Totally agree. I got the shits with LBC ages ago after they implemented KYC requirements and was also over their terrible customer service. Check out localcoinswap.com if you after a good alternative. They still building liquidity but in a month or two are going to corner the market imho.
I'm the co-founder. We've been operating LocalMonero, the biggest and most well-established Monero P2P trading platform for almost 3 years, and we've launched AgoraDesk about 6 months ago to provide an alternative to LocalBitcoins.
according to this screenshots:
they said, someone while trading with you, they share a malware link (and you clicked on that link...) and your a/c is wiped...
i checked today my lbc account, all logins were from my country, but one was from south afirica...
i revocked acess and changed my password on lbc and email...
i donot know how they accessed my account, but my lbc a/c has 0.50$ worth of btc and now they are available too.. i never used any vpn app, sometime i only use opera vpn... (i dont know i used asia vpn on opera there by mistake, is this due to that or not),
you should only store btc in local wallet in electrum from https://electrum.org/ (always update by downloading from website, instead by update from app) instead of lbc.... as lbc too suggest it... if you are not a trader, you only purchase from onlineshoppings, you should purchase during shopping...
I have no complaints, but it would be nice if there were some competition for the usual reasons, such as that we're not all screwed if localbitcoins shuts down.
I did Mycelium localtrader for awhile, and did 2 trades over it, but the amount of spam is overwhelming. I finally stopped using it after the 3rd time my phone started beeping in the middle of the night with an obvious scammer asking me if I took paypal for payment. I think it's a great idea, but it needs a lot more work before it is usable.
Never trade outside of escrow on any P2P platform. A sure-fire way to lose your funds!
You can buy and sell BTC with cash on LocalCoinSwap: the real local P2P exchange. Also trade ETH, stablecoins and more!
https://localcoinswap.com/
You should check out LocalCoinSwap instead. More cryptos, fewer restrictions, and staff resolve disputes way quicker than they do on LBC.

Localcoinswap is what i use. Here’s my referral link if you want it for 10% discount on the localcoinswap fee (1%).
Hey Corriah,
You should check out localcoinswap. It's a community owned p2p exchanged. They just launched. Great community behind it.
Here's my referral if you want to use it.

LocalCoinSwap (https://localcoinswap.com) is definitely the best alternative to LocalBitcoins. They are also community-owned and give 100% of the profit from the exchange back to the crypto community in the cryptocurrency that is traded on the P2P exchange. It's also not mandatory KYC so you can choose your risk and they have over 20+ cryptocurrencies so you can buy/sell in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, Dash, Dai etc They soft launched in September 2018 and have some pretty huge updates happening at the end of February. Definitely worth joining up.
