The whole playoffs I have been changing drinking glasses after every loss, rotating between a rocks glass, a tall thin Collins glass, and this funky shaped glass. So, one of those glasses (the shaped one) obviously went on a hell of a run, 4-0, with the Rangers scoring 21 goals in those four. Sunday's game, mid afternoon and I've only been up since noon, didn't feel like drinking so didn't for the 1st period. I'm getting nervous and think the Rangers need some lucky glass mojo. Make a negroni in the shaped glass, it's 2-0 before I've taken more than three sips!
But then you know what happened. So last game was the rocks glass turn, and both that spilly glass and the NY Rangers sucked butt.
So tonight is the Collins glass turn. Or is it?!? Do I keep the rotation up that's worked to a degree all playoffs, or do I bring the heavy hitter in out of rotation? Or do I save the heavy hitter for what might be an elimination game 6, which would be his turn anyway?
BIG DECISION.
bahahahhaahaha
>When President-elect Donald J. Trump offered Rick Perry the job of energy secretary five weeks ago, Mr. Perry gladly accepted, believing he was taking on a role as a global ambassador for the American oil and gas industry that he had long championed in his home state.
>In the days after, Mr. Perry, the former Texas governor, discovered that he would be no such thing — that in fact, if confirmed by the Senate, he would become the steward of a vast national security complex he knew almost nothing about, caring for the most fearsome weapons on the planet, the United States’ nuclear arsenal.
Garrison Keillor too?? Should have known after he came to Al Franken's defense. https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/11/29/567241644/garrison-keillor-accused-of-inappropriate-behavior-minnesota-public-radio-says
Of course known best from Jefferson Airplane, his solo album from 1970 was career defining to me (and others, of course). Good album, very unique.

Speaking of Bernie supporters, the excellent Glenn Greenwald had a column in The Intercept (which is also consistently excellent) yesterday about the horseshit tactics and lies a lot of the pro-Clinton media have been getting up to lately in trying to paint Sanders supporters as a bunch of out of control frat boys.
It's a bullshit dodge to try and win sympathy among people who don't really dig into the issues or follow politics or know their history, because all three of those things don't speak very well of Clinton if you're a liberal.
And Mike, I remember you speaking positively about Bradley now Chelsea Manning in the past, right? I wonder what Hillary's position on the whole thing was?
This is coming from Hillary "Private Server" Clinton, no less. There are so many issues she's been on the wrong side of, it's incredibly frustrating anyone who considers themselves left of center either willfully or unknowingly looks past her horrible record.

>In terms of the Substance of Their Discussions, SECHIN’s associate Said That the Rosneft president WAS SO Keen to lift personal and corporate western Sanctions Imposed on the Company About enterprise, That he offered PAGE / TRUMP’s associates the brokerage of up to a 19 per cent (privatised) stake in Rosneft in return. PAGE has expressed interest and confirmed that were TRUMP elected US president, then sanctions on Russia would be lifted.
Oh yea and then there is this...
So apparently, this was an exhibition game and not the tournament?
Considering the sparse articles about this made it sound like it was part of the World Cup, this is just dumb, yet yay? that this wasn't a "real" game at least.
To 3bas's point though, if you read the game recap, these teams were apparently beating the crap out of each other before the "real" games start next week.
Cue the days before some team's franchise player gets hurt in this.
Oh dang, that's a great list of films, and a subject after my own heart as I made a list of similarly themed movies ("Gritty New York City") on Rate Your Music last year...

Can't go wrong with a Pelham/French Connection double header. I watch Pelham 1-2-3 every few years, one of my favorite movies of all-time.
This is why (apart from the more timely hockey trade\rumor updates) Twitter is still worthwhile to me.
Just got one. There's lots of different sellers on Amazon, this one was the best price ($415)/arrival date (May 30) I found:

First Ranger team to score 5 goals in 5 straight games since '78-'79.
And that team went to the finals, so.... book it.
(they also had the best sports book I've ever read written about them: https://www.amazon.com/Thin-Ice-Season-Hell-Rangers/dp/0440185718)
... Religion hadn't featured much in my life until that night but I suddenly became willing to convert to any religion to stop the violent burning around the turd tunnel and what seemed like the destruction of the meat and two veg. ..
My ex bought it for me, as it was one of her favorite books of last year, but I only started it yesterday. So far so good.
I read 38 books in 2015, which is crazy.
