Hey, find yourself a FSX server community and then ask who's about to play with :-) Server: OpenFlightNetwork seems popular at the moment. You can join their discord at: https://discord.com/invite/3VEHvh2
What I do is grab the charts for the airports, this makes a big difference (you can look on them and see how high you need to be for landings and how far away from the airport and direction to land).
A basic flight book/guide will help as well. Just remember that you can't change direction/speed/altitude drastically, over fly the runway, don't think that you can just turn around and land on it.
For a beginner, low and slow are the way to go, adding better secnary helps, as you will be doing things visually (VFR) rather than with instruments (IFR).
Once you get better, the add-on that I like is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ifms.ifms which is an add-on for the autopilot (as well as map & instruments). You run this on your tablet or phone, then you will always have an idea of direction/speed/altitude.
