Very carefully. Never had a problem with it, but then I woke up one morning to find Neo fell over. Must have fallen just right because it snapped his shades.
I don't think it would hurt most things to fall over, that was just a bad one to do it.
You can try https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FJU290 to help prevent shock, but I've found it's mostly about the joints. Weak ankle joints are not safe to leave standing under their own weight. But as long as they're balanced well and the case doesn't shake around from simple things like stomping around the house, it should be fine.
Just a heads up, this Curio Cabinet on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FPGP4KA/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_HhIcEb9TQ5TXY fits perfectly between two Detolfs on that base stand. My old configuration was like that, but I wanted uniformity. Here's a picture of it currently. I like it a lot as it gives you a little more wiggle room on some of the larger figures. https://imgur.com/Ioxhwkf
Here is a link to the customer reviews of this(Toy Origin) company. Spoiler, they are not good.
TORCHSTAR LED Safe Lighting Kit, 12" Linkable Light Bars + Rocker Switch + UL Power Adapter, Under Cabinet Lighting, for Shelf, Showcase Lighting, Gun Safe, Locker, Closet, 5000K Daylight, 4Pcs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015PQAH88/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_E531JFH3X2PT038F04AG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
These are the lights I use. In terms of brightness they are fantastic, super bright. They are also at a 45 degree angle which allows for the light to hit the figure directly rather than straight down like a regular led stick on strip would. The only downside to the lights for me personally is the wire is a bit thick, nothing horrible looking. But it isn’t easy to hide the wiring. It’s not horrible to look at and it’s not as messy as some other LED wiring set ups, but it is noticeable. I’ve had them for a year now and they still work perfectly.
Still though, you've had the figure free-standing for months. At one point, you should've thought of implementing a "safety net" incase the pose ever gives.
A lot of collectors who display without a stand use clear objects to support their figures. Such as rods, cubes, plastic wrap and museum putty.
Museum putty usually has a color to it so for Detolfs I'd recommend Museum Gel. It's clear and won't leave any residue. I haven't used it (yet) but have heard good things about it.
A unique alternative I recently learned about it using fishing wire to hook the back of the figure up to the ceiling. I am sure, with this method it won't EVER topple over.
Edit: The fishing wire is usually meant for aerial poses, but it's still a good way to keep the figure from falling.
Ok so here's what happened.
You are correct, I just looked at it shows 0 reviews. I thought I was positive though it was 24. When I click on the link below to buy, you'll see it does say 24 reviews which can be clicked on and look fine. I think my lack of familiarity with ordering from 3rd party confused me. I assumed those 24 reviews were for the company I was buying from. I'm not sure how Amazon pulls those in when they list multiple sellers on the page. Here's the link

It actually has changing LED lights, which mine doesn’t have. But the folding / button system is identical.
Amazon. One order of these was enough to do five detolfs. I got the link from The Jedi Knights Watch YouTube channel.

This looks awesome. You could use some sticky putty to keep the weapons mounted. The Loctite Fun-Tack is $2.00 on Amazon. Walmart also sells it in the office supply section.
I use these. They're pretty awesome. User to do the strip lights but they kept peeling off due to humidity. I worried about these doing the same but they have stayed on very solid plus they give you about 20 replacement sticks
I do use rechargable triple A for them but the charge lasts weeks before needing a recharge.

You should probably read this before considering buying from them. It sums up many peoples experience quite well and gives good insight into there poorly managed business.
They’re aluminum rods that led strips go inside of. You can buy them on Amazon and saw them to the length of the LEDs. It helps spread the light out evenly! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LL3S006?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Posing with Peter has a YouTube video where he used these clips that the shelf could sit on. I got them on Amazon:

This are the lights. Will take all the suggestions regarding the position of the lights thanks guys!
Luke Light was sold out so I decided to DIY :)
I purchased aluminum channels and cut them to size. Then I soldered together all the led strips and connected them. To mount the channels to the glass, I used double sided clear tape and silicon for the wood top. Finally I found a piece of tubing at Lowe's that I cut slots for the channels and all the way down (with a razor blade) to hide the wires and wrapped it around the post to achieve this clean look!

Thanks! I use these from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Govee-Upgraded-Dimmable-Daylight-Adhesive/dp/B07XHLGSXN/
In the front of the detolf I just start from the bottom of one side and go up and around all the way back to where it started. Snake the power wire behind the door and hinge.
I grabbed some of the LED light strips and some adapters off Amazon and lined the inside of the door with them.
These are the lights I used, with some careful navigation you can affix them and work around the door hinges.

i had some that had a yellow tint to them that i absolutely hated.... i upgraded to these recently and think they are AWESOME
The rates aren't cheap... but the buyer pays the shipping.
I use this scale: https://www.amazon.com/ACCUTECK-W-8250-50bs-Digital-Adapter-Silver/dp/B00SMHWZ42/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=postal+scale&qid=1609456836&sr=8-5
I did rig them up myself. Basically any stick on LED strip from Amazon will work but I used these. There are others that change colors etc too. Basically started on the bottom left with the first light and ran across the bottom then up and around the front of the cabinet. Then you just cut off the rest of the strip once you make it all the way around. It was easier than I thought!
You can try a scratch remover for glasses. Like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Novus-7100-Plastic-Polish-Kit/dp/B002UCYRZU/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=glasses+scratch+remover&qid=1606781679&sprefix=glasses+sc&sr=8-3
You don’t need much at all and yes it comes off like you never even put it on
It's normal. They are very heavy, and each Detolf is two big boxes. Not to say the cost is not ridiculous, but that sounds normal for Ikea. There are similar cabinets on Amazon Prime for $150 shipped, but you can get two Detolfs for that if you make the drive (not counting gas costs, etc.).
The above curio uses thicker wood framing, so not as accommodating as a Detolf for running wires with zip-ties, since they use thin metal tubing. I have their half-size one, and I ended up using wire hiding tubes painted black to address that.
Awesome thank you. If you like Star Wars prints I just ordered a 40th Anniversary Empire Strikes Back print done by an artist named Matt Ferguson and it's amazing.

I solicited advice on here like a month ago and a guy showed me his setup. Super easy to install in a couple minutes and I love how they provide light to each shelf from both sides. They’re also adjustable so you can dim them how you like.
Bought a white tunable LED light strip that came with 3 light temperatures, and wanted to share it with you guys.
It's really nice to have the feature to flip through different temperatures, and I would strongly recommend it. I usually keep it at 3500K because I want that warm light desert feeling for my squad here.

Oh yeah, did you contact some of the people I suggested? Some of those guys 3d print so thought they might be able to do that.
Just fyi neck joints are cheap! This is all you need :) neck joint link (Amazon just as an example)
I use Luke Lights' Detolf Kit. They're sold out often but check back, because they have batch releases. Definitely pair these with any LED diffuser to make the light more uniform. These work well with Luke Lights.
He used these Lights for his Bookcases and they do his figures justice.
Sorry, English isn’t my first language haha, I’m talking about this thing
You’ll have to touch it up with acrylic paint. Something like this might work. You’ll have to mix them together to get a match. Then test it somewhere unseen, like the back of the neck, to make sure it blends in. Then repaint it. Like I said, the paint above might work, might not. It’s acrylic model paint, and it’s where I’d start. That’s the best I can do. Good luck

Here's some pics. https://imgur.com/a/YifRST8
You have to run the cables under the door. You could probably drill a hole, but I already had all my figs set up so I'm fine with this
No diffuser, just installed into a cable raceway pointing upward. Stuck the LED strip into the track and didn't use the track cover obviously as it would cover the light. Track was then stuck to the shelf.
I think behind would be fine *if* you bought a riser so you can see a little more of him while he's back there! These are the ones I use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GRLQNGY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and with figure collecting you'll almost always be able to find a way to use the rest of them.
Looks great. I just got my moducases and have been setting them up.
You can get some zip tie mounts to help keep that male-female connector up and out of the way. The power cables for the led strip can be tucked into the channel in the frame and it should’ve come with little thin long black things to help hide the wire and keep it in place. You have power supply lines coming from both sides, shouldn’t you need only one?

Yeah, personally that's the nice thing about Reddit: it's fun to have a place to bullshit about our collections.
That was a good idea. I bought a pack of these https://www.amazon.com/Command-Light-strips-Indoor-CL806-45NA/dp/B076ZRRFD4/ which are useful if you want to attach string or a band. Just beware what you're attaching them to, they claim they're non damaging but I've seen 3M adhesive strip paint off walls.
I've been using these craft boxes for a long time now. They fit almost everything I've gotten so far, with a few exceptions, such as Mk. 50/85 Iron Man's "refocuser" back accessory and Dooku's force lightning.

I screwed in these hooks - https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B09B6TCDZ1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It takes quite a bit of effort to screw in, but it's pretty secure. Then I use an oval loop of fishing line with a bit of sturdy wire at the bottom to wrap into the figure. Sometimes it's into a belt, sometimes I just use the fishing line to hand them around their necks for a fully vertical pose.
They’re the standard detold panels, just added this on top: Kelimax window film
Non-adhesive and it has some grip to it to help the figures/stands stay in place
I actually just started doing this last week to a few of my cases and I think it came out pretty good. I used a velvet sheet and just cut it to size to match. You can get about 3 cases covered with this one specifically.
Something like this. Just some wipes to keep vinyl/rubber conditioned. Doesn't need to be from 303. I'm from Germany and I'm using some brand that we have here. But I've seen that US based collectors often recommend 303.

I blacked out the shelves in my detolf with this vinyl black out film. I was thinking about doing the back and the sides, but it seems pretty challenging after it’s been put together. The next one, I’m planning on putting on the film before assembling. Also, if anyone has tips to get the backing off the film, please share. Lol. It’s a bitch.
I recommend the SIMSEN dehumidifier, it works great in my small room. Of course I bought it on Amazon.

Having seen many, many people come into the hobby over the years, you will almost certainly end up with more figures and need more display cases. I'd highly recommend getting one that will fit a few, because you'll be kicking yourself later when you're out of room and could have gotten a larger case straight up instead of spending extra on a small case and then a large case.
That being said, if you want an ultra cheapo option, I have one of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09JNQMTWB
Not sure if I'd really recommend it, but it's a decent budget option. Just be aware, it looks and feels cheap and you will need glue to assemble it because it's so flimsy.

In case someone wanted to know what the led strips are sitting in I'm using these with some double-sided tape
I used this when the same thing happen to one of my other figures.
I’ve been using these light strips for years. They’re simple and straightforward to set up.
Not having everything at eye level was my exact concern too. I ended up going with this two-tier writing desk from Wal-Mart. It was inexpensive, easy to put together, and great for keeping them at eye level. Here is what one of my displays looks like.
As long as you keep up on the dusting, I personally think these are a good solution.
