take a look at "My Stocks Portfolio"

Pick some good equities (stocks and ETFs) that you can afford - under $150 (not a hard stop) for your account size. Consider EEM, ATVI, AMAT, LVS, NKE, PYPL, TTWO, JPM, WYNN, DIS, GLD, MSFT, EW, MDT, MRK, DG, etc. Russell2000 companies may be a good start.
Candlestick Chart Analysis is too subjective for my taste. I would go with Technical Analysis using indicators like MACD, RSI, Momentum and Bollinger Bands. ThinkorSwim is a good platform and free. Web charting sites can usually do this too (stockcharts.com, tradingview.com, etc.). Even those are subjective but they are clearer to see than "Head and Shoulders" and "Double Bottoms", etc.
Some people feel that SMA (10/30) Cross-Overs (similar to MACD) are a good strategy, though somewhat delayed. I personally like the MOBO Strategy - clear cut and objective and faster reaction time (though sometimes a little choppy).
I would recommend trading with the trend (SMA>50). In other words, if the trend is upward AND the price is above the trend line, then trade long. Otherwise, the opposite applies to shorting.
Oh, and read as much as you can get your hands on. You have to sift through a lot of crap to get to the good stuff. Just listen to your gut. If it sounds right, then paper-trade it. Don't commit any real money until you PRACTICE IT.
Good Luck!!
This book is a great resource:
How to Make Money in Stocks: A Winning System in Good Times and Bad, Fourth Edition:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/0071614133/
It starts out with 100 charts showing a winning pattern. Don't expect any "secrets" however, and hold anyone promising such in high suspicion.
This is a 60 page, fast read, and ALL you need to know to get started in swing trading. I've read them all (well, like 20 books), and this one is still the best system that gets me the best returns. Easy read and you won't regret it. It's only ten bucks too. No, I don't know him or have any connection to author. Just a fellow swing trader trying to help...
