As far as traditional MOBAs go there isn't really anything outside of what you mentioned that has any active servers or players. There's Vainglory I suppose, but that's a mobile exclusive. MXM and Paragon seemed like somewhat promising competitors but they were both shut down. You could try The Day Online if you really want to try something new. It just came out on Steam this month so it probably still has some users, but it's nothing too impressive so I doubt it will last very long.
There are pure PvP arena games that some people consider MOBAs such as Battlerite or Awesomenauts, but they're a pretty different play experience compared to the traditional PvE lane-based ones above.

Good community
"Pokémon Generations" is a 3D game made by the community, I dont think they had any copyright problems: > Pokémon © 2002-2013 Pokémon. © 1995-2013 Nintendo/Creatures Inc./GAME FREAK inc. TM, ®, the Pokémon logo and Pokémon character names are trademarks of Nintendo. > No copyright or trademark infringement is intended in using said source material in Pokémon Generations.
So if they can do this, maybe it is also possible to make a MOBA.
