I'd go with a 75-100 watt bulb since you said you're running a 50watt. Also, make sure that either his basking light is UVB, or you have a UVB light in the enclosure. Our iggy loves the self-ballasted UVB lights like this: https://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Med-Powersun-Self-ballasted-Mercury/dp/B07GD6XDPV/ref=sr_1_18?dchild=1&keywords=zoo+med+uvb&qid=1617213846&s=pet-supplies&sr=1-18. One thing to know is that bulbs will stop outputting the proper amount of UVB over time. We have our bulbs on a 6-month replacement schedule even if they aren't burnt out.
Change up his diet. Due to where we live, kale is about the only thing we can get for him, besides some fruit and romaine occasionally. Also, supplement with calcium and vitamins following the application instructions.
Our methods have worked for the couple of years that we've owned him, and he has been growing steadily. In fact, he just completed a big shed.
I converted my closet into a cage. Easier than building one. I put a raised floor 12” off the ground so moisture doesn’t build up and I can store things under his enclosure if needed. And I use the clear plastic strips you see in industrial buildings that hang. Like these. https://www.amazon.com/Freezer-Vinyl-Strip-Curtain-Door/dp/B07LB9ND1W
Since it’s a bigger enclosure, a fogger will be mostly useless unfortunately. I recommend a top-down mister system. This is what I have - REPTI ZOO 10L Reptile Mister Fogger Terrariums Humidifier Extremly High Pressure Silent Pump Fog Machine Misting Rainforest Sprayer System Tank with 4PCS Nozzles for a Variety of Reptiles/Amphibians https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PRS6YCC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_GZJQES4XJMKC3DNG1C44 Though you can definitely get away with others that are cheaper, but I think the quality and fine tuning you can get with this system is worth the price. Also make sure your cage is ventilated well enough for when that humidity rises… stagnant 60%+ humidity will cause fungal and respiratory issues. It’s a fine balance between getting the humidity high and not having it be a cesspit of fungal growth 😂
His enclosure’s humidity should be at a constant 70-80%, which can be achieved by a mister system (I mean, unless you’re going to be the system and spray his enclosure down every 30 min, lol). If you can spring for it, this is what I have and it’s great - REPTI ZOO 10L Reptile Mister Fogger Terrariums Humidifier Extremly High Pressure Silent Pump Fog Machine Misting Rainforest Sprayer System Tank with 4PCS Nozzles for a Variety of Reptiles/Amphibians https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PRS6YCC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_9T191M41K1R7FHCNW14A
But there are definitely cheaper systems out there too (a fogger is not a mister, and it’s inadequate for the humidity).
No problem! You got this!
Live plants are a pain in the butt to maintain, iguanas tend to either eat or shred everything in sight so most people lean towards fake plants inside the enclosure.
And for enclosure, it's always better to custom build but this catio "Aivituvin Outdoor Cat House" is awesome for igs. We used it for my Dali dude - we were upgrading from that to his own room right before we lost him.
I use these without issue with Mega-Ray mercury vapor bulbs.

Rep-cal's multivitamin is pretty good
my Iguanas also love the The Rep-cal dry food in addition to the greens and etc you need to feed them. Google Iguana salad for some recipes on what you should make them.
Please do a lot of research before getting an Iguana, they are not beginner friendly reptiles and are a huge commitment. need proper lighting, humidity, basking spots, and diet if you want them to be healthy and happy.
Not specific to a bulb, but I like this fixture. Uses both halogen and compact fluorescents programmable for day and night. Zilla Pro Sol Light Fixture https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XR8FLX5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_BZ39Z2GVWW3Y38PKMK50?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Okay lol and No I don’t use those at night, my room is actually really warm with all the heat lamps I have for others going on in the day😊 I don’t use anything on for reptiles at night besides ones that need heat pads. And if it does ever get cold I have a few extra ceramic heat emitters from winter times! Also is this the bulb? Mega ray? mega ray uvb
Linkable plastic storage shelves! I initially bought these for the ferrets, and I’m so glad I kept them around. I have a lot of areas in my room where the iggy can run and hide under, so I use them to make a little pen big enough for Ares to walk away from me, but still be very close. Don’t remember how many kits we bought, but I’m pretty sure it was just the one.
I just did some digging to try and find the listing for you too. They come in multiple colors. To also show what a pen looks like put together, these are mine. - My floor is tile and I was worried about it getting too cold for the lizard, so I use blankets. - Heat lamps because my room gets chilly. - I’m worried my guy might be able to wedge himself under the pen because of his size, so I put leftover river rocks I had lying around in the corners so he can’t move the blanket aside. Once he’s bigger I won’t have to worry about that. - Since they’re made of plastic, he can’t climb out of them. - Each wall piece is actually a rectangle, so if you need it taller just stand it up.
Definitely keeping them even when he’s older and able to free roam without me worrying about him. They’re so handy!
I used amazon. Here is the link to the ones I used. My enclosure was a walk in closet conversion. So I had 7 ft across. I bought three ladders and drilled them into the walls and the. Used zip ties and thickish twine rope over zip ties to connect the two ladders. Also those log bendy bridges are flipping expensive but work the same way. Buy two and connect them.

You don't, short term. But they can live 30 years in captivity these days. Keep misting, providing water, and cleaning up. I'd recommend Nolvasan or similar ig safe product, the concentrates are expensive but last forever. Likely has some parasite load to shed.
Leaving it alone and working up trust is the right approach. Its a bit of an adjustment for the ig and the person initially.
At some point https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003BVIPYI/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 might look appealing.
