Pyr Pits......yes, they're "normal"
Job for your Pyr? Have her "find" things/people throughout the day. Have her go "find" your son, and praise her when she finds him. "go find Timmy!", "where's Timmy?" and give praise when "Timmy" is found. Throughout the day when she starts acting bored, have her "find" stuff, toys, child, etc. Up to, and including hiding stuff throughout the house in the morning/night before.
Search Amazon for "dog puzzles"....Cooper (our "Poohbah", who we belong to), loves doing puzzles. You have to remember, these dogs are bred to act/think alone, they are VERY independent and VERY smart. I tell people all the time he will beat them at checkers.

These have worked for us, and he is now five. Hope this helps.

They always look so clean after a good blowout. once a day for a week or so. you might want to invest in one of these.

We have a pressure-activated cooling mat from Amazon. This one in size XL.
The Green Pet Shop Cooling Gel Pad for Dogs
We’ve only had it a couple of months, but our Pyr seems to like it. He won’t lay on dog beds or even blankets, so this thin mat is perfect for him.
I really like the Barkbay harness that we got for our pup: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07SLYDMFT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Xi4CFbB14BFWA
Our Pyrenees is 32 lbs and is currently wearing a medium with a bit of room to grow still.
My almost 4 month old Great Pyrenees as well as my 6 year old Lab Shepherd absolutely love this toy. I had to buy them each one. They roll it around to get the treats out and wear themselves out chasing the ball around. I have a large one and a small one but they far prefer the large one.
Edited to add that if your dog is a destructive chewer, they should be supervised with this toy because it can be fairly easily chewed.
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0002DK26M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_DwLzFbZ6Q3QQC
Yup chase is always what they want haha
So we play hide and seek all the time too! They love it.
Also hide the treats in various parts in a room! So much fun to watch them use their nose to sniff them out. It exercise their senses/stimulates brain
Theres also certain toys that keep them entertained for a little bit that they love!
This is a treat dispenser that they have to play with to get anything lol its a ball shape so it rolls around. This is the best one I've found that they dont get bored with because it's not hard plastic.
https://www.amazon.com/Planet-Dog-Orbee-Tuff-Snoop-Interactive/dp/B000O8KOCM
Outward hound has several puzzle games that are fun! But if you're dog is a chewer you dont just leave them alone with it. All the bad reviews are because their dog chewed up the game after finding all the treats. Lol youre not supposed to just leave it with them
Here's one
https://www.amazon.com/Ottoson-Outward-Hound-Brick-Puzzle/dp/B0711Y9XTF?ref_=ast_sto_dp
They also have those crazy colorful snuffle mats where you can hide treats in and they have to find them. Just type it in on amazon and theres lots of choices lol
I bought this to help with pulling and not wanting to stay in pace with me. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073TS9W1R/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
She eventually outgrew it and I made my own out of leather using that as a pattern. Still works great.
Ours was the same, the destruction is crazy! This ring toy was good to play tug of war with him but he won’t play with it on his own, and the super tough black kong, fill with bananas, plain yogurt, carrots and water, freeze overnight and it’ll occupy him and his need for chewing for a good 1/2 hr. Ours pyr is 4 and still gets one every night because it chills him out. Hope that helps!
We use the kind that slip over the collar rather than tie around the neck. It was too hard to find ones that would fit around my boys neck fluff! I’ll put a link to what I’m talking about but please note I do not use this specific site and can’t verify quality (I buy ours from someone at a craft fair).

Woops sorry that was the other cone. His outdoor cone he has on in the pic is this Dog Cone Collar for After... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B4N542Y9?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This collar has a sturdier clasp but it can get snug. Our Moosey is 100 lbs and getting chunkier so we like the INKZOO for indoors and this collar for outdoors.
We actually got it off Amazon. Its INKZOO and we bought the XL. Its adjustable for smaller necks so we can really keep it on there.
INKZOO Dog Cone Collar for After... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B6VHBYQT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This was a game changer for me and 2 Pyrs. I rake my carpets first and then vacuum. Saves the vacuum from being destroyed.
I don't use a collar on mine for walking.. he seems more comfortable with a harness that I put on him as needed. So he has one of these with an ID tag on it.
But, as other the other commenter mentioned - probably better to not let him wander freely if he's not a working dog.
How old is your pup? Is he/she active? or pulls you? I got https://www.chewy.com/chais-choice-premium-outdoor/dp/135761
But I wish I got tactical harness instead. My dog pulls sometimes and it's easier to control him when I grab his handle on the back.
Loose leash walking! It's so much harder to work on when they get bigger (and I just have a 65 lb Pyr mix). Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I think no dog needs a harness for regular walks unless they're a small/short snout dog that is in danger of actually choking themselves out. A bigger dog learns that they can just pull and pull and pull on a harness with no consequences. Get a slip lead and use training treats/quick tugs to keep them at your side, with the leash slack. That's what worked for us anyway!
Natural dog company’s snout soother on amazon. It has amazing reviews and they are well deserved. It will help him a lot! snout soother
Something like this. I don’t remember what “brand” I got (they all seem to be made in the same place with different labels, like so many Amazon products these days).
Ours loves the Kong Rope Teddy. She did chew the ears off but other than that it’s held up so well.
https://www.chewy.com/kong-extreme-dog-toy/dp/38494
I'm not affiliated with kong but let me just say this kong is the ONLY toy my 2 year old still has after a year. I put peanut butter in it and he has a grand old time with it. Super size Kongs for the win!! He is DESTRUCTIVE and very strong so hopefully you get some use out of it. You can get them cheaper if you go to the pet store, I've never seen them 20 dollars. I just wanted to show you the toy I meant
Soph likes this donut which lasted for about a year before it started tearing! but she’s still got puppy energy so it might not be the same for you.
Our little darling enjoys squeaky squirrels. She also has squeaky raccoons. Three of each. They disappear for a while, then show up again. When my previous dog was a puppy, she loved cat litter and poop. The fix was easy, I got a top open litter box.
I don’t think it’s an Equigroomer. It looks like this, we just found it in the livestock section of Fleet Farm.
Yeah furmintaor doesn’t work the best for our super long coat pyr mix. I like this type of brush https://www.chewy.com/miracle-care-slicker-dog-brush/dp/111454 and https://www.chewy.com/lil-pals-double-sided-dog-comb-color/dp/155277
When we first got my girl she had terrible infections in both ears (she came from a neglect situation) that took months to resolve. Luckily they haven’t come back first, but I recommend ear wipes like this for maintenance after the infection clears up. I think I may have used them in addition to the medicine we got from the vet to help clear up the infection too, much better than just using a liquid ear cleaning solution and more comfortable for the dog too.
Good luck!
We've had no issues with nylabones or antlers hurting her teeth, I think chewing even helps keep them clean. She also likes beef marrow bones (she'll quickly lick the yummy stuff out but then the actual bone lasts forever) or the faux wood chews. Rawhides wouldn't last long and she'd swallow the last inch or two and barf it up at 3 am. Smaller real bones like rib bones or knee caps/knuckle bones are also devoured quickly, the former shattering into slivers that she barfed up - never again on the ribs. Pig ears and bully sticks are gone in a flash. Cow hooves last a bit longer (a week?) but they REEK and you have to keep an eye on the last inch or so, or else down the hatch. Lol clearly we've had some trial and error. As far as soft toys we've found the barkbox and Frisco (Chewy) brands to be the most sturdy if your Pyr is also a serial defluffer.
I've seen people use these bug face nets. I think I will next time.. lol
That's what we have (7 cats, 4 dogs - yes we're insane), love it. Had a Dyson canister for about 4 years. Had to repair it once, the second time we just pitched it. Also, I use a rubber broom for hardwood floors, area rugs, tile, etc in between vacuums.
It is the best brush you can buy!!
This is the one we got almost 2 years ago now and it's lasted well (if you're not in Canada I'm sure you can easily find something similar in your country) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08CCY1R6D?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This is the harness that I got my Pyr. She's a puller and this reduced the pulling. It's easy to get on and off since mine doesn't like having to wear anything for most of the time when we're at home. Comes in tons of colours and is easy to adjust. I got an XL as my girl is 130 lbs.
I have anti bark collar, we don't set it to shock or anything. First time it beeps him to warn him hey stop barking. 2nd time it vibrates. Our full blooded GP learned to stop after first beep. Occasionally he has to bark bc of the mailman but he does one big bork and waits. Cuz he knows we will come and investigate it. Worked on Day 1 for us. Here is the link incase you want it.
Soft collar. https://www.heartlandvetsupply.com/p-6322-ez-soft-recovery-collar.aspx?variantid=11176 And they have cute ones too… lion or sunflower? 🥰 https://www.chewy.com/alfie-pet-noah-lion-dog-cat-recovery/dp/137447
My boy wore a "onesie" type thing like this: BellyGuard - After Surgery Dog... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XFHCXFT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share It has snaps that keep it out of the way when he goes out to potty.
We have a similar bed as shakenbake by the couch, hasn’t tried to claim it much since. We also got a slightly smaller orthopedic bedfor the bedroom. He uses them both daily. I’d like to know if anyone has a recommendation for a cooking mat?
I wish I could say we got it someplace unique or there was some good deal. It was just Amazon and they had the “giant” bed on sale: Furhaven Pet Bed for Large Dogs - Minky and Velvet Luxe Lounger Contour Mattress Supportive Solid Slab Orthopedic Dog Bed, Removable Machine Washable Cover - Spruce Blue, Giant (XXX-Large) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PXTNGCH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Q79A8VFT4F5D2Z163DH1?psc=1
We got this one and like it. It needs to “recharge” after a few hours but Mochi just kinda shifts to a new spot after awhile.
It doesn’t cover the entire bed for him but a good chunk of it. The toddler sheet on top holds it in place and keeps him from chewing holes in it. Which is how the first gel mat died.
It’s not letting me link the scratch guards, so they’re here: FTSTC 20 PCS Furniture Protectors from Cats Scratch, Clear Cat Scratch Deterrent, Couch Protector 8 Pack X-Large (17"L 12"W) + 8 Pack Large (17"L 10"W) + 4 Pack (17"L 8"W) Cat Repellent for Furniture https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093Z3LWPY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_1F8AD5P1EWKWTFSM9ARG?psc=1
Sounds like yours has some similar behaviors as ours. We also live in a warm climate so he goes for a walk early and/or somewhere very shady, (I bring a 40oz hydroflask of water & a bowl for him) to get extra energy out. I’d recommend these for the scratching, his claws will just slide off them, going to put them on our new sliding glass door myself. Let him meet people out front, then if possible into the yard for a few minutes, then the house when he’s chill with it. Our trainer said let the people in 1st, dog last, so he can’t decide he’s blocking their way in. Dean & Tyler wire basket muzzle for every vet visit, keeps everyone safe. (But muzzle train 1st) Also good to use when introducing him to dogs, just make sure it’s not a hyper or reactive dog. It takes patience, sometimes he’ll have to be in another room when certain people are over. Good luck & pm me if you need any more info. PS I love marmite too!
I don't use clippers on our GP anymore. I was literally having to wrestle with her, and hitting a moving target meant I hit the quick a couple times.
I've switched to using cheap disposable Emery Boards. I do about 20 strokes per nail a couple times per week and I'm done. Takes about 5 minutes and the dog barely wakes up. Something to be careful about, though: it generates lots of heat and you can burn the nerve in the claw if you're too enthusiastic and scrub for too long. I usually do 10 strokes, move to the next nail, and do another 10 per nail on that paw before moving to the next one.
The boards I'm using are https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MV5772J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Each one will last a bit more than one pass across the dogs paws.
I have a Pyrenees and 2 German shepherds all weighing over 100lbs and I live in the PNW. We constantly have lots of rain, mud and dirty paws no matter how hard to try to wipe them. They don’t go into our carpeted living room often, we have a built in gate that separates the bedrooms and living room from the laminate side of the house. The laminate side has a family room, kitchen and dining room where we spend most of our time.
Unfortunately our office (pictured) is on the dog side of the house. My boyfriend games in there a lot and of course loves having the dogs with him. This is the result of that. It’s gross, I clean it monthly and every time I am amazed how dirty it is and how amazing our carpet cleaner is. I have had it for over 4 years now and it’s still working fantastic. I thought I would share since it has changed my life trying to clean up after my beautiful fur babies.
When we’re working from home and about to go into an important meeting we’ll load up a puzzle toy with treats and set that out for our Pyr. It keeps her occupied mentally and physically and we find she’s usually calmer after completing the puzzle. Most of them are sold in levels too so as your dog learns you can increase the difficulty. This is the one we currently use
My dogs absolutely love these:
Benebone Wishbone Durable Dog Chew Toy for Aggressive Chewers, Real Flavors, Made in USA https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CPDWT2M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_J5SWVHNMH3F08BF9WHCE
Ours hates grooming too. I have to just do the brushing little bits at a time - there is no other way. I will use scissors to cut out the larger mats and I use this brush for most else, which has helped a lot. For bathing, I prefer a warm sunny day, tying her up outside and using the hose. In the winter, I get in my swimsuit, tie her leash around my waist, and wash her in the shower but it's not that fun tbh. Best of luck.

It's just a washable mat with a bunch of ridges. You spread peanut butter or yogurt on it and it keeps them focused while you groom.
Here's a link to one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08SJ183WH/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_2MC82FWQSSNGV6W7EBCT
You smear peanut butter or other deliciousness on it and it keeps them busy while you brush or trim nails or whatever you need to do. I love the one we got. It helps bath time tremendously. I’d recommend trying something like this and taking it in very small doses. Just a couple of times a day do a few minutes while she’s busy and stop before she’s done. Keeps you and her from getting frustrated and makes it a pleasant experience for her so she stops hating it so much because it means she gets yummy stuff
Ours like the really big nylabones bigger and more textured the better. Also like to rip up stuffed animals so we just usually grab a few from the bargain bin at Petco every time we're there.
We had an anxious pit mix back in the day some things we tried with minimal success that might work better for you:
Honestly regular exercise was the one we were worse about for that dog (we were both in school and just too busy to be better dog parents at the time) but online it's usually mentioned as the most reliable cure. This would be harder for a Pyranees but a combination of regular walks to their limit plus some time in the yard "guarding" might help.
I'd also try to ween off the baths and then give it a month or so of no baths to judge the impact. Just in case the medicated baths are actually making it worse. You could also try bitter spray to see if you can break the cycle of chewing on the hind legs.
Good luck, sounds like you're doing every thing you can. Some times dogs are just going to have long term issues like this and there's nothing you can do to fix it completely. My last two dogs were very difficult for several reasons so just wanted to send some empathy there and to tell you not to beat yourself up too hard over this.
About $20 and changed our world.
This is what we use and have never had an issue with.
mine was an inhaler too as a puppy!! we had to use one of those slow feed bowels when he was young!
i know what you mean about the kitties 😂 ours do the same thing, i never even realized cats would be interested in dog food until i caught them gulping it down!
Yeah I think it's this one:
It's definitely big enough, our Pyr can fully stand up as well as lie down stretched out. I mean I can get inside it without much issue. It is NOT collapsible easily so if you place it, make sure you don't intend to move it.
We’ve been very happy wth this one from amazon! the only downside is that it is somewhat permanent once you set it up. Some gates you can move around your home easier, but they arent as sturdy

But my late pyr loved this one furhaven
We got this one for each of my two dogs:
NINEMAX Red Dog Raincoat Adjustable Pet Water Proof Clothes-Lightweight Rain Jacket Dog Hoodie Poncho with Safety Reflective Strip for Medium Large Dogs (XXL) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08C73CGV8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_5303JKHR15XX61RC490P?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I ordered the XXL and it does fit my 90ish lb Pyr and my 85lb lab/shepherd. My dogs don’t super love them, but they don’t hate them either. They have worked quite well for keeping the bulk of my dogs dry, minus paws and the top of their heads which they always poke out of the hood, but they do stay on well. We’ve had good success with these so far.
I do not miss it, lol! He still grabs my daughter to get her to play but it is sooooo much better now!
We got him one of these: Orbee and it keeps him occupied when he starts to get bitey :)

And we have these sticky gooey smiley face things that go in the washer and dryer with our clothes to trap fur and hair.
And acceptance.
Our Pyr mix's flying fur looks more like polyester pillow filler, as opposed to animal fur, so somehow we've accepted it as better [??] that it looks like we're all covered in polyester fibers instead of dog hair. And we're ok with it. LoL.
Same problem here with our mix (naturally, our purebred is perfect and would never do anything so unseemly)
We are trying https://www.chewy.com/zesty-paws-chew-no-poo-bites-chicken/dp/275879
It's got a delayed release capsicum which turns the poop spicy, but didn't taste spicy when they eat it
We're only on day 2 with the product. But maybe you can look into it.
We use something like this for most of the coat https://www.chewy.com/hertzko-self-cleaning-dog-cat-slicker/dp/163256
And this for places that tend to get knotty https://www.chewy.com/evolution-medium-rotating-teeth-dog/dp/223698
We have the above for our pyr x St. Bernard and she loves it! We put all her food in here. It’s durable, easy to use (but takes a long time to dispense), and the difficulty is adjustable. We like it because even though it’s pretty easy to “figure out”, it still takes a long time to get the food out. Hope this helps!
I bought these dog boots 2 months ago for my pitty and they are still doing the job perfectly fine and are also at a pretty good price compared to the ones in pet stores near me. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PTDDMX7?ref=myi_title_dp
I don’t live in Texas, no. Colorado. Funnily enough though my Pyr was born in Texas. I just looked that food up online and it seems like they may ship it here if I want to try it. Looks pretty comparable to the brand she already gets though the Heritage Ranch is actually quite a bit cheaper. She gets Zignature brand Kangaroo kibble. It’s stupid expensive but she doesn’t have diarrhea on it and she’s throwing up less. So… https://www.chewy.com/zignature-kangaroo-limited-ingredient/dp/118056 if you want sticker shock ha.
We got the largest size of these for our pyr. She wore them for a week hiking in The UP and wore them again hiking. They worked great for keeping her paws clean and dry when hiking in mud/sand. They worked with her dew claws. She is a bit small for pyr because she’s a mix, but I think they’d work for your pup too.

I just got these for my big floof. The material is like those punching balloons. I got the extra large, they are reusable until they tear and come with several sets in the box. Putting them on the first time she questioned my sanity, but after the first one went on a didn’t really care anymore. She barely acted funny once she was walking, and I’ve we were outside I swear she sensed relieved to not be getting snow balls in her toes. I’ve only put them on once, and it took two people, so I’m not sure how it will go once my kiddos aren’t home to help me, maybe I’ll be able to do it myself? Idk. Good luck and best wishes!
I got my Pyr this one. He loves laying his head on pillows, so I ended up going with one that had sides. He sleeps on it most of the night but will get up a few times during the night and sleep on the tile or hardwood floors.
Yes, this is what Pyrs do. Barking is their favorite thing. I suggest looking up what the local ordinances are for dog barks. —whether you can let him bark during the day without technically violating it. But as you say the neighbors could complain whether or not it’s against the ordinance.
However , I think you need a bark collar. I put this one on mine after dark when they are hanging out in the backyard. TUG Rechargeable Bark Collar;... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JC2W7WJ
This one can be set to either vibrate or vibrate and shock. With different setting for strength and sensitivity.
“Excessive” barking comes with Pyr territory, one reason why they get abandoned. I let mine bark all they want inside, during the day a little, but then at night and they are outside the bark collar has to go on. We don’t live on a rural farm.
This is the one we got for our Zoe. Feels very solid, and not too bulky.

In addition to others mentioned elsewhere, we like a good extra long slicker brush. It's what our groomer recommends for impacted fur if we don't/can't get it with the rake. Not necessarily this one, but like it -- with real long bristles:
So sorry your pup is going through this. Both our girls have allergies. Our pyr mix we finally narrowed it down to any kind of poultry. Even if the food is labeled no poultry you have to double check the ingredients list, it may still contain chicken fat or organs that are used as a binding ingredient. Her symptoms are gone after about 6 weeks being completely off any poultry. She had runny nose, goopy eyes, patchy fur, and loose stool before the switch.
Our lab pup was a mess, itchy red eyes, yeasty ears, dandruff, constant scratching, and runny nose when we first got her. They gave her cytopoint injection and her symptoms went away for about 6 weeks. We’re currently trying to eliminate food, we have her on the puppy large breed food her sisters on and there’s been much improvement. She eats purina pro plan the food change is helping with her symptoms. You can also get a hydrolyzed prescription dog food for severe allergies.
Yes I do! Here it is. it’s so sturdy. They have installation cups to make it even more sturdy, but we just use the tension bars for now and it hasn’t come down or budged. I fell on it once too and it stayed😅
We absolutely love it. I was getting tired of my 3 big dogs coming inside with muddy paws and having to clean the carpets so often. We live in the PNW where it rains like 70% of the year, and it’s impossible to thoroughly wipe all 12 paws off multiple times a day. But it keeps them contained on the hard floors until their paws are dry, and the hard floors are so much easier to clean compared to getting the big carpet cleaner out.
Side note: we only have the 29” one, just because I like to be able to step over it if my hands are full. But that means my German shepherds can hop over it. They are pretty good boys so it’s only happened a few times, but it’s not impossible. They sell a 39” one too that they probably can’t leap over.

This is the link for the one in the pic. I'll warn you, it doesn't hold a lot of food but I think it's just challenging enough for my boy. Nina Ottisson has a ton of good puzzles!
Very likely a yeast infection between his pads from excess moisture. Miconazole powder is a great solution for yeasty ears and paws. Just make sure to monitor after applying to prevent ingestion.
Good luck! 😉

You need to measure your dogs neck but they are adjustable by removing prongs so bigger is better. Make sure you watch a video on how to properly place one first.
My dog hates having her tail brushed, we use this The Stuff Conditioner it’s a great detangler and makes brushing tail easy. Pantaloons too.
Here's the one I got. I've only had it for a week and haven't used the mop feature yet, but so far I'm satisfied! I run it and clean it everyday. Cleaning it has been quick and easy. Definitely worth it.
I ordered a Casfuy dog nail grinder from Amazon. I chose it because it was one of the quieter ones and had a huge amount of great ratings.
Here's a link. If not permitted, I'll delete this part.

This door worked for my 130 lb boy, but full disclosure I returned it because I didn't like how much space it took up and thought that insulation during the winter would be a problem.

This is the biggest one we could find online. I was skeptical it would fit when I opened it, but so far so good.
Nice features -- it's big, material seems reasonably tough (though our Pyrs aren't big chewers), and it attaches with loops to the normal canvas collar which helps snug it down.
Less desirable -- I about busted my gut trying to blow the thing up, ended up using an air compressor. Maybe my valve was wonky. The velcro strap could be longer, once it's on the dog most of the velcro part is unused. Also, we have to keep shifting it forward toward her ears to keep her from being able to contort herself into a licking position.
For walking, we had to buy an extra sturdy harness We got this one from Amazon. no pull harness
Then we also use a leash with traffic handles so more than one hand loop so we are able to maintain more control over her when things like squirrels appear. The training handled frequency emitter thing I mentioned in another comment also helped me on walks before when I first started taking her on long walks when I moved to the apartment.
That’s all I got. Hope it help! They’re wonderful, but stubborn dogs. Patience is key:)
Personally, I am not a fan of the cross wave, but instead have this: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B082VRFWB8 It was $100 off last month and after buying it, I would have totally paid full price. Seriously. Amazing. I went cheap(ish) on my robovacs, I have two - an Eufy and a Coredy. Those have been heaven sent.
this one is a hit with ours and not too pricey! we've had it a year, and no notable wear https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0759HPX22/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
We got this brand and have had it for 2 years with no issues. The dogs eat on it and all their toys live there. We've only purchased a new cover once, but that's because we just don't bother washing it.
More expensive than I wanted to pay, but it's well worth the price.
When we took the cover and liner off, the mattress was basically like-new. So, for a $40 cover, we basically got a "new" bed. Love it!
We have this one but...it's hardly used. She'll use it for a hour or so at night than just sleep on the floor.
Our other dog(non pyr, but 95lbs) has used the same one for 3 years with no issues. Previous to that we had a Costco one that worked very well and is now his basement bed.
