I dont know if this answers your question but my way is to face the issue of shame. Shame is basically a feeling that one is worthless or bad. Tackle shame first is my advice.

Low self-esteem sucks and I suffer with it too. Working through this book - “10 days to self-esteem” , recommended by my therapist, changed a lot of things for me. I highly recommend you get yourself a copy! For what it’s worth — you ARE beautiful.
