I had the same exact problem a few months ago when I started the hobby! After doing some research, I found that Slide brand surfskates are actually pretty decent, and pretty comparable to carver (at least based on what others have said). I personally purchased mine through amazon here! The 33" swallow board is quite nice, Ive been really enjoying it! Great for beginners and you can still pump uphill and do fun carves.

Glad to help! I’m like you I always want to push it and know I’ll pay the price sooner or later. I wear my shorts over them so no one knows haha. Good luck looking forward to more posts!

Appreciate it! I picked up a comparable product but may return it and go with triple eight instead. Hopefully you heal up too! Injuries are no fun.
Your local hardware store, it's a commodity item but they might not have a quality finish you want to show off or it may rust. They are generally a standard size for all trucks.
Or you can just order them and save yourself the hassle.
I've got a Moose "Old School" deck ($35) with Thunder 151 Hi Sonoras (recycled), Waterborne front/rear adapters, and some off-brand 65x51mm 80A wheels. All in for around $100. It's my favorite setup. My only complaint is that the deck is a bit stiff due to the 7-ply maple. But it has great concave and just enough kick in the nose to hold you in there (personal preference).
To keep it simple: oragantang as they already mention here and I’m trying bones hardcore bushings LINK because I’ve read a comment here about them and, man the internal part helps so much
Oh yes Vibrams are pretty cool or u can just go Bare
I grabbed a pack of these to mess around with. I ended up with the red 96a on both trucks pretty tight and let the waterborne do most of the work with their stock bushings. I have top mount board with tkp trucks using 70mm wheels and I get no wheel bite. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FKRM17P/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_T1B1VXGY6R3K2HEQ5BWE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Hmm mine is a universal one a bit like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004T7OQ/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_BM635HNK2Q7XWNHTYNK4
I guess if you have a choice of sizes, you measure the heads of the bolts, and choose that size - then you can't accidentally make the countersink wider than needed by drilling for too long (you can still make it deeper than needed, but that will be fairly invisible)
Actually you can get a legit Waterborne Surf + Rail Adapter in the UK for £60
Some extractors require you to drill down into the bolt head, but some just hammer onto the outside with sharp teeth that cut into and grip the bolt as you turn it - they work well if they fit.

I know it's a UK link but it's just to give you an idea of them.
Search this sub for NKX and NKD - lots of experiences and opinions.
Even though it looks a bit daft, Charger-X are a solid budget option - I liked more than the carver triton I had; currently £81 on Amazon, and black spray paint is cheap. My trucks are now on a different deck, and still great.

Dude, I tried replying to your previous post before the "no stupid question" lockout. These are the same generic chinese CX clones used and rebranded by Outride - much cheaper - add an old school/cruiser deck with soft cruiser wheels and you're started cheap.

Yeah someone calls It C4 or C2 the thing Is that im searching for a truck like this to use it on a smaller board like a cruiser https://www.amazon.it/Carver-Skate-Cruiser-multicolore-colore/dp/B0148YDAMS
I got this board and I think it would fit you perfect. It’s the Powell peralta ray bones OG deck. I got CX on it with orangatang knuckles and 4pres wheels. Rides like my Yago Dora but shorter WB. I got it from a skate shop site that lets you add grip so you don’t have to do it yourself.
For the moment, everything is still stock. I did order softer 88a bushings but got the wrong ones as they're too narrow.
Yeah, the same. Also bought this one, first time on a surfskate. It's more stable than I expected, can be used even for some normal cruising.
But oh man, the pumping is a workout for a whole body :D But I love it: https://www.komoot.com/tour/501430779?ref=aso
The path I ride isn't super long and it's never very bad it's usually like 2 corners that ever need any touching up. And it's usually a touching up walking up the hill the first time. It's steep enough that I'm too lazy to push up it.

Like I said, the Landyachtz surfskate requires modding. You NEED to get after market bushings to get them to carve well enough. They just threw in their stock grey urethane for the bushings, which are way, way too hard for surfskates.
I use these: https://www.amazon.com/Riptide-Tall-Cone-Bushings-APS/dp/B07BR236NS
70a is an insanely soft duro for bushings, and with 70a tall cones, my Landyachtz Pocket Knife carves just as hard as my Carver CX, which I put an 85a Powell Peralta Hardcore Barrel in.
From just a technical perspective, the Landyachtz Surfskate truck IS an improvement on the Carver CX, which until now has been the standard for the high angle front truck category (although the design is so easy to cast and rip off).
The Carver CX angles the bushing seat in a way that does not maximize bushing compression and therefore stability. Regarding the stability issue this is offset by the fact that the angle keeps the boardside bushing mostly on a vertical axis, so that the weight of the rider and deck + gravity pushes the boardside bushing down into the bushing seat, which compensates the stability. But the fact that it's set at an angle means that one side of the bushing gets chewed up way faster than the other, reducing your bushing longevity by 50%. This also means that the CX has, I dunno how to describe it, but the opposite of dive - since it compresses one side of the bushing much much more than the other, that side of the bushing "maxes out" on compression much more quickly than normal, which means that the truck center feels loosey goosey, but then rapidly increases resistance and rebound the harder you lean into the turn.
Appears to be another Carver CX clone. There are so many out there! I bough this one myself recently. The aesthetics are slightly different, but when it comes to function. They move and act just like CX trucks based on my experience. Turning radius seems to be about the same compared to all the original Carvers I own.
Similar size dude as you, who also got a waterborne adapter for surf training.
I originally had it on an 8 inch popsicle board, and really didn't dig it. Asked around on this subreddit and decided to get a bigger board. I got this 10" pool deck from amazon for pretty cheap and it completely changed how the board rode. Now I take it to the skatepark and can even shred bowls with it. Unfortunately it looks like this board is sold out, but I'm sure you can find something similar for cheap.

Hard wheels are not going to pump the same. They will be slippery when you pump, period. But unlike soft wheels, they can ride on wet ground.
You can however, still pump, just get lower, and be prepared to control the pump instead of just going full wiggly.
Another recommendation is Certified protective gear. Especially a helmet, elbow pads, and a wrist guard.
One final note, like a gun, if you get it wet, the moment you're done skating it, you gotta oil it or it will rust. Smoothstar recommends Sewing Machine Oil.
Have fun doing 360-720 power slides!
I bought a new surf skate setup with the carver c7 trucks. I was getting the feel for it thought I was doing great. Still getting used to weighting my feet, when I surf I am heavy on my back foot. So I go to do a power turn and put too much weight on my back foot. Board flies out, I land on my right side skin an elbow and bruise my hip. After that I bought these padded boxer shorts that protect your butt and hips. Helmet, wrist guards, kneee pads, elbow pads the whole deal. I’d rather look like a kook and skate every day than be laid up for a week watching videos of it. Also I’m 37 years old so falling and recovering isn’t what it used to be.

Flow surfskates are pretty good and affordable, and you can get the shorter ones for about the same price off their website with 15% off. Just takes a week to ship lol But yeah I have this exact one and it's pretty fun. I've never surfed so I can't compare but this one is def too long for a lot of fun lil tricks but it's pretty damn stable which is great since I bomb small hills and general use it as a pumping cruiser https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KMWJ945/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_9vPmFbXHTDAC7
It depends on what you're after. I really like to be able to lay my board over and push hard without any unintentional sliding. I've been riding Carver Concave Roundhouses (78A 70mm) and like them well enough for that.
Just today I tried out a super cheap set of generics that I bought off Amazon. Mostly, I figured I'd use them on a board I'm building for my kid. For $13 bucks I wasn't expecting much. Out of the package, they looked cheap - too shiny, no graphics (despite the pics in the ad). But I swapped out my Roundhouse wheels with these and took 'em for a spin. I have to admit, they feel good - really good, actually. Super smooth, really good hold. I can fully lay into them and they seem to track great. We'll see how they hold up. If you're on a budget, don't care about looks, and don't want too much release/slide, these seem like a decent starting point. Probably a bit too soft too make really good use of parks though.
