So worth it. I switched and will never go back. Hated the diaper rash, uncomfortableness, and the sound of it when taking one out in an echoing bathroom. Can't recommend one exactly but I like these:
The downsides: you have to bring a small plastic baggie for the used pad if you're going to be out in public
You could have premenstrual dysphoric disorder, it generally doesn't appear until several years after beginning periods and is like a more extreme version of PMS:

I haven’t tried Thinx or any of the major brands, but I really enjoy these from Amazon! I don’t have regular periods AT ALL (will go 7 years without...then suddenly have them again for a few months. I don’t get it either.) but when I do have them, these bad boys seem to hold it all together for me. I sometimes pack extra pairs in case I feel nervous about leakage but haven’t had to change yet. It seems to really soak it in, like a pad, but doesn’t feel bulky or wet. They’re def granny panties but they’re comfy on a bloated crampy tummy. The blood always washes out easily too!
That's actually not very sanitary. Leaks will happen and they're honestly not a big deal. I recommend instead buying black underwear (they don't stain) and if you can then buy some thinx underwear. You can always wear a long sweater or tie something around your waist to hide a leak, but most people will not care at all. And keep backup products in your bag at all times.

Exercising on your period is good for you (unless you have a medical restriction) but not everyone can and not everyone wants to. If you want to do yoga on your period, do it. I recommend using these to increase comfort and reduce leaking...
