I would suggest downloading an app to practice sheet music reading. It helped me improve my speed.
This is the one I downloaded (Android), but there are many more.
Sure! And if you ever need guidance for a better practice routine feel free to book a free private lesson with me: https://calendly.com/digitalpianoschool/free-private-piano-lesson-clone
I know you can’t afford a teacher but no obligation to continue with me. I just like helping people learn piano and get on track 👍🏼
I think you should focus on being able to visualize chords in all keys on the piano. You can use an app for that. Try this one chord piano trainer. The idea of being able to "just play" and building fluency in playing chords comes from the brain, not just the hands. That's why using an app, and training to see chords on the piano in all versions away away from the piano will be beneficial.
Maybe start with learning chords on the piano. Perhaps just major and minor triads for now. Learn them in different keys. Then move on to scales. You want to get to a stage where you can, at least translate what you know on the guitar onto the piano (e.g how to play a basic E major chord). This will give you at least a familiar framework to start building upon. Since you are not a reader of music, a fast track approach to learning chords and scales might be to use an app. Try this one: piano trainer.
We are still looking, thanks a lot for your respons!
We've typically done short (~15 min) interviews ( Zoom, Skype, Discord, etc.), if that sounds alright? If so, we're scheduling interviews with this app (here's the link): https://calendly.com/nsf-interviews/nsf-interview?source=email&timezone=America%2FNew_York
The time windows are every 30min, but it should take half that time. Or you could just let me know which times you might be available.
But if you prefer text, we can create a survey from our latest topical questions.
Thanks a lot for your thoughtful reply! I didn't know this about slurs at all, thanks!
I am actually using this book for the Bach pieces: https://www.amazon.com/Selections-Magdalenas-Notebook-Alfred-Masterwork/dp/0882842625
It does give some information and notes, especially with respect to trills and ornaments but not the stuff I mentioned in my post.
For the Mozart, I use this book: https://www.amazon.com/25-Early-Pieces-Easier-Piano/dp/1854723588/ This one hardly has any notes as such.
How about the Yamaha P125. It's 88 weighted keys. Check out some of the reviews on Youtube: https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-88-Key-Weighted-Digital-Sustain/dp/B07BSM7PFL
Disclaimer: I had this app installed on a different device (an Android tablet).

It has the functionality you mention, but in my brief experience, it was far from perfect. Things like ambient noise could trigger the "note recognition", catalog it as wrong, and have the app waiting for the next note, while you were playing the previous one, so everything from there was marked as wrong, and stuff like that. It was frustrating enough for me to uninstall and move on.
But, you could give it a try. Maybe it was my tablet's mic what was wrong, or I don't know.
Also, this one is for Android, no idea if there's an iOS version, in case you needed it.
Good luck!
It is not 100% free, however if you are new to piano and want to learn basic major and minor triads to begin with then it is free in this app: Piano app
For more recommendations, you need to give some more info about what you want to achieve on the piano. E.g,. play songs, learn classical music etc..
As a beginner, you need to start with basic triads. No matter who you ask, or what resource you use, you will always get told to start with triads. There are 4 basic triad types these are major, minor, diminished and augmented. There are also 3 different ways you can play each of those triads (root position, 1st inversion, 2nd inversion). You need to know these triads in 12 keys on the piano. So in total, that is a 144 positions! So you need an easy effective way to learn and practice these. If you want to make progress fast, and not waste time I would suggest an app like this: piano chord trainer
After you have learnt basic triads, the next stage is to experiment with voicings which becomes a matter of removing, adding, substituting and rearranging notes in the triad. Because you have triads memorized this becomes easy. So does creating progressions from those chords.
