Someone just posted this pair last week: CRZ YOGA Women's Naked Feeling High Waist Yoga Pants Workout Leggings with Pocket Navy M(8/10) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DCSQRRZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_tLs.CbR5RFBM3
I bought some a size up and wore them to the gym today. I’m obsessed! Apparently they are supposed to be solid copycats of lululemon- I don’t know because I haven’t bought any lulu myself but I’m sold on this pair. I want every color now! Passed the squat test, high waisted without falling down, no camel toe....
Thank you to whoever shared these last week!
Have you looked at matenity jacket extenders? They're panels you can zip into existing jackets, like this:
There are better ones on etsy, and some people make custom ones.
My legs feel really heavy/ swollen and tired after a regular day of walking/ sitting/ standing. I hate that tight feeling! I started wearing compression socks (but not while out walking...I have too much pride!!) and they're really, really helped a lot!
Purchased these to keep at my work studio
Also trying to remember to foam roll my legs after workouts and at night before bed. Putting your legs up against a wall, with your back on the floor, is also great for when your legs feel super tight.
I've heard these are a dupe for the Align leggings. I wore them my entire pregnancy and wore them to my inducement. I find they run a smidge small so I sized up one.
Jogging strollers tend to be a lot bulkier and heavier. They can be hard to manage in tight spots or crowded areas. But it really just depends on you and where you will take the stroller. I would say just get your jogging stroller and once baby is here, you’ll see if just using your jogger works for y’all!
We got a smaller compact stroller for travel or for going to places like the aquarium, museum, things like that (precovid wah). We have one kind of like this but it’s more compact when folded. The one we have isn’t on Amazon anymore 😕. Hope this helps!
I would skip the MRI especially if it was ordered by a physical therapist, unless you where in some sort of accident its just a way to charge insurance. Book Recommendation : Crooked: Outwitting the Back Pain Industry and Getting on the Road to Recovery
Pretty much everyone has APT and weak gluts, not to say PT isn’t amazing and helpful but an MRI wouldn’t tell you anything. You can do PT anytime and it will help, I started pelvic floor PT at 16 weeks and my gluts, abs, hips and legs are stronger than when I started. Mostly to control the pain of Pelvic Girdle Pain PGP/SPD If you are having pain get a pelvic floor PT do does manual therapy if its a here are exercises do them on your own. Just get them and stick to the regiment. Usually the McGill Big 3 and clamshells.
There are tons of youtube video for using these but my favorite is just side steps and monster walks & pulses. I do them every day and has helped my glutes greatly
I bought these off of Amazon. I bet any similar style will work. Less fabric means less wedgie. I think.
I got this one By the time I was actually able to use it because of COVID and whatnot, I was mostly just bobbing but it worked fine for some slower laps.
I really like the "Resistance Bands by Fitify" app (I have an Android phone, don't know if it's on iOS). I just pick the part of my body I want to work, set the duration of time I want to work out for, and it generates a routine for me (with options to switch things out if I really hate a particular exercise.)
It's my go-to source for a strength training workout when I'm traveling or can't drag myself to the gym. Happy camping!
Edit to add links! [Google Play] [App Store]
My babies don’t seem to understand that aren’t in my thighs and ass....my thighs literally just like explode in pregnancy. I don’t get it. Anyways....I’ve had some good luck actually with bike shorts from Amazon. I’ll link them below. Note, normally I’m a small (pre-pregnancy) but beck saw of my thunder guns I always size up to a medium in any bottom during pregnancy.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08G4G648L?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
P.s. sorry the link feature isn’t working. Hope that sticks.
I bought this binder after my cesarean and found it very helpful in reducing pain and swelling. It comes in 3 separate pieces for customizing to what you specifically need. My only complaint is that it kept riding up above my hip bones which is understandable and would probably be a problem for all binders.
I would say double up for now if you can, and wait for a bit to buy a bigger size, just in case they keep growing!! lol
Also I just bought this one off of amazon and am super happy with it... especially because it wasn’t super expensive.
(I was a 32DDD before pregnancy and liked the Victoria’s Secret high impact zip front ones, but now that I’m rocking a 32H over here, I’ve had to cave and get new bras!)
I bought a couple pairs of these for sleeping and exercising in and have been really happy with them! They’ve got pockets and one of those belts/adjustable waists so it can grow with your belly. Good luck!!
It’s very supportive but the Velcro which holds it together will show through tight clothing. Most pregnancy belly braces don’t support the belly button, this is the best one I’ve found.
I had a hard time finding the mountain mama harness in stock so ended up ordering the harness below. I haven't done any lead climbing/belaying in over a year. But in general with belaying I've found that I get pulled more with having the ATC up near my chest and it takes a little bit longer to take slack out of the rope since my reach is the same but the rope is higher. Otherwise I was surprised at how comfortable (top rope) belaying was and imagine it would be the same for lead.
Harness I've been using: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000T267N8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_89FCKBRVSEVSTAZC8RB4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I'm currently studying for my CPT & AAS in Kinesiology and happen to be 36 weeks. I came across these resources while doing a project on how exercise effects the pregnant body:
American College of OBGYN recommendations for exercise during pregnancy - includes contraindications, notes what changes happen in a pregnant body and should be considered for exercise (i.e. - higher blood volume & oxygen levels, production of relaxin and progesterone which make the ligaments and joints relaxed, etc).
Delivering Fitness, a well researched guide to exercising during pregnancy. I had access to the full pdf book through my college.

There are plenty of scholarly resources out there for you to research how the body changes during pregnancy and how you can accomodate. However, as others have mentioned - don't forget your scope of practice. Get additional accreditation.
Yep! Don't despair. My chiropractor still says my alignment is wack due to pregnancy. You can't carry a heavy load for 9 months and expect your pelvis or back posture to ever really be the same again. I've gotten better, but there's still work to do and I'm always doing my posture app exercises (this app) - it helps me a TON but I have to do them every day.
Downward dog sounds like a great idea since you're still in 2nd trimester.
When I was in third trimester, I looooved this thing: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GO2M7DU/ref=cm\_sw\_r\_tw\_dp\_fQidGb29JMVMB?\_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Tape can irritate your already sensitive stretching belly skin, I'd stay away from it.
Not necessarily a workout top, but I wore this all throughout my pregnancy and got a lot of compliments. I did wear it to work out though
I literally take a nap during my “lunch” hour. I work part time remotely and go to school online so I have flexibility in my schedule.
I don’t have any great recommendations. The leggings I bought are still a little too small and my old ones are just a little too tight.
I like these shorts the most.
Women Maternity Yoga Shorts Over The Belly Workout Running Active Athletic Shorts https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088PRQJ7N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_UnJbGb9X3M2WD
These leggings are the “most satisfying”
Ecavus Women's Maternity Yoga Pants with Pockets Over Bump Active Leggings Workout Athletic Full Length Pregnancy Pants https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FLZFYQS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_yoJbGb91DN43G?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
As you can see, I love me some pockets
I'm a big fan of this free app. It has saved me a ton of pain, postpartum. All exercises in there are mobility, not designed to make you sweat! And a lot of the exercises are extremely similar to what my chiropractor prescribed when I got a frozen shoulder while nursing but it works for the chronic low back pain of motherhood too!
I will add that a good compression belt helped me TREMENDOUSLY. This one on Amazon or the Motif Medical one I got for free through Aeroflow were great. I just wish they didn't ride up above my hip bones when I sat down because my incision was below my hip bones. Definitely confirm with your OB when you can wear the compression belt and when you can go up and down stairs. Some OBs shy away from these, others embrace them.
I had an unplanned c section but it went great. My scar looks great and feels fine at 10months pp. I was really bummed about not being as to be as active as I wanted but by day 5, I was walking around the house and by day 10 I went out shopping for 1-2hrs with my mom. I was driving by 2 weeks pp, walking 30 mins at a time by 3 weeks and cleared to lift and run at 5 weeks.
I would recommend a high waisted comfy cotton "compression" underwear. (I had these high waisted cotton underwearand loved Covers your scar without irritation. I remember wishing I had a wedge pillow as well, since you dont want to be using your abs to get yourself up in bed.
Also, start with scar "massage" as early as you can and definitely stay on top of the pain meds. I wouldnt take them every 4hrs like they said because I felt fine at the time or I'd forget. The pain definitely catches up so have your partner remind you to take them every few hours.
All in all, your recovery in terms of physical appearance and functionality/performance with workouts shodnt be a problem. You'll get back to your normal activities, but don't get discouraged if it takes longer than you expect!
For me, doing squats has helped. If you can’t do weight or bar squats anymore due to your belly, resistance bands are great. I have these from amazon.
Of course you will have bodily changes but I’ve noticed it’s helped keep my hips and butt toned. We’ll see after I give birth if they go back into shape :)
I have the Jill and Joey maternity band - I think it’s great. Jill & Joey Maternity Belt - Belly Band for Pregnancy Back Support - Breathable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072BYTJ6V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_OrsrFbEZYZN17
I have something like this that isn't bad: https://www.amazon.com/Running-Bottles-Hydration-Resistant-Adjustable/dp/B07BVR8WW9
I used to use it for hot runs with my dog to give him hydration but now I think it will be more for me :)
I ordered one like this https://www.amazon.com/Maternity-Belly-Pregnancy-Support-Pregnant/dp/B072BYTJ6V/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=WA926Z9QJNJP&keywords=jill+and+joey+maternity+belt&qid=1671230659&sprefix=jill+and+joe%2Caps%2C189&sr=8-3 for my last pregnancy and got another generic one like it for this pregnancy. I usually have my hubby help me get it on tight lol. They have more supportive ones out there but these have worked for me
I really like these Buttergene on amazon
They are really comfortable and stretchy (no compression), i ordered my usual size which fits well. If you get a lot of swelling in your legs you may want to up a size just for extra comfort. These are by far the best leggings i’ve tried for belly comfort. They feel breathable & i never feel like my belly is being restrained. Also, the seams are well positioned and don’t leave imprints on my legs
For weightlifting they are really flexible but not squat proof so be mindful of that lol. I still squat in them but i just wear underwear with coverage or say fuck it and squat in the corner of the gym.
I do really love these, but I am still looking for some thicker maternity leggings that have a little more support for weightlifting. Also, i’ve been blessed with more cellulite in this pregnancy so i’d like to find leggings that smooth that our just a bit lol. I will look into old navy next because i’ve heard great things so far
these are similar to the Aligns at a better price point, i love them (but am not showing at this time, i just loved them pre-pregnancy), but i introduced them to my sister in law when she was pregnant and she ended up buying multiple pairs.
I biceps, front raises, triceps, etc. all while kneeling on a bosu ball :) It helps me stay stable enough so I don't tweak my obliques or long ligaments (which I did at 27 weeks and it was incredibly painful), but just enough off balance that I'm engaging my core a little. Once I'm even bigger, I'll probably just sit on it and do them.
Honestly will probably keep doing arms on it after pregnancy because it's way more core-engaging than simple arms.
It’s basically one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Body-Back-Original-Trigger-Therapy/dp/B00PJ2VN6Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=28HECZFKGDSML&keywords=s+hook+massager&qid=1668710727&sprefix=s+hook+m%2Caps%2C144&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9...
This is not the one I got but they’re all pretty much the same that I’ve seen.
You can reach points along your back to relive pressure during labor.
Also I forgot to mention, if you have a birth partner, look up partner massage and partner yoga during birth. There are massage techniques to alleviate pain and pressure during labor.
I used this one to ride up until the day before I gave birth!
Not op- 1 wk postpartum. When I used it, I could stand straight instead of that lean back thing that put pressure on my lower back. It it reduced/eliminated pain around my pelvis. It helped my balance. I hiked with schoolkids in the woods until 39 weeks, 1-2 miles/4 days a week and combining the band+hiking stick changed the game when I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do that part of my job at 34 wks.
This is the one I used. Amazon shoulder strap belly band
I love the PoshDivah biker shorts from Amazon which were a great deal but also love the Old Navy PowerSoft leggings - I found some on sale for less than $10, I think! I have a smaller sized bump now at 32 weeks, but brands held up from late teens to now with plenty of room to spare for the rest of pregnancy!
Technically a pumping bra but has the same design as a nursing bra. Also has a clasp in the back so you don’t have to pull it over your head like a sports bra. Have used it for HIIT and a short run (less than 2 miles) and jumping rope and it works great! https://www.amazon.com/Momcozy-Seamless-Pumping-Comfort-Lansinoh/dp/B09G6G6KQN
Pregnancy and post partum TV on YouTube has a great variety of work outs with different difficulties and lengths. Found her stuff very helpful.
I also reccomend this pregnancy fitness book every time as it is amazing and gives sample work outs and needs to be better known in this sub.
Same; I bought mine from Amazon. The reviews are not very good but I've been wearing mine 2+ times a week since May and it's in good shape. I expect it to last the rest of my pregnancy. They also carry this brand on swimoutlet.com https://www.amazon.com/EQ-Swimwear-Maternity-Swimming-X-Large/dp/B077F2NPDT/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=3KW126VOQOB5F&keywords=eq%2Bswimwear%2Bmaternity&qid=1657422834&sprefix=eq%2Bswi%2Caps%2C133&sr=8-4&th=1&psc=1
I sure have - i raised both my seat and handlebars, and i also temporarily swapped out the seat for another one. I had some discomfort in the normal seat starting around week 20, and my padded cycling shorts i used for 45+ min rides weren’t comfortable on the belly. So, i got this seat, and used the current mount to mount it on the bike. It’s been super helpful in making my rides more comfortable!
I haven’t tried these myself, but maybe something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Mountain-Mama-Womens-Trinity-Maternity/dp/B009T21XSI
FWIW all of my hiking/cross country skiing that i did around that GA I just used spandex leggings. Not ideal, but fine for a day or two.
There's no need to rush. Your body needs time to heal and recover. at 4 weeks PP, I used a postpartum belly band to kinda help me strengthen the core while doing light exercise :)
The best way is to consult the OB and have a check up. Other than that, as your belly is growing and heavier, it's actually better to use a maternity support belt, to support your back and hold onto your bump.
You can try the pregnancy support belt, I got mine from Mamaway on Amazon, it’s medical grade certified and recommended by my physiotherapist. Real game changer in reducing pregnancy pain and discomfort.
You can try the pregnancy support belt, I got mine from Mamaway on Amazon, it’s medical grade certified and recommended by my physiotherapist. Real game changer in reducing pregnancy pain and discomfort. A friend of mine also had severe sciatic pain and she said it became much more manageable with the belt on.
Yea! But is it safe to use running belt during pregnancy? I had my maternity support belt, which offer lots of support as well, you could take it as a reference :)
Started wearing it when I was 18 weeks, my belly was kinda heavy and couldn't bear with it, so I decided to start wearing the maternity support belt to kinda support my back and lift my belly :)
I was able to wear my normal suit till around 20 weeks and then got this one: https://www.amazon.com/EQ-Swimwear-Harmony-Maternity-Large/dp/B07BGXCFLQ/ref=lp_8941290011_1_1. It's not amazing quality, but it's been good for lap swimming. And I've heard flip turns are fine until you physically feel uncomfortable doing them!
I bought a universal jacket extender for use with my winter coat. With bub in a fleece suit, we regularly went out for walks in temperatures as low as 15°F.
I do think transfers from the car would be challenging in those temperatures though. If you go this route, I'd have a hefty blanket to wrap bub in for moving them from the car.
I just used this one from Amazon. Used it for running, the gym, and then just days I needed a bit of extra support
I did go running today and was pleasantly surprised that wearing my belly band helped a lot. I bought one off Amazon: AZMED Maternity Belt - Belly Band... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0113WE0QS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Also wanted to clarify what I said about working your core. Some core exercises, i.e. those that work the trans abdominal muscles are fine! But traditional ab work, like crunches, bicycles, anything with twisting can stress your abs too much. Like other posters I’ve also been told to “hug my baby in” and subtly engage my deep abdominal muscles. Hope this helps ❤️
My nipples were super sensitive most of my pregnancy. These are designed for breastfeeding, but I imagine they would help on your runs! They are reusable too!
https://www.amazon.com/Medela-Soothing-Breastfeeding-Hydrogel-Advanced/dp/B0011ECPA2
I drank a lot of a lemonade-flavored protein powder. I ate a lot of eggs. I also ate a lot of Krusteaz Protein Pancakes
And then I tried not to worry about it!
I did a combo of very loose pajama or sweat pants with a high waist, and soft leggings with a high waist for compression. I got SO SO SO swollen post C-section so I rotated in an effort to be comfy but also try to relieve the swelling. The ones I swear by below:
These are a good lulu dupe with the seam high enough that it didn't bother my csection, and I put compression socks over them: HeyNuts Hawthorn Athletic... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B092QRL8WP?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Love these to go over the diapers and compression socks, and they have massive pockets. Women's Cinch Bottom Sweatpants... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08741P3Q2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
And now I just wear these all the time. The sweatpants are great to pull on over whatever for a middle of the night waking, the leggings still fit and grow/shrink with me.
You will likely be slower and need more breaks. Like you said - lots of snacks and water. Even though you might not have much of a belly by then, I would recommend taking a support band or belt like this one. It can help with the round ligament pain (which sidelined me around that time). https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0113WE0QS/ref=cm\_sw\_em\_r\_mt\_dp\_YKYM6XW7A44W17C3ZNZC?\_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I haven't. I can't remember why... something in the reviews about the material being thin, maybe? I have a few of this brand and really like them.
I’ve used this brand pre pregnancy, during pregnancy, and pp in multiple sizes. I don’t wear them all day because I prefer a bra which clips down for easier breastfeeding. It is a little thick/it’s not what I would describe as thin but overall ok.
From my local library I came across a great book "Pregancy Fitness", written by a Pelvic floor PT, and two personal trainer/peri-natal specialists. Amazing resource that is more evidence-based that I'm surprised I don't see on this subreddit more! Sounds like exactly what you are looking for -> it has specific exercises that are safe (even modifications for different trimesters) and explains why.
I would lower the seat slightly, move the handlebars up and closer to you and try to sit more upright. It will shift the pressure on your sit bones. I have this padded gel seat for my indoor bike and have found it helps a lot: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00NQ1UF1E?ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details&th=1
Hawthorne brand on Amazon is amazing for fake lululemon align pants! That’s pretty much all I wear during pregnancy (36 weeks now). I really don’t like maternity pants HeyNuts Essential Full Length Yoga Leggings, High Waisted Compression Pants 28'' https://www.amazon.com/dp/B092QSXYT8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_H0MSCX0REVW1WXTTC1J9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Wear a heavy duty maternity belt to correct your posture and protect your back. It's like a sports bra for your baby bump.
No need to go down in weights. Just be more mindful of your form.
I LIVED in these my entire pregnancy.
Foucome Women's Maternity Leggings Under The Belly Lightweight Pregnancy Stretch Yoga Pants https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087JP6GTZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_ZTHTCYY7Y5GWY568954Q?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I use this and have checked it regularly. https://www.omnicalculator.com/health/pregnancy-weight-gain
Some weeks you will gain more (I think 24-26 weeks is natural to see a lb spike). But using it as a guide has been super helpful to me. I just check it to be sure I am staying within the minimum to halfway.
I plugged in your stats to an online pregnancy weight calculator. Knowing how much you should gain can be helpful to keep you in control. According to https://www.omnicalculator.com/health/pregnancy-weight-gain the minimum weight you should gain is 203 and the max is 213, with a pre preg weight of 188.
At 10 weeks, the max weight recommended is 191 so you’re a tad high.
My advice is to keep that min weight in your mind the rest of the pregnancy and use their weekly recommendations as a goal. If you’re weighing a little high this week, reel it in, increase your activity and strive to maintain it until the prescribed week. I’m not a doctor and obligatory, follow doctors orders, but for bare bones advice, that’s mine and it is exactly what I’ve been doing. I’ve managed to stay at my min weight this whole pregnancy at 24 weeks
Good luck!
I loved these during my first pregnancy:

I have moved to streaming but definitely would use them again if I could locate my dvd player lol
I work in physical therapy, and this one has helped tremendously on days where I am lifting lots of heavy patients. It is pretty darn supportive.

I only got a jogging stroller and I don’t regret it one bit. I got this stroller: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PMSS86F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_Q36BMJFTA1DH936XEQFP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 And it basically has none of the downsides other posters have mentioned. It’s light weight, super easy to collapse and fits in my small car. The seat goes flat so I’ve used it with my baby since week 1, and it has an attachment so you can connect your car seat if you want to (honestly, from what I’ve read it’s not great to keep your kid in the car seat anyways so I don’t see that as a downside).
I found the absolute best ones on Amazon! I am obsessed and bought in several colors . Love using the pocket for my phone- bonus: no thigh chafing : Foucome Women's Maternity Yoga Short Over Bump Workout Running Athletic Pants https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PSLDG2P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_AVQA5XKYJCEN76F7CYZ5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Honestly, if you are thinking of this for pregnancy specifically, it's really hard to predict which will work best for you. I would have thought that walking would be great for me during pregnancy but I get a lot of inner thigh and back pain. On the other hand, spin bike has been great. Someone else might have more pelvic pain during pregnancy and the spinng bike might be a no go.
I say just choose whichever one sounds like the most fun for you and you think you'll use the most long term. None of these are cheap! I have a spin bike and I really like it. I can also see myself using it a lot post partum. I'd love to get a rower as well one day. Treadmills aren't for me b/c I hate running and I live in California where walking outside is almost always a great option.
If it helps, this is the spin bike I bought. It's compatible with Peleton. https://www.amazon.com/Schwinn-IC4-Indoor-Cycling-Bike/dp/B07WZXSDKW/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=spin+bike+schwinn+ic4&qid=1617839620&sr=8-3
I got these from Amazon. Literally a dupe of lulu aligns
I got one of my regular size and then a size up.
We are getting a BOB stroller too that we will also use for our every day stroller. For the early infant months, before we can put her in the BOB, we are just going to get this universal infant stroller attachment that we can strap our carseat into. We are getting a convertible car seat for my car and an infant-40 lbs car seat for my husband’s car. We’re also getting two nice baby carriers (Ergo and more of the sling type) for when we need to navigate small spaces where we won’t want to take the jogging stroller.

Hi, I purchased two LuLu Dupes off Amazon. I am obsessed with both. Neither are specifically maternity leggings, but several pregnant reviewers commented that use them, and many others compared these to aligns The first one is: CRZ YogaCRZ Yoga
Ewedoos Women's Yoga Pants with... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RTQ5H6B?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Sorry if the formatting is off.
They are not considered maternity but I bought 2 of these empire waist tops and they are fairly long in they front so they make great maternity tops
I bought a stationary bike back in March right after my gym closed. We are getting near-daily use out of it. But always check with your doctor first to see what level of physical activity is safe for you and baby.
I sized up in these and I quite like them https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WS5STWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_UWt6FbTXANSGV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Notes: I think I can get another 6-8 weeks of growing belly in them. The coldest I’ve tried them in is 25F and they worked great for that temp, anything below that and I’m going to have to add a pair of compression shorts to keep my hips and thighs warm. I’m 19 weeks (but this is my second so I’m the same size I was at 23/24 weeks with my first)
ingrid & isabel fleece lined footless tights ($22) i have these and LOVE them, i bought a L/XL after reading the reviews even though i am 5’4” with thin legs that are very long for my height. personally i’m very happy with the fit and glad they’re long enough.
i also bought some non-maternity fleece lined leggings at a local boutique that are “one size fits all” and are really comfy for me at 25 weeks. the tag says Sofra, you can find them on amazon for $13, but i can’t guarantee it’s the exact same pair since i didn’t purchase them online! i am fairly certain these will fit me through my pregnancy though.
Yes, it sucks. I spent so much money on bras! I was buying a new sports bra every month for the first part of pregnancy (this one is cheap and very supportive). And then in the third trimester, your ribcage starts changing size too! And who knows what size you will wear after your baby is born and your milk comes in.
I am also TTC in March. :) Check out It Starts with an Egg and Real Food for Pregnancy!
I've cleaned up my diet in preparation for TTC: limited caffeine and alcohol, high protein and lower carbs in general (and cutting out sugar almost completely). Limiting BPA exposure, and trying not to eat out. I've also added in a solid prenatal vitamin as well as other supplements recommended in It Starts WIth an Egg.
I keep hearing that it takes 3 months for your eggs to mature, so making dietary changes 3 months out from TTC can be super helpful.
My $149 stationary bike was a sound investment. I'm not even a gym rat, but I smartly parked the thing in front of the TV and pedal when I watch sports. Having a thing to watch and focus on has been key to getting me to stay on the bike.
And to think, my habit used to be going to the British pub to watch footie matches over pints. The stationary bike has turned what used to be a calorie-dense habit into a calorie-burning one.
These ginger drops helped me a lot! The ginger calms the stomach but it was also sucking on something was soothing for some reason ....? I loved them especially if I had to be in a car. Or walking anywhere.

I have both the BaoBei Support Band and this (less expensive) belt from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/AZMED-Maternity-Breathable-Abdominal-Support/dp/B0113WE0QS?ref_=ast_sto_dp
I actually find the Amazon belt is better for curbing round ligament pain and specifically seems to support the lowest part of my belly better. The BaoBei gives me better overall support (it almost seems like compression wear and really keeps everything in place) but I still get round ligament pain when running. So, I'm more inclined to wear the cheaper belt while out running and the BaoBei for just normal everyday activity (walking, cleaning, cooking, taking care of the dog). But since these things get sweaty and I sometimes slack on washing them, I do like having two and I'll grab whichever one is clean in a pinch.
Glamorise Women's Plus Size Full Figure Adjustable Wirefree Sport Bra #1284, Blue/Green https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MR6Q1QW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_N0cICb66Q1ETK
This sports bra is on Amazon and comes in different sizes. I wear a 38G (now more) and it has a ton of support with my HITT workouts.
UGH I feel you so hard. I’ve had sciatica since week 8. (17 weeks today)
A couple of things have helped me manage it.
I’ve also done this video weekly https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=G5h0jkoBFbI and do a short version of the stretches each morning for 5-10 mins. I saw you said you’re doing stretches several times a day and IANAD but think that might be overdoing it? The times I’ve done that (out of desperation! It hurts!) I’ve almost always ended up feeling worse by the end of the day. I’ve started incorporating tennis ball rolls into the stretches too and that seems to be helping as well.
I got this compression thing off Amazon and it’s actually been REALLY helpful on the worst days. I hate it on my bare skin so usually wear it over leggings or yoga pants. For me it provided almost instant relief—the pain didn’t go away totally but it made going about my day much more manageable.
It sucks at first but actually I found the more active I am in a given day, the less pain I’m in. My sedentary day job sucks for this so every weekend for the past four weeks I’ve been doing physical labor, painting, hanging shelves, and deep cleaning the house like a madwoman. Without fail my pain almost entirely goes away by 3pm.
Every body is different so good luck and I hope you find something that works for you!
I actually love this Andriod app Pregnancy Exercise a workout that's for sure and it's worth it when I'm pregnant and want to stay active. plus I plan to find more yoga after the delivery so I can help my body stay active in the future. I love it tho
I live in MA and grew up in MN. I got these last winter for cross country skiing because it was a new hobby and I didn’t want to sink a lot into gear (and it was such terrible snow I did only get out twice, boo). I figured, correctly, they would also be good for biking and running. They aren’t insulated and don’t block wind/water at the back (for venting), so on the coldest days you might want to add fleece lined leggings. I plan to use them this winter by pushing the front below my belly, so I can’t guarantee that works great since I haven’t tried it. But, I like that they go over the bottoms I have and already like and they’re a good price.

I'm also coning (turned out it's a 2 finger start of diastis recti), AND I have an umbilical hernia. Hie thee to a physical therapist who specializes in pregnancy/postpartum/core stabilization ASAP!!!
Don't do ANY ab exercises right now - let the PT help you focus just on deep core/ transverse abdominis. Basically, my PT told me that it is going to get worse during pregnancy because, hello, my abdomen is gonna be expanding! BUT she said it's really good I came in to start addressing it early (at 15 weeks for me) because many women don't know what it is and then it gets WAY worse than it needs to during pregnancy and is harder to ameliorate afterwards.
She said that exercising is still a go (except for ab exercises) and encouraged me to stay active - but said I need to retrain myself to engage my core properly. There's really no way to learn it from videos or advice, this is not like doing a proper curl or something - you feel it internally if you're doing it right or wrong, and a PT will literally need to put their hand on you to train you to do it right vs. in a way that makes it worse.
She said in Europe all women are automatically referred to a PT post-partum, and don't suffer through the stuff that our mothers viewed as "oh, it's just normal to dribble out your bladder after you've had kids..." etc. This kind of stuff CAN be addressed with physical therapy (and helped drastically even if not possible to just cure), and if you're experiencing issues already, the earlier you get in with a knowledgeable PT, the better!
Buy a support belt - this is the one I bought that someone recommended to me on reddit, my PT said it's fine to use during pregnancy, and she especially wants me to use it when I'm working out:

I’ve bought 5 pairs of these leggings! I purchased them when I started my 2nd trimester and I went up a size from what I normally wear prepregnancy. I love them.

They are affordable which is a plus to me and I’ll be able to wear them after I give birth.
We used the classic Ferber book “Solve your Child’s Sleep Problems”. I only read the bits relevant to our situation (I was sleep deprived!).
Also some babies are awesome sleepers, so maybe it won’t be necessary for you.
Anecdotally, I noticed that moms that breastfed on a schedule had better luck with longer sleep times. I fed on-demand last time, but I think I will try a schedule this time. Again every baby is different.... so we’ll see!
Walito Resistance Bands for Legs... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H7QT6BN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share THESE! I had what sounds like the exact same rubbery type bands as you and the exact same problem. They rolled up and drove me nuts. I wish I had just gotten these in the first place. Note: they smelled real funky when they came. Like aquarium fish food. I left them out on my porch for a couple days and now they’re fine.
get a gel cushion for the seat. i take cycle classes 3x per week and started using one when i was pregnant and still use one today. just make sure it's the right shape for the seat! makes things waaaay more comfortable. i use this one.
I also just got my Peloton last week at 36 weeks! 🤪 Just trying to squeeze in some sessions before I pause my membership before postpartum pelvic rest...
I love Cody’s live DJ sessions - so dynamic and fun. Feels the most like you’re really in the studio. RIP IRL spin classes 😭
I wear these shorts from Amazon for my rides and they’re comfy!
I went through this after having my son... I ride horses and was cleared to ride at 4 weeks postpartum. It was much better once I found a good sports bra (I was a 34H at that point). But even still I did not lose the last 10-15 pounds until after I stopped nursing around 15 months (my body just held onto it).
This is the bra I got that ended up working for me. I would nurse/pump immediately before going to ride to help with engorgement. https://www.amazon.com/Glamorise-Womens-Double-Layer-Custom-Control-Sport/dp/B07KXNQVRF
I originally went to a local running store to get sized and wanted this one as you can undo the straps to nurse in it, but I sized out of them... but also worth a shot!

I bought these off of amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YYWBMC6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_DLTsFbJ34CFE6
I'm 22 weeks, and 18 weeks sounds about like when it hit me. I don't think you will regret taking care of it sooner than later!
I’ve had a Nordic Track from Amazon for about a year and a half and have really been happy with it. It’s not as cushioned as high end machines, but it feels very stable and durable, as it holds up well to me running (and I am a chonky girl).
Ok I’m a total leggings snob but ran into the same issue you had with finding the align shorts. On a whim I got these from amazon and I’m SO happy with them! I assume amazon sends to Canada?

I love the Aligns, but Core 10 Nearly Naked (on Amazon) are also great! They have the high waist and the same type of waist as the Aligns. Highly recommend these. I have the CRZ ones too, but like the Core 10s much better - they come in 3 lengths as well. link here
I agree that a lot of them are the same. i bought these off Amazon in October: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AVDVHTI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. And they are fine! Haven't broken. The only thing is that even the heaviest ones aren't THAT heavy. I hardly ever use the light ones and just use the two heaviest.
