JJC Lens UV Filter for Ricoh GR III GRIII & GR II GRII Attach with Eco-Friendly & Removable 3M Adhesive 99.5% Light Transmission 38 Layers L39 Ultra S https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WGFLHC2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_iHis4bxuVWCcE this will keep all dust out
If you just want to put it in a pocket or bag you've already got, and want a bit more protection from keys, etc., I bought some slightly padded, slightly stretchy mesh drawstring pouches on Amazon. They are super useful for loads of things (batteries, etc.). One fits my GR1v perfectly, and I'm sure would fit a GRII too, as they are almost exactly the same size, I believe.
Cost nothing. Weighs nothing. Takes no time at all to take the camera out of.
Just chuck it in my bag along with everything else, and I'm good to go.
Edit: Mine don't seem to be available anymore, but they are essentially like this, but maybe a touch larger. Masses around - just a case of finding one with the right dimensions.
I found a case that fits tight and keeps the camera smaller in your pocket than the Ricoh case. I love it. It’s by Lenscoat and it’s neoprene.
I got this nice leather wrist strap from Etsy.
Def get the JJC thumb grip everyone gets. It fits fine in the case I mentioned.
I applied a JCC UV Filter to my Ricoh GRiii (amazon link) for 19€.
It's not magnetic, it's directly glued on top of the lens. No impact on image quality in my opinion (still blown away by the sharpness of the lens) and significantly reduces the likelihood of having dust get onto the sensor through the lens.
Isn't it just a regular wrist strap? Seems to me like it is😅 https://www.amazon.com/Cobee-Lanyard-Adjustable-Straps-Mobile/dp/B09ZL6WDX5/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?crid=R6R3D3T666UW&keywords=cobee+wrist+strap&qid=1668845912&sprefix=Cobee+wrisy%2Caps%2C209&sr=8-7
I've found it extremely useful for everyday street-shooting to have this real leather soft case with a good belt loop and magnetic button-snap cover. Allows me to carry it around all the time inconspicuously under jacket or untucked shirt. With single hand I can easily unsnap it, lift camera out, push on-button, and shoot in practically one motion. No need to reach into my shoulder bag or squirm around to get it out of a pocket. Easier to hide and more protected, of course, than something around my neck or wrist. Reasonable price for a leather good: on Amazon @<https://www.amazon.com/RICOH-Leather-GC-11-Compatible-Models/dp/B09FQ7G5FV/ref=sr_1_13?crid=1MQH5B8UIXIGT&keywords=ricoh+gr+iii+pouch&qid=1667580613&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIzLjY1IiwicXNhIjoiMS45MiIsInFzcCI6IjEuNTkifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=ricoh+gr+iii+pouch%2Caps%2C99&sr=8-13>. Enjoy!
I have two soft padded cases you may like.
My everyday case is great for the camera, but I'm having trouble finding a link to it. It's the Case Logic TBC-403 (the Amazon link currently has pics for a different product).
Another case I have is slightly bigger but also very nice. It's the Amazon Basics Vintage Camera Case for Compact Cameras.
Enjoy your trip.
I´m afraid not, I just bought an standar 49mm one. similar to this
I bought a JJC filter that glued to the lens top. Keeps it compact and offers protection.
I bought the magfilter which is magnetic - MagFilter 49mm Threaded Adapter Ring with Carrier Bag Compatible with S95, S100, S110, S120 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y4FNP31/ref=cm_sw_r_apanp_Pbvu2ZKN5gPRP
Allows for quick attachment of filters but doesn't give peace of mind as it is magnetic and may come off due to unintended nudges. I would prefer a stick -on adapter.
I use the included wrist strap and a Lowepro Dashpoint 10, which fits it like a glove Lowepro Dashpoint 10 Bag for Camera - Slate Grey https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008OQUY5S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_0DWYAM9A2Z3AE7QSEKEM
Just a basic set from Amazon Hand Wrist Strap Lanyard, Avorast 6 Pack Adjustable Colorful Nylon Hand Wrist Straps for GoPro, Camera, Keys, Keychain, Phone, USB Flash Drive, Joy-Con, Wallet, ID Name Tag Badge (Mixed Vibrant) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08M9ZJMM6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_NKFTRYGJV3B88SHF5MK8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have both. I like the GRii more than the GRiii. I have it with me everyday. I sold my x100T for the GRii. For important pictures where I can take a bag of gear and lighting I use a full frame Nikon. But for casual snap shooting and street photos - there is nothing like a GR!
I think you'll be very happy with the GRii especially if you're not planning on messing around with RAW/DNG files. Get a dongle to upload to your phone for photo back up. (Use a small but very good SD card so you dont end up storing a bajillion photos on there and always save it on to a cloud service.) You can also use the wifi on the GRii...but its slower.
A seller on Amazon Canada is selling new old stock for $650 CDN or $500 USD. I'd hurry - I just checked and there are only 4 left.
I think it depends on how you're using the flash. I really enjoy the Q20ii when I want to use the transmitter function and use the flash unit off camera (like camera one hand, flash in the other. At least for me, using the flash actually attached the camera didn't work out as well as I had hoped. I think that in that use case the flash doesn't fully cover the 28 mm focal length. Generally, if you're trying to use flash on the hot shoe, and not off camera, I'd recommend a Sunpak auto flash or a simple flash unit like this one.
FWIW, I was able to order one of them in stock on Amazon Canada, which is now showing a delivery estimate of Dec 5.
Here is the link to the listing, RICOH GR IIIx Digital Camera [Focal Length 40mm] [ Equipped with24.2M APS-C Size Large CMOS Sensor ] https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B09GL1L694/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_6JX6AXBDV38HK25BK1MV
Good luck!
The manual on p146 refers to this error message as memory card error. To rule out memory cards defect I would do an overwrite formatting with the official sdcard app.

I’ve been looking for info related to this myself.
Have across this - https://explorecams.com/model/gr-ii
So will be trying it out with the most common ones.
Will go with what _bluequartz suggested for bright daylight and compare results
I have this one with no complaints. It has a belt loop, but I've never worn it there TBH.
I use these wrist straps from amazon. I like the ones that have the thing to tighten around your wrist.
I just got my used GR iii today (previously owned a ii, moved on to an X100F, then moved on again to at XT-3...but missed having a pocketable option and, missed the GR. I bought some $6 pouches but haven't received yet (Saturday, I believe). I can update if you're curious. These are what I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NB131MC
I picked this one up at Target, but here is a link to it on Amazon. It's not super snug which is good since the lens assembly sticks out a little. It has a small pocket that's perfect for an extra battery.
I bought one of these because I'm always scared of smashing the front lens shade on something. Other than occasional flaring it works great and if you hate it enough you can just pull it off.
With this adapter I got on Amazon:
This adapter allows you to screw on any 49mm filter. I already had the ProMist filter (52mm) so I just got a step up ring to fit the adapter on the Ricoh.
I take my GR iii trail running and hiking, and have been really happy with a simple neoprene case I had for a Sony RX100. Fits the GR perfect and provides some protection from drops and the elements, and is very low profile.

Jeez some salty people on this thread. If anyone is looking for a smaller alternative, check out the Pelican Go G10, fits the GR III perfectly (but no accessories, not even my metal lens cap) but good for storage and transport aside from shooting just like OP's
Congrats! Not sure where you’re located, but I grabbed these off Amazon.ca and they seem to work pretty well. I would say the Ricoh Branded batteries last slightly longer, but they certainly do the trick for some extra juice. Also comes with a charging dock which is nice. I was a little hesitant given the limited reviews on Amazon, but after a few months of using them I can say they work fairly well. A lot cheaper than the OG Ricoh ones too!

that sucks. how is it using it without the screws? im just afraid taking it outside bc of dust getting in the camera.
just purchased this on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XK456SN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
will keep you posted if it works.
Looking for DSTE 2X Li-90B on Amazon.

Hey there. Its just one I bought off amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CZHFBPF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Cheers!
This fits the GRIII perfectly. I use a wrist strap on the camera hanging out of the case, with it slung over my back on bike rides.
Ape Case Basics Mini Digital... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I249NE?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Has anyone had any luck with tiny key rings that fit the small strap holes on the GRIII? They are so small and the radius is too tight for all of the rings I've tried. I'm currently using a peak designs tether attached to the camera but it is a silly solution as I'm not using a peak designs wrist strap with it.
Have you tried this one? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.osdn.gokigen.gr2control
Typically, I just use a card reader to move photos to my phone, as I can pair using my Pixel 3, but the process is somewhat annoying, as it won't typically work unless I 'forget' the WiFi connection and re-connect. Somehow my old OnePlus 3T does WiFi transfers with my GR flawlessly every time, but I haven't found it be the case with the Pixel series.

Download this app, hold the review button on the camera while it's off until it turns on the WiFi hotspot, tap your phone to the NFC part of the camera, and then open the Image Sync app.
I picked up a Hermitshell travel case along with my Ricoh GR ii. Arrived yesterday. Works well as a case to toss into my messenger bag. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018I5PWH4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
