srs it's like some people can't be bothered to put in a little extra effort that their situation requires . "I can't buy online because I don't know my measurements", gee, I wonder how you could go about solving that problem?
My body type is Erlenmeyer flask and let me tell you, it is extremely difficult to find clothes that fit when you have size 15 feet, huge cankles, and size 20AAAA boobs. So glad wide leg pants are coming back in because they’re perfect for my inverted ice cream cone legs
I have this mesh thing I put flat over a bath tub, floor, table or clip it over a drying rack. Does the job and the clothes dry fast on it since they can breathe from both sides.
It folds into a smaller circle as well and can be clipped to hang on your drying rack when not in use so doesn't take space.
srs Amazon has cheaper silk pillowcases in the $30 range. Of course they are stained with the tears of factory workers, but other than that they are great.
I bought these for myself and my mom. They're fabulous.
Just because it’s not commonly produced doesn’t mean it’s impossible. Ponte stitches are incredibly tight and some amount of synthetic in the yarn helps cotton move along, and if there’s no demand then of course manufacturers aren’t going to go the extra mile to make it for no reason.
I’m getting my info from years of being a textile artist and working with people in the textile industry. Knits absolutely don’t wrinkle in any way that matters, please show me a modal or linen knit that wrinkles, I’d love to see it—the structure of knit stitches themselves resist it (one exception would be particularly old/crunchy fine cotton T-shirt knits). Cotton twill is manufactured with pure cotton all the time, see any military type coat or hell, denim. And yes cotton shrinks, but typically store bought items are preshrunk, if you by something and then it shrinks, return it obviously. It’s not like cotton items continue to shrink every single wash until it disappears into the ether.
Look, you can poke holes in any material in the world. Most materials have their place. You just seem really defensive about the fact that some people have different priorities to a weird degree.
I gave it a good shot since you, u/claraaintgottime, and u/sleepy_doggos all asked.
I'll warn y'all that it skews fat and queer because that's what I'm most interested in and it's most representative of my actual witch community. I know maybe two skinny white cis witches who actively practice. A lot of us are some kind of Not That.
As far as explanations go, I used exaggerated silhouettes and traditional men's workwear pieces to help own your space, green and metallic because get that coin, loud reds for confidence and power, black for bravery and security, and bold yellows for wealth and aspiration. Reds would be great for people going for a leadership role while yellows would be perfect for people in creative fields. I also wanted to include some hints of eccentricity—it's easy to gain power from other people's discomfort when you're unapologetically yourself.
For an additional resource, Gabriela Herstik's book Inner Witch has a whole chapter on fashion magick. She's a writer for Vice and I think her book is a great primer for introducing a little bit of witchcraft into your life. She talks about clothing as spiritual armor and goes over color, intention, and ritual fairly thoroughly with handy charts! The coolest thing about this practice to me is that it's all personalized. You make the rules and there's no right or wrong.
srs I do not understand the cult following of the Lelo products. they look weird, the performance is suboptimal, and they're EXPENSIVE. but then again, I'm a fan of the actual Punisher, so take my advice with several grains of salt.
SRS I haven't tried them yet but everyone says these are a dupe for the Aligns! The only reason I have any real-deal lulu stuff is because my SIL works there. It's going to be a bummer when she graduates and gets a non-retail job.
I never would have seen that, so I'll share: These moleskin pads. I put them in the shoe itself, especially the blister-inducing behind-heel area.
Edit: I think they're meant to go on the foot, but I put them on the shoe. I'm possibly weird, but it works!

I usually tailor mine, too, but I’m depressed during quarantine and have been letting my tailoring and mending pile up. 😂
It is!!
I got my mom this book a few years ago as a joke, as she's been trying to declutter so my parents can move into assisted living.
I just got this on Amazon and it's pretty rad.
I've been mulling over buying this chevron playmat for the nursery, but I'm worried that my bebe will turn into a Midwestern pore the moment her tiny feet are laid upon it. /jerk
I'm actually wondering if it's worth the $90. I'm such a sucker when it comes to baby purchases, like such a stereotypical first-time mum. Yup, probably going to buy it.
Honestly, same on the wardrobe not being maintained since the pandemic. I feel like most of what I've been buying lately has been more functional clothing like workout/hiking gear, comfortable shoes, replacement coats and bras.
I've never been to Lake Placid but I would assume there would be mosquitos - also this (https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/lake-placid/12946/mosquito-activity-weather/339681) - it's summer in the area.
Omg I've been eyeing this bag on Amazon and thought about buying yours when I saw it in store. It's so cute!
Are you opposed to bodysuits? I thrifted this Mangopop v-neck a while ago and it's a pretty deep v, thin, not polyester so very comfortable, AND not a thong bottom so that's always amazing since you don't get a wedgie.
Babe, I gotchu!!! I too love period dramas and secretly want to own lots of petticoats 😂
My expensive fountain was passed down by my Parisian grand-mere, and she also passed down 1 litre of the classiest and most girlboss ink
/uj fountain pens are actually v cool and I love using them, but the collection aspect sucks you in and steals your soul and money
Am wimpy Pisces. Worse yet, wood goat.
Long ago, I took this book to work before every Xmas when people weren't exactly doing any work. Book spine broke b/c so many people were xeroxing sections. Immediate boss was upset at his category (much snickering)
Srs yes but not the stupid clog ones they are SO HOT on your feet. I rock a knockoff brand (crocs used to make a style like this) called dawgs and they are squishy and comfy without roasting my feet.
I'm also looking for one!
The closest thing I found is this plastic replica but you can buy outfits for it from the same people who make it. The outfits are $20-$25 each, which seems kinda steep to me tbh. I was thinking of getting 4-5 plus the Goose and that's like $150 with taxes and it looks a lot cheaper than the concrete ones. I'm still trying to find one locally thats real concrete.

This is great give me a second, I had a lot of luck on Amazon as a big titty lady.
For underwire bra style swim suits try Dorian or La Blanca on Amazon. I have one from each brand (wrap and one that’s no longer available) that I love. I find that if you search by “underwire swimsuit” you will find things that are more like a bra (adjustable straps and bands). The Dorina one is also used for beach days and kayaking because again it’s like wearing a bra for me.
If you are doing some sporty activities I just got a replacement for lap swimming. I search by racer back and go from there. My old top was like a standard sports bra. This is the new one.
Srs I wasn't aware of what a "slutty wedding guest" dress looked like last year, but now I AM aware of what a "21 yo virgin who probably has a mild form of autism and really shouldn't be left unsupervised for too long wedding guest" dress looks like... it's a homecoming dress from Promgirl that doesn't fit because she thinks she's the same size she was a year ago but her medications made her fat!
~~What no I'm not bitter at all I'm totally not still mad that I spent $140 on an $80 dress because of having to get it taken out when if I really wanted to look like I was going to the homecoming I never had I could have bought this wdym~~
In all serious I now want to know what "slutty wedding guest" looks like for the still hypothetical next wedding I go to

Thank you! Yeah, the underlayer on my left side is purple :) I'm way too chicken to dye my hair for fear of damaging my curls, so I just apply hair wax after I wash my hair
Srs the book “Bringing home the Birkin” is absolutely hilarious. It is about a guy who accidentally becomes an Hermès reseller on eBay. And his quest to get a Birkin. And he also makes fun of the SA archetypes. It is a really fun (mostly) book.

That is a bridge too far.
SRS- Have you tried dying your lashes. 15$ For about 7 uses (they say more) but each time it lasts about 1-2 months.
I’ve really been enjoying a huge paint by numbers that I bought during lockdown last winter - similar to this and only ~£13 off Amazon. It’s really easy (I’m not artistically inclined at all lol) and so therapeutic to do while listening to a podcast or something. I’m only like 1/3rd of the way done with it because it’s so time consuming but in the best way!
I found this amazing mesh hanging drying rack at Aldi like five years ago, it’s basically the same as this. Sooo convenient (as long as you’re wealthy and vain enough to put things on it 🤣)
I wish we had a Reddit extension to all draw out what we THINK the OP described. I’d love to see that poster’s mental image of the beaded dress compared to my mental image (this but a dress lol) that I now recognize is probably way off base.
Absolutely not.
This is the only thing they are allowed to wear, for if thy tits are that large, then thou art clearly a decrepit hag over 25.
Nooooo, gauchos were like capri-length and flowier! Like these; literally every girl in my high school dance class in 2005 wore those exact pants. Apparently those are also back in too, though; they're just mostly called culottes now. (Like, here's a trendy-looking pair.) So if you're pining for some...
Seriously, the pants I linked are perfectly fine, I'm sure they're very comfy. They're just not trendy at all and CERTAINLY not "flattering" like the mom wants. The waistband reminds me of maternity pants, which is definitely NOT the move for boosting the self esteem of a middle school girl who carries her weight in her belly.
Folks, if you are capable of helping Folding@Home with their COVID-19 work, please do.
If you can, but are having trouble doing so then shoot me a message and I'll help you.
Depends on if you want smoothing or shaping. In general the biggest issue you will have is keeping the shapewear in place instead of rolling down or rolling up. You want it to either cover your entire torso or reach the bottom of your bra. Ones with shoulder straps or steel bonings are far less likely to roll. Old style panty girdles and longline bras that end at the smallest point of your waist would work if you are on the slim side but they will create a lot of uncomfortable muffin top if you're not. I dislike most control top pantyhose because they are usually not long enough to reach the bra so you'll always have a roll of flesh being squeezed out uncomfortably.
Anyway if you want smoothing then something similar to Yummie bodysuit would work well (I would look on eBay and discount stores like Marshalls first because they will often have less than full priced ones). For shaping I really like things made by Rago brand shapewear. They make the exact kind of shapewears like the ones from many decades ago. Also if you are going to wear pants you'll want something that ends in a panty (preferably with crotch that you can open with hooks and eyes). For dresses I really like something similar to this (wear underwear on the outside for easy bathroom access).
Amazon! I like that the risers are huge; they seem more stable.
I’m going to do 90s workouts from YouTube too. I like old, simple cornball stuff like Sweatin’ to the Oldies or Walk Away the Pounds. It’s more fun than trying to keep up with hip hop steps I can’t do.
[I bought these and they turned out really nice. came a good ways over the knee and not bad quality. and they come in in sets of 2. you can choose both black or black and another color.]

k so I've never dyed clothes before (aside from tie dye when I was in school) but I've got a pair of black jeans that are starting to fade. Anybody redye jeans before and have advice on the process? Was just going to get like Rit black dye. (they're Old Navy Rockstars so I'm not too concerned if I ruin them by accident)
Srs these are the frye boots I bought, because they looked like something Phryne Fisher would wear: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003EOAOK0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_hg3MtzEHN1s8x
I have owned them for four years and wear them fewer than twenty times a year, and the stitching that attaches the lining has unraveled, and the treads on the soles are worn smooth. Not to mention the laces they shipped with are barely long enough to tie, which also was frustrating at that price point.
Around the same time I bought these Timberland boots for daily wear, and have worn them pretty much every day from Sept to March for the last four years, and they are holding up with no problems (though I did have to replace the laces after two years): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B02V3JY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_tYCopISpsh4AL
I'm sure like any brand, Frye has some gems. If you have ones that work for you, that is great!! but I remain disappointed.
