Edit: I actually stayed at the farm at the base of the mountain in the image. The folks there were such wonderful hosts and genuinely enjoyed seeing all the visitors.
I'm from Vermont in the US, and every time I see a picture of (non-urban, non-coastal) Sweden, it looks a lot like my neck of the woods. If you ever play GeoGuessr, the only way to tell the two apart is the language on the road signs.

Yes, it was thought to be Byzantine. But it is actually an Umayyad city founded by Caliph Walid Ibn abd al-Malak at the beginning of the 8th century. And it's called the city of Anjar. Anjar
