Great next level tips here.
I can second Darn Tough socks and I would also suggest investing in some LL Bean slippers.
Also related to footwear--those slip on ice cleats you can put over your boots can be really handy. We go through a lot of freeze/thaw cycles and that can make sidewalks super icy. Especially if you do a lot of walking, those will allow you to go about your business normally.
The humidifiers and lotion are great suggestions. this is my fave lotion, without it my skin would slough off in ribbons in the winter. If you don't have a humidifier, you can also just put a pot of water on the stove (through some spices in there like cinnamon sticks or cloves if you're feeling festive) and that works just as good.
Try a different soup recipe every week. Warms you up from the inside, makes you happy, goes well with fresh baked bread, and you'll have enough to last for a few meals.
I was reminded of the importance of Vitamin D supplements in the last few weeks. Was dragging ass for seemingly no reason and then I remembered to start taking it again and felt normal in a day or two.
For getting outside, something simple like snow shoeing is super accessible. Also, I love a firepit in winter. Invite some friends over, make some mulled wine, get out a ton of blankets and sit around the fire...perfection
Okay so it's a bit niche, and not entirely based in "reality" (its nonfiction, but about folklore iirc, I read it a few years ago) but https://www.amazon.com/History-Vampires-England-Haunted-America/dp/1596299983
A history of vampires in new england was a fun read.
I always wanted to try Smugglers Notch in Vermont, but we never did.

I'll bite. CT where I grew up had Dudley Town. > Some attribute the demise of the town to multiple mundane factors—the depletion of the farmland, the decline of the area's iron industry, the natural progression of younger Americans heading west to settle new lands, etc. Of course, there are others who simply believed the Dudley clan was cursed, as an inordinate number of Dudleys supposedly came to untimely ends, and that the curse extended to the village they helped found.
Do you have allergies? The recent warm weather is causing spring allergy season to start.
I have Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) as part of my bipolar and I got a light therapy lamp that I use in the morning when it's cold, dark, rainy, etc.
Best of luck OP, feel better.

Growing up in Vermont myself this was a great book for bedtime. Now that I have kids myself (raised elsewhere in New England) it’s been such a joy to read it to them and tell stories of my childhood up there.
