Is this the actual DualSense charging dock or a cheap knockoff? One is listed for $30 and the other is for I think $50, both listed as being from Sony.??
I don’t want a cheap flimsy POS copy from China.
This is what I ended up getting
Sony X800H 43 Inch TV: 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV with HDR and Alexa Compatibility - 2020 Model https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083R24RLN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_pVG8Fb3FS3A6A
Coincidence it’s $600 and I’m American? Nope.
I'm afraid the main issue now may be you plugged it in to a power source to see if it charged without making sure it was totally dried out (I inferred this from the way to explained the events). That may have shorted out components and caused further damage. But if you want to try to salvage the controller then get a contact cleaner (I use BW-100 myself but there are other good alternatives), carefully remove the cover, take out the battery, and, following the directions on the can, clean the electronics. If no component is fried, then it could help. Clean the battery contacts, too. A soft rag or swab with a little of the cleaner should do the trick. Give it a few days to dry fully (not in rice, just cover it with a terrycloth towel and put is some place away from the cat) then put it back together, charge the battery, and (if it appears the battery charges) give it a go.
Good luck.
Yea, it's very simple they designed the Ps5 to have ease of cleaning. Here is a valid link:
YouTube video: https://youtu.be/5pRxa5yai5s
The video is a bit long, but once you get an understanding for doing it you can get through it quicker.
It is memory for PS5
i personally bought the black/blue colored Western Digital gaming drive.
here it is now actually: https://www.amazon.com/Gaming-Drive-Playstation-Portable-External/dp/B07HKN92MZ/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=western%2Bdigital%2Bgaming%2Bdrive&th=
i got the 4TB model but there is a cheaper 2TB and 3TB model as well. it can hold PS4 games and play them from the drive as well. however, it will only STORE your PS5 games. the ps5 will not allow u to play ps5 games from this drive. u can only store them. to play ps5 games, u move the game from the drive to the PS5 itself in the storage option of the PS5 in settings menu. i've had the drive for a year now, has worked fine, and i usually have very bad luck with these lil drives. not so far i havent. plays ps4 games fine. also, i forget, i think there is a setting in PS5 options (or it does it automatically) where when you install or DL a ps4 game, it auto-installs it to this external drive. PS5 games installed or DL will automatically go to your PS5's internal SSD (or to the extra SSD you might have installed).
yes.. i checked my PS5 settings and in the STORAGE option, there is a setting called "Intallation Location" and you can set where your PS5 games install/DL to, and where your PS4 games install/DL to. my settings are PS5 gams go to the extra M.2 SSD I added.. the PS4 games are set to go to USB Extended Storage.
Is this seller on Amazon legit?
It's marked as Prime .. says "Pre-order 07/07" so I went for it, and I got a delivery date of Sunday (5days from now).
It's less than MSRP and comes with a charging dock??
Too good to be true?
Vented cover plates?
Has anyone replaced the original cover plates with the vented ones? I was thinking of going with a vented set but I was wondering if they actually help with cooling or not. I was looking at one of these:

Corsair HS70 pro wireless is a great budget option. It’s $99 and works on pc, Xbox x/s, and ps5. I have the 3D pulse as well and both headsets are great options. So piggy backing off my other comment about 2.0 vs 2.1, what do you think of this one?

I would suggest the Sabrent and it's Specially Designed Heatsink for the PS5, here's a link to it. Sabrent 1TB Rocket 4 Plus NVMe 4.0 Gen4 PCIe M.2 Internal Extreme Performance SSD + M.2 NVMe PS5 heatsink (SB-RKT4P-PSHS-1TB) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09G2MKHRR/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_8691PDP6GNMKJE3NXXZA

You can pickup a heatsink for $10-$15 and installation takes a few minutes. I went with this: https://www.amazon.com/heatsink-PCIE-NVME-SATA-Double-Sided/dp/B08L394K72/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=warship%2Bssd&qid=1639162997&sr=8-2&th=1 , fits in the PS5 with no issues.
Current sale pricing on a 1TB (no heatsink) is $169, w/ heatsink $219, so it's about $40 cheaper to add your own heatsink.
What do i need to protect a ps5 from power outages?
I'm looking to buy a ps5 soon however my area has alot of power outages (around 1 - 3 times most days) and I want to make sure it can't damage the console
I'm thinking of getting this power backup and I'm lost on what else is needed and if the backup is suitable or not

I’m using a WD My Passport drive and have been since I got my PS5 last November. No need to spend big on a drive. This one works just fine…

It's been pretty awesome so far.
Yeah, people who restore electronics on YouTube use isopropyl alcohol to clean circuit boards, it should be fine on the case of your controllers.
Here’s the case. I chose it because it has the indentations for the thumbtacks
I got them on Amazon, here's a link to them. You get 10 of them in a pack for a few pounds. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B015EHVIZY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_V2X48MKGE2KSVTGTJ0SM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It's just a USB C cable, nothing special. Something like this will work. Just don't get the cheapest one - check the reviews.
I have this drive here - Seagate Expansion Portable 2TB External Hard Drive HDD – USB 3.0 for PC Laptop (STEA2000400) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TKFEE5S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_V627MDE0FJMJG5T0END9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 - I have the majority of my games stored on it and haven’t had an issue yet. I was also using it for about 1.5 years before I got my PS5 so it seems pretty dependable.

I think there may be a miscommunication.
I'm suggesting to test the wall socket you are using, or try a different wall socket, for both console and TV. Here's a cheap ground tester that would work: https://www.amazon.com/Electrical-Receptacle-Outlet-Ground-Tester/dp/B0012DHVQ0 - costs about $8.
Running the PS5 on an ungroudned socket shouldn't hurt it, but it does increase the risk of shock (as you are experiencing) or electrical fires.
Edit: and there are other possible issues too, I'm just relating my own experience here for something to check.

This is the monitor I have. I don’t really know about this stuff and don’t know if it’s going to give me full next gen
Not really. All I did was purchase an AC Infinity Airplate T3. The fan controller can manage up to six fans. You can purchase additional intake and exhaust fans to go with it of you choose. I still need to put some form of intake grill in but that's a weekend job.
In terms of installation, the Airplate comes with cut out templates for the fan and the controller. I just used a large drill to make holes in the four corners of each cut out. I then used a jigsaw to cut between the holes.
The total installation time was about 20 minutes.
