Lex here.
This is a good question. One day I'll do a thorough episode on Putin, synthesizing the books I read, but for now I think the most unbiased book is:
The Rise and Reign of Vladimir Putin by Steven Lee Myers
It may seem a little dry, but if you're interested in the study of the man's rise to power, it's good.
There is a good book about the topic. A planet of viruses by Carl Zimmer. Maybe you could take him as a guest.
More importantly than lab leakages, there is a huge pathogen potential at ice masses of poles. Ancient pathogens might revive due to melting of poles.
I'm currently making transcripts as well to put into a database that I'm creating within Notion. https://www.notion.so/Lex-Fridman-Podcast-Wiki-4291924e502c4bab9c4b0a3d653a124b
> So the argument is that anarchist = grifter?
Not to beat a dead horse but anarchism also has a storied history of well reasoned thought (someone even put together this handy collection of such essays that explore the very thoughts you're saying are grifts ), it seems pretty extreme to call someone who advocates for anarchism a grifter, you could just say you disagree.

Crude reactionary shallow environments have always existed for as long as we've been able to broadcast thought. But so have spaces where public discourse was elevated, too. Lex provides one of the latter :)
I feel like, as I've seen more of the crap proliferate, I've also seen more of the better stuff. To this old fart it just looks like we've got more of everything. And at least now we're more able to understand on a larger scale what kind of discourse we're creating. All the old machines denied us that kind of wider analytical power.
I copied the about section on Lex's website and put it into a Notion Wiki. Drafting up a wiki page is a good idea, looking forward to it
Great question! I'm no expert, but here are my essentials:
