These are the typical solutions for issues like these:
Give these a try. If they do not work, please record a video clip of the issue while “Show Pointer Location” in developer options is turned ON, upload it on Google Drive, and share it here.
If possible, please also download the Gamepad Tester App (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.elron.gamepadtester) and perform the “All buttons” test in the video.
It's quite a lot of work, but it is necessary if we are to diagnose this issue properly.

I've tested it on another device and with other games, also tried your suggestions, and concluded that this issue is specific to this game. Though I still don't know if it's caused by the game being 32-bit.
But simply put, this issue causes only one joystick input to work at a time. And even if you use your finger to move instead of the left joystick, the right one doesn't work.
You could also try it out, the game is whitelisted because of its age so only this direct link works: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftNAHM
Also, I've tried this game with Bluestacks, where everything seems to work perfectly.
Hey, please go to app info and clear storage once again, and then connect only the kishi v2 and run the calibration test in Mantis. If you see the same issue once more, please send us the all buttons test results of Gamepad Tester(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.elron.gamepadtester).

FYI, since this gamepad is single-handed, you will have problems using it with Touch Inputs at the same time. Mantis will stop responding temporarily if both touchscreen and gamepad are being used simultaneously. This is mentioned in the FAQ section as well.
We will implement a fix for it in the future.
Does it have an option to switch to a different Input Mode? If yes, try that and see if that helps.
Otherwise, download the Gamepad Tester App (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.elron.gamepadtester) and share the result here.
Do you have any other keymapper installed? Also, download the Gamepad Tester App (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.elron.gamepadtester), perform the "all buttons" test, and share a screenshot of the final result here.

That is quite weird since the calibration test is working for you. Are you using a custom ROM by any chance?
In any case, Please download the Gamepad Tester App (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.elron.gamepadtester) and share a screenshot of the result here.

u/QuasiTimeFriend if you're still interested I found a solution and you meet all the requirements. What you'll need:
Your current device
Your old device
An OTG cable(the type to plug in your current device)
An USB cable(the type where the charging port will fit in your old device)
This app
I was looking into termux and stuff. Found an easier solution in the process for you lol. You can most likely use your controller without too much work now if you're still interested(just send me a reply if you still are)
Which Gamepad are you using? Download the gamepad tester app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.elron.gamepadtester), do the all buttons test, and share the result here.
Also, check if your gamepad supports multiple input mode, if yes, switch it to
HID(Human Interface Device) Mode.
Yeah, I was wondering if an old version supported android 6 but this is as far back wayback machine goes for me to check. You could try downloading the oldest version of mantis you can find on the web. Another way I was thinking was running adb with termux on your old android to activate your old one but I'm not really sure how that works and mantis doesn't seem to have an activator for linux which android is based on either. Maybe you could try asking in r/termux but it feels like the possibilities are being stretched very thin already lol

For accessibility services, you just need to disable the services. You don't need to force close/put the app to sleep or anything like that.
Can you download this app and see if the keys registers here with accessibility services on? If it displays as 'virtual device' or something like that, you're facing the bug

Nope. We still gotta wait until mantis gets reworked. If you really need to use a keyboard and have a second device you can try this but it's not worth the hassle for me since I don't chat much in the game I play
