Here you go.
and I probably didn't do as much flipping back and forth as I should have, I was anxious to finish and read it fairly straightforwardly.
this thing is my prize possession though, I hope to keep it clean as I reread it!
You want this one:
Not necessarily the one from that particular seller, but one with that style cover
You’re lucky I want to experience it for the first time again!! I was a little intimidated by all the comments I read about it before I picked it up. I almost didn’t pick it up at all. But yes get the colored version
Maybe not this one, I got it paperback at Barnes and noble for 22$, but get the one that says colored version like the one I linked.
Enjoy! I followed the footnotes and read through the Truant story line as well as the Navidson story line as they came. But do whatever feels enjoyable. There are some spots where it gets a little science paper-ie, but I found it worth it to trudge through those spots!
If you’re intimidated like I was, don’t be I’m an idiot and I loved every second of it.
Edit: (forgot to answer the feeling question, don’t want to give away the plot) the book made me feel completely in that world. It made me terrified, but I’ve heard a lot of people say it didn’t scare them. It’s got so much to it, it’s almost like a playground where you’re kind can go off in all sorts of different directions. I love to read, and I’ve never had quite the experience I had making my way through this book.
It’s kind of like, you know how some authors feel like they’re desperately trying to hold your attention? And they do things like leave cliffhangers and build things up? This book feels like it just exist and it doesn’t care whether I read it or not. It doesn’t feel like I’m reading something by one author, but rather I’m discovering this entire world that has been around long before I was and will be long after. I kind of feel insignificant reading this, and like an observer nothing more. I hope that makes sense, you just have to read it I think.
I just bought this on Amazon:. You can choose either paperback or hardback. I got the hard back, and it’s a full color 2nd Edition and appears to be complete. I was also nervous about buying it but it worked out.
