Yes, I did the butterfly method but I used a little plastic dome that came with the pot I used and just kept it on 24/7. A ziploc bag should work the same though. I think I misted once while it was in the dome and yes, only when the condensation disappeared. I stopped using the dome when some of the strings started getting long enough that they were touching the sides of the dome around the 3rd week. After that, I misted here and there but haven't watered yet since I could still see that the surface of the soil was still moist.
Thank you!! Got it a couple weeks ago and have been looking forward to using it. It’s sold out on Amazon now but here’s the link:

Of course! Amazon- you can find it here. 😊
Thanks! I water my props every other day and they sit in a south facing window. This was on a shallow plastic tray in about an inch of dirt with other props before I transported it to this tiny terra-cotta pot last week. I use these squeeze bottles and just do a squirt where the roots are on each prop first thing in the morning so they have two solid days to dry out. The only ones I mist are string of pearls. I hope this helps!

It was part of a team building activity at work where we filled a globe with flowers and lit it up. I just kept the base and out a bottle over it.
Root hormones are not necissary, but they can speed up the process for slower-to-prop plants. This is the one I have and ive hardly made a dent to it over the past three years just cause theres so MUCH of it, so for me it was worth the buy.
Ive found from using it that because pothos put out an ungodly amount of growth hormones, they dont really need it and can be put in the same container as other water props in place of the powder. Succulents, on the other hand, grow like hell. When I did jade props- one with, one without the powder- the one with the powder already had established itself while the one without was still trying to get rooted.
Herbs also benefit from it, too.
So you 100% can go without and just root them w/o, but ive found I get a better success rate (less chance for molding or shit to Go Wrong to a fatal point if its established enough to be able to tell you sooner- at least for me).
Fungicides are something I haven't gotten into, though, so I can't really make a judgement on that. I usually just use a bit of cinnamon as a proactive plan and rubbing alcohol as something more reactive.
I have a potting desk, prop box and watering area. well our front room is my shedroom lmao.
I love the idea of a greenhouse though, lucky you! Definitely recommend a potting desk though.
Make your space work for you.
"Mosquito Bits" is the name of the product. It's available at my local hardware store.

Years ago I called all the nurseries around looking for a mulberry tree. They laughed at me because they said no one wants one since they are so messy. I asked around my friends and no one had a tree for me to make my own cutting. Woh woh
thats nice of you to share your tree. I don’t know the answers to your question but I hope it works out!

My pothos took almost a month before it started to root. It was my first time and I was so sacred I screwed up (the mother plant belonged to my grandmother who passed in August) but then it finally started to sprout roots. Once they started, they seemed to grow fast. I bought a jar of rooting hormone gel for next time to help it along. It seems like you got robbed because the jar is so tiny but you only need a very small amount so the jar will last a long time unless you are running a plant business. The gel seems to stay on even in water. This is the one I got
It’s the Vivosun brand on Amazon. Screw Jeff bezos, he got me again. I don’t have the fancy timer, I just unplug after the sun goes down.

Have you grown with the lights that close to the plants before? I keep some shelves a little further apart since some plants get stressed by the light, but I suppose you could just leave the lights on a shorter timer.
I suggest buying some clear shelf liner to keep things easy-to-clean and to protect your light fixtures!
Looks like a great setup :)
I have done similar but to spread small painted postcards to dry! If anyone is wondering they are hella cheap and you can find them online in multi packs. You want to search under ball whisk!

Once they sprout, you can just check them daily and water if needed. What are you trying to grow? I personally wouldn’t invest much on any automated watering systems unless it’s on a big scale.
It's a propagation box I bought off of Amazon, it does come with a cover with adjustable vents. The bottom is actually a piece of shelf liner that I added myself since it has indents in the bottom for peat pellets to sit in & I wanted a flat surface.
So I bought this a while back and then forgot to use them before winter, it might be what you need.
its a sphere shaped hollow piece of plastic. You take the bark off of a small section, snap this sphere around the stem with dirt stuffed inside and it’s supposed to grow a root ball so when you snip off the stem it’s already rooted And ready to plant.

This is what I have, fits standard trays:

I use regular plastic cups to start the cuttings and migrate them to bigger pots once they root:

I use Garden Safe TakeRoot which is super cheap and available pretty much everywhere. I've used the same canister for several years now and am only about halfway through it, since you only need a little at a time.
As for using it in water, I just looked at the container and there are no directions for using it in water. However, I have definitely done that before - just mixed a small amount in with water - and it has worked for me.
I'm sure there are people on this sub who understand chemistry and may have better recommendations, but hopefully this helps!
I kept trying to find decent priced non plastic pots but I had a ton that needed repotting at once and couldn't find decent prices for glazed pots. I ended up buying some sturdy plastic ones on amazon. I bought these ones because I liked the shape more than other similarly priced options. The same brand has a bunch of other pots that are really well reviewed, so I took the chance.
They look really great for plastic! They're very sturdy too. I like that they came with drainage trays, and the drainage trays aren't huge.
I did some quick searching for terracotta and they don't look terribly priced online
Found on Amazon! It’s a triple-goosenecked light with red and blue LEDs, and I got one with a timer. Everything seems to be happy but it’s taken some time to figure every plant’s schedule.
Edit: this one!
Also edit: there’s many versions, but the size and functionality of this one fit my needs best
