What does does nopartialtextureupdates do? Is it something to do with the way lightstyles are handled on modern hardware? It seemed people were having similar issues with newer ati cards (post-X800 series) that had some hardware level rendering feature removed and intel GMA which are all over the place.

Hey you know there's port already for Rift CV1 of Quakespasm in VR
You are obviously an expert at porting a plethora of quake engines to android, would you consider getting an oculus quest and porting the existing fork of quakespasm vr?
You should try it with Quad Touch, it's a new app from the same developer that supports multiple Quake engines.

What you posted is kind of piracy..
If you are referring to this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.drbeef.qvr&hl=en it is legitimate. The Play store app is for the Google Cardboard version.
The GearVR one is a separate package / release and not available on Google Play store. it needs to be sideloaded.
I was referring to Quakespasm having an existing VR port: https://github.com/phoboslab/Quakespasm-Rift
and android port: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.opentouchgaming.quadtouch&hl=en_US
Hi, sorry for the delayed reply, I've not looked at this sub for a little while.
The cardboard version was removed as it turns out it violated copyright.
I have re-released it as QVR: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.drbeef.qvr
Which phone do you have? I restricted compatilibity with a number of devices as I had a lot of people saying it didn't work.
