ipredator is shit, only trust servies which use OpenVPN, anything else is unsecure. TunnelBear and AirVPN are good, with the former being the easiest to use for n00bs but the latter putting more emphasis on providing anonymity and allowing payment via Bitcoin. Neither keep any logs though.
That's a big shame, I e-mailed them a lot of technical questions and they were able to provide informed answers to all of them.
As for the no torrenting policy, that's another great shame but my guess is that they want to ensure they're not made liable for any infringement - since they don't display any address on their website and their WHOIS is private, we can probably assume they're not a registered company and therefore have unlimited liability.
Check this out for alternatives. The first service on that list, BolehVPN, also uses OpenVPN and it sounds like their customer service is good at providing a service tailored to your usage too.
That's very true, people expect the full internet unless it says otherwise and they should have been far clearer.
You're certainly entitled to your money back, research Canadian law (they're based in Canada, hence the bear references) on trade descriptions and quote it to them. Like I said I'm quite sure they have unlimited liability so they should refund you quite quickly.
Personally I think AirVPN would be a good alternate service to look at. Look through their forums and you'll see their people are very tech savvy and they will set up port forwarding for you specifically for P2P.
