They actually make something for this issue. Check out these portable dock cleats https://www.amazon.com/HarborCraft-Portable-Stainless-Transportable-Adjustable/dp/B07PZ2YQLD/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=portable+dock+cleat&qid=1594670286&sr=8-2
Growing up on the water and being in the jetski industry, I use and sell these to my customers.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001HROA3S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_Z0XMQPEF334EYMZX1Z7W
You just screw them in and the ski slides off so much easier. Usually I just splash some water on them and it helps too.
Sounds like a weak battery. Running around before you put it back on the trailer topped the charge of the battery off and then what you started it at home (and I would imagine it starts easier when it's not in the water, as the started isn't having to pump water water through the jet drive, though I'm not sure if that actually makes a significant difference).
Charge the battery up and take it to an auto parts store and they'll be able to test the battery for you and tell you if it's good or not.
I leave my sea doo on a battery maintainer/trickle charger when it sits for any significant amount of time. I use a Noco Genius Model, there are certainly less expensive brands available, but supposedly these have some extra monitoring/charging tech. Most people recommend 2 or less amp charging for a jet ski, meaning that one of these should be perfect.
Do you have access to the beach or something nearby or does it need to be on a dock? I made a little pvc stand that I can put my standup on that’s halfway in the water. With two people you can easily move it to dry land. Mine essentially does this JS SX SXI SXR 300 440 550 650 750 800 Stand Up Jet Ski PWC Beach Scissor Stand https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078XLQXBY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_WEWZ15HGTPXBTTWQ4DB7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 but is way cheaper and doesn’t scissor.
Look for something like a flexible pick up tool like this: https://www.amazon.com/RAM-PRO-Flexible-Grabber-Retractable-Retriever/dp/B01LM2L50I/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=flexible+grabber&qid=1626830854&sr=8-6
Gonna leave that for her second owner to try.
For now I'll stick with Perl

It’s part of the OPAS system which is extremely problematic and best removed instead of repaired.

Good input from everyone! Thanks guys!
This ski is my baby and been with me for a long time, I'd love to keep it that way.
I know most of this is common sense to you guys and some items I already do, but I'm stuck in my ways and don't want to forget.
Just want to make sure I continue treating her right :D

Consensus seems to be:

- WD40 (inside hull/engine before riding & engine after if large water ingestion)
- Rinse, Rinse, Rinse! (Outside, inside, trailer, car)
- CRC heavy duty corrosion inhibitor (impeller, moving parts, metal that contacts salt water)
- found this Amazon - CRC Corrosion Inhibitor
- Flush (engine water jackets using hose hook up)
Since you have seadoos, they're supposed to have a place in the storage bin to fit one of these:

I keep essential tools and other things that must stay dry in that.
I also like it because it's secured and not bouncing around.
Other stuff I keep in a 20 L dry bag.
The Yamaha FX-1 was designed to be more of a freestyle ski and has that odd raised handlepole. It came stock that way. Mods are handlebar, mat kit, pipe, head, impeller, ride plate, intake grate, etc. Here we are riding it.
i changed my mind found a nicer one

It doesn't look good cosmetically. It had better run well. At a $1000 budget you won't have any leeway to be picky. And if you aren't into working on one mechanically then you aren't going to take advantage of a $300 fixer upper.
Mushroom anchors suck, the best anchor is a claw anchor, a 4 pound one held my friends 19 ft boat at a sandbar no problem. Buy this: NEW SEACHOICE 4.4 LB CLAW ANCHOR SCP 41650 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YMU985M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_B80N7H2Q2MM6JYAMY97R
If you saw my previous PSA on removing the vent tube on a 2020 SeaDoo to re-install the battery, you'd have also seen the discussion of how terrible installing the battery strap is afterward. I'd bloodied multiple knuckles in a fruitless quest for victory. The shop manual recommended a BRP tool that I couldn't source inside of 2 weeks, so I ordered this motorcycle tool people seemed to review well for snowmobile work: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B009TETYUA
It took some guess and checks but I figured it out and can now go riding, without resorting to zip ties. The trick was to bring the ring down along the side support perpendicular so that one corner could be pushed over onto the pointy end of the catch using my other hand which was snaked under the engine. Only one blood spot and much more successful lol.
Edit: Still not sure what to do with the further strap. I don't see or feel another hook to catch onto so I kinda just tucked it away. The battery isn't going anywhere with the clamping force of the first strap.

I've had really good success with this with any sticker / residue removal on my skis. Spray it on and let it sit for a bit then take a scraper and it'll come up no issues.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XSSCQD2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I use this to carry a soft top on my seadoo.
I'd suggest finding a used one locally first. If there's nothing on your Craigslist/OfferUp/Facebook/etc, then you can usually find a generic one on ebay or Amazon. Something like this one (I have this and it works fine): https://www.amazon.com/Best-Choice-Products-Watercraft-Capacity/dp/B00LXCLE72
There's a really good finance book called "The Millionaire Next Door". They actually recommend e-mailing multiple dealerships telling them exactly what you want and asking them to send you their lowest and final offer and mentioning that you're contacting multiple dealers.
If they don't send you a quote and instead send you something to try and get you in the door, e-mail them back and tell that you will be taking your business elsewhere unless they are willing to send you a quote.
this is the cheapest i have seen.

I use some basic nylon rope with trigger snaps on each end.
https://www.amazon.com/Quality-Chrome-Trigger-Snap-Swivel/dp/B00421S9W4
When it's time to replace the nylon, I'll probably use rope that has a little elasticity.
Generally Yamaha uses a Denso ignition coil style plug. Luckily, Denso supplies lots of auto manufacturers.
I'm 95% certain these will work for you: https://www.amazon.com/Ignition-Connector-Pigtail-Harness-Modular/dp/B07NWG6TPK
I just did this with 2 ski's. I used one of these eraser wheels
Gotcha. I wouldn't cross the cables - you can leave them hooked up. Use an insulated screwdriver or a remote starter switch to crank it.
I’m 47 and it’s such a rush.. 😂
Get these for your trailer:
MAXXHAUL 70472 Solid Rubber Heavy Duty Black Wheel Chock 2-Pack, 8" x 4" x 6" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CGU14T2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_QBA6RACNEQ3HQV8VAKHT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have basically that exact same setup - same trailer too. I bought this battery off Amazon. This ones fits and has worked perfectly. Doesn't come with the acid so you'll need to buy that separate. I'm sure there are a ton of other options you can buy but this should at least give you and idea of what type to look for.
What are your plans for fixing it up? Obviously some cosmetics to work on, but any idea if it runs at all?
Get a floaty strap from Amazon. They’re like $10. I use the one below and keep one in each ski glove box and one in the tow vehicle just so there’s always one nearby.

I had a bigger scratch on my rxt 260. It was a breeze to fix and I don’t think i spent more than $50. I got all the advice from reddit.
I used this kit for the repair fiberglass from amazon
Then i used this paint. paint
You can def fix it on your own in an hour or so. I was a bit apprehensive but it was easy.
I think it is fine to go back in the water as is, but I wouldn’t run it in salt water for too long without fixing it. Salt water is insidious. Good luck.
Dont be okay with hand pumps at that price. Not that all hand pumps are bad, but there's really nothing between $80 professional level vacuum extractors and $5-10 hand pumps that are beyond god awful. They're brutally slow, painful to use, and the hoses will collapse under vacuum from the thickness of the oil (Probably work great for fuel though) making you question if its working at all.
$21 electric 12v pump. Surprisingly nice little device.
I don't know about $30, but I bought this one a couple years ago and it's awesome:

If there is someone to assist, you can float the ski in about 3' of water and flip it on its' side, while someone uses the tool to remove the debris.
I recommend you report it to the local police as a Lost and Found. Maybe post a CraigsList ad and/or NextDoor.com. Check with the police on advice on what to do if no one claims it.
These are the best ear plugs on earth in my opinion - mostly because of their ease of use. Never had an issue with them at speed.

Sorry, I didn't get a notification that you commented.
I had half a mind to notch a screwdriver. I tried notching a wooden dowel but it was too wide and I couldn't get the clip to slide off onto the catch. I have a motorcycle spring tool coming in 2 days from Amazon. Will see how it goes. (Link: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B009TETYUA)
Some people swear by the Cooper anchor:
https://www.amazon.com/COOPER-ANCHOR-1KG-Nylon/dp/B07R446FK5
I use the screw in stake type and it holds fairly well, but has come loose in rough waves and ongoing large wakes.
I used to use plain ratchet straps, but I’ve slowly been converting all mine to the retractable ones that automatically wind all the excess up.
Currently have these bolted to the back of my trailer, no straps to throw in the back of the truck. Just press button to unlock, pull hook off ski, push button again to wind all the slack in. Great time saver

According to the owners manual, your ski takes the YTX20L-BS battery.
Generally, AGM batteries are best.

Get two of these bumpers if you don't want the dock scratching the side of your new ski. I use bungee cords with the plastic hooks to secure them to the ski instead of the straps they come with.

No, OP... definitely use TC-W3 rated marine oil in your ski. 2 strokes already have a disadvantage in the reliability department for obvious reasons, use the correct oil. Pennzoil Marine Premium Plus is a good choice, but Kawasaki branded personal watercraft oil is probably your best option. Plus it has that vintage racing smell!
Personal Watercraft Oil by Kawasaki. OEM W61020-305 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0087E56UA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_nY25FbKAGD2SC
Since op disappeared, I searched myself. I think the link is it. If accurate, 8W power isn't going to be loud enough to hear at speed I don't think.
I have no clue if this "portable car washer" would provide the water pressure you need but it may be worth looking into. It's also not clear what sort of fittings it has since the pictures only show their quick-disconnects attached: https://www.amazon.com/Xcellent-Global-Portable-Electric-Gardening/dp/B00ZFFLM4I?th=1
You'd still need to find a fresh water source to fill whatever container you plan to pump the water from. If you have a better power source then you could get a legit water pump that provides a lot more pressure.
> If fresh water it doesn't matter at all
Agreed.
If salt, I've taken one of these and most gas stations have a water outlet. Some marine supply and/or fishing supply stores will also let you rinse your rig there.
Hard to see on the interior, but you can tell how long it it from the duct tape.
https://imgur.com/gallery/POWlGl4
This one had decent reviews.
You could also use a lanyard to attach them to your PFD. I do that for my baseball cap I wear while riding.

Something like this:
I have one of these that I found.
I will be buying one more. I currently use my plastic jugs and dump into this one just to make quick fills easier
Ok I got a 4/3 for a killer deal. Its a Body glove 4/3 slant. I think its a couple hundred dollar suit.
I'm getting spark but it is so weak that the plugs have to be perfectly dry in order for it to fire. When I use my spark tester it can't even spark over a 1mm gap when it should go 4mm or so. Same symptom before and after stator replacement, regulator/rectifier replacement, CDI refurbish and testing. Could it have a weak flywheel? Ground seems good, resistance from negative post on ebox to negative on battery is 0.0 ohms. New stator tests good as well.
I'm stumped. I thought it was a carb issue but I've fiddled with the carb forever and tried rebuilding, tuning, replacing the carb to no avail. I think the spark tester is accurate because I tried it on my old moped and the thing threw a strong spark over a big gap.
I could see spark on mine but when I got one of these
https://www.amazon.com/Thexton-THE404-Spark-Tester/dp/B0002STSBM
I found that it was actually a weak spark that just looked good. It probably wasn't sparking during at high compression when in the engine. I replaced the voltage regulator rectifier and I had nice strong spark. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the only problem for me so I am checking the timing next. But mine is another story.
I bought this for my ski. https://www.amazon.com/UE-Wireless-Bluetooth-Waterproof-Shockproof/dp/B00YARCGQA I hang it on a zip tie on the handle bars, using the built in attachment and a back up carbineer. I've flipped the ski a handfull of times, no prob. You can't hear it at full speed, but cruising and sitting at the beach it's plenty loud enough.
No real install needed, no second battery, it's not pretty, but very easy.
