you’re in a model more than about 5 years old, the stock incandescent reverse lights are pretty garbage, so you can get a lot of improvement for not much money by just updating to LED replacement bulbs. Just slap in some LEDs. They're a 1:1 replacement for the old halogen bulbs. Same light pattern as the bulbs they're replacing, so no blinding others. No ballasts, no drivers, just plug and play. The tech has come a long way in just a few years.
I have this brand (different bulb size though) in my 05 and they're great, super bright, very white.

They're harsh without a load and you hit a good bump, but if you've had an older truck you won't really care. If you're used to a Cadillac suspension, well... you own a truck now. LOL
Leather Honey on Amazon. We use it in my '08 KR and it looks great! Take car of the that leather. It's great! The Castano leather of our trucks is rare and expensive. Take care of it. The new trucks today look cheap in comparison.
Nice, congrats!
I'm in the same boat as you with both of those issues. I'm definitely going to swap the fuse. Those DRLs are a bit too bright to stay on for too long. I'll try 15.
I got these bulbs from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q8RZRZV?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. They're not a great fit, but they're good enough for now. They weren't very secure in the sockets, but I drove around yesterday and went over some speed bumps, etc. and they were fine. I'm definitely going to get a different one before going off road.
I read on some other forums that you can make a 7440 work in a 7440NA socket by shaving down the base a little bit. I'm still trying to find the right replacement, so if you find a good LED that works, let me know!
AmeriLite is the amazon seller. I’ve seen similar headlights on other sites. As far as performance, I’m extremely impressed. My factory lights were scuffed and full so that probably plays into it but these definitely outperform them. I need to adjust and level them still. I felt like I was driving with my high beams the other night until I tried the high beams themselves.
Buy a replacement on amazon program it yourself (requires 2 programmed keys) and then get a locksmith to cut the metal. Got yourself a replacement for about a benji
Here’s the built right seat release: https://www.builtrightind.com/products/builtright-industries-f-150-rear-seat-release
I went with the “OCD center console” from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XIY8NNQ/ Cheap plastic, nowhere worth $25 but it fits and works well.
I did a level and added beefier leafs in the back without changing my tire size on my '13 STX. 2" in the front and 1" in the back and it looks good to me. Before I did the leafs I'd get the bro-lean. It looks like the white truck in this Amazon link. https://www.amazon.com/Rough-Country-571-Suspension-Leveling/dp/B00K2B3Y5U
For future reference regarding the moonroof: every 6 months lube the seals all around. This stuff goes a long way: Chemours Krytox GPL 207 Grease,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MWLD61A?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
You can clear it, but odds are it will come back as soon as you start the motor.
Disconnecting the battery for an hour will do it, or you can use a scanner; you can order a bluetooth unit off of amazon:
...and get the app for your phone:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torque&hl=en_US&gl=US&pli=1
All for about $20.
That would let you clear it at night so it should remote start in the morning /shrug
I was going to say I thought those were factory. I have these style tie down anchors and use them all the time. Super useful.

Here's your tube with O-Ring on Amazon ~ https://www.amazon.com/1997-2004-Automatic-Transmission-Filler-Dipstick/dp/B08BR42CQM/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3CBZ38ECPYPXR&keywords=1998+4R70W+transmission+dip+stick+O-Ring&qid=1670171353&sprefix=1998+4r70w+transmission+dip+stick+o-ring%2Caps%2C309&sr=8-4&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.d977788f-1483-4f76-90a3-786e4cdc8f10
I believe it's a .753 O-Ring, the link from Ebay is a good reference # for size # part number.
Tuxmats floor liners. (Better than Husky and WeatherTech), Husky wheel well liners, then get him this bag:

I’ve got a link to All Trails with your area mapped in. They have a lot of reviews and details about trails all over. Keep in mind, some are hiking trails as well.
OBDLink EX FORScan OBD Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081VQVD3F?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
You need that and a windows laptop for the full access. Then you grab a free license from forscans website and you’re ready to go.
There’s a good guide on it I’ll track down for you if your interested. It lays all this info out step by step. The adapter I linked is the recommended one to use.
Lol, you’re proving me right. 2 years ago is a long time, most of this tech came out to the lower brands within the last few years.
The article talks about how Diode Dynamics does it right by imitating the light pattern of an incandescent.
Many of the options out there, even budget now, have the correct positioning and are nearly identical to the Diode Dynamics. I will admit, there’s plenty of shitty LEDs out there, but it’s VERY easy to find a quality, well engineered set of LED bulb replacements today.
I know for a fact SEALIGHT, Hikari, and Fahren all have cheap Amazon offerings under $120 for the full set of highs and lows that have excellent reviews. You just have to get the high lumen ones and do your research. The beam is near indistinguishable from stock besides light output with my set. Also no codes or flickering on my 2019.
Not what I was expecting looking for no code... But did you fix it yet ?
May I share with you one of our articles that talks about it, hope it helps :)
I have these: SEVEN SPARTA 2 Pack Car Cup... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087F5NLTT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
They can fit pretty much anything and they screw in tight. I’d recommend giving them a try and then you can buy whatever you want
shoot coil cleaner up the ac evap drain coming out of the firewall https://www.amazon.com/SAFE-Foaming-Coil-Cleaner-19/dp/B007I7KZN0
Or rubbing alcohol is reasonable too. Have to rig something up to flood the airbox. Usually you can pull the rubber boot off of the firewall to get closer in to the airbox.
2 for 1, clean the coils, clean the drain so it doesn't keep happening.
Also pop the hood and check the cowl along the windshield. There should be an intake somewhere around there on most models. If you have a bunch of leaves or other garbage that could be related to only having a smell when recirc is off. Or like a full on animal crawled in and died lol.
They're nice if you want to leave anything in the bed. Kinda turns into a quasi-trunk. I bought a cheapo off amazon for like $200 while I was looking at the more expensive ($1500) roll up aluminum ones. Liked the cheapo so well that I never bothered to upgrade. The aluminum ones are great if you need the security, and they look nicer, but they are a pain to install just right and harder to take off if you want full access to the bed.
The issue sounds isolated to your key fob. take it apart and see if there's something on the PCB. Corrosion or something along those lines. Take the remote off of the key ring and use a quarter to twist the shell apart. If you need to buy replacements, these worked just fine on my 2009 lariat. You can watch this video on how to program them. I know the truck is technically a different generation, but the process works for 2009s as well.

Be advised that if your truck has memory powered seats, key fob #1 will put it into memory state 1, key fob #2 will put it into memory state 2. Remotes #3 and on will not manipulate the power seat at all. If you mess it up, all the remotes can be reprogrammed easily.
