They have actual in-game trailer now. Cao Cao looks pretty dope
If anyone bothers to read the blog, they are doing 2 modes. One is Romance (Default), which follows closely to Dynasty Warrior, where one general can hold off against hundreds of troops.
I've read the novel so I am not sure where they got the idea of "these characters can hold their own against hundreds of rank-and-file warriors", so it seems likely to be influenced by Dynasty Warriors somewhat. It's also the first total war games to have unique models for characters
The other mode is more for a historical approach (Classic) where all generals have bodyguard units https://www.totalwar.com/blog/three-kingdoms-romanticised-history
I assume you mean the Foreign Language Press 4-volume box set. Yes, it does have illustrations. They are mass market sized paperbacks with thin pages similar to a Bible. Has all the footnotes and introduction as well.
Yes they do but I don't know if I would recommend you to read it as the text is in old Chinese (think Shakespearean English) and then translated to another language (English in this case) so its going to be a very dry read. But if you are interested, here is an amazon link for Li Ji https://www.amazon.com/%E7%A4%BC%E8%AE%B0%E8%8B%B1%E8%AF%91-%E8%8B%B1%E6%96%87%E7%89%88-%E4%B8%AD%E5%8D%8E%E7%BB%8F%E5%85%B8%E8%8B%B1%E8%AF%91%E4%B8%9B%E4%B9%A6-%E5%8C%BF%E5%90%8D/dp/7564153962
There’s a few good English versions, but I usually recommend this one:

Oh wow, I tried to find the annals of wei a while back but couldn't, could you also share your link lol?
Here is the records I bought, unfortunately it isn't the full version. I guess the full version has never been translated into English. I think this is still definitely worth the buy though

I found the same books selling at bookdepository.com for cheaper and with free worldwide shipping. And when I was pondering whether to order the books I thought of checking out the e-book version at Google books. Found them and they are selling at a higher price than the physical books! Looks like we pay more for convenience than material and logistics.
Unfortunately I only found an Abridged edition of Moss Roberts.
I was (am) also after it, but abridged doesn't do for me, so I'm reading the modern Iverson version.
If you're cool with the abridged version that's it: https://www.amazon.com/Three-Kingdoms-Historical-Novel-English-ebook/dp/B00HXIUDRM/
That's called Wade-Giles. Developed by a British diplomat in the 1800s. It does some things well, for converting Mandarin sounds into English. In other ways it misses the mark.
Hanyu pinyin is the system you're looking for, and the one used officially everywhere now. It improved some things... and also misses the mark on others. Oh well.
The one you linked is the one I have, I believe. Bible thin pages to fit it all in each small volume like that.
Edit: When I clicked your link a second time, it brought me to a different version? This is the one I have.
This one?
There were a couple of books by Moss Roberts. I wasn't sure which one to get. This one looked like a manga.
Sangousha board game. Best played with 4-6 players. It's my favorite board game, being able to play as Sima Yi or Taishi Chi is only half the reason, freedom for lot's of great strategy and hijinks with this game.
Luckily, I was just sharing this link with a friend recently!
Same, I really didn't like the subplot with the lady, so uncharacteristic, aside from that great movie. My favorite action scene, was where he fought the spear guy, who kept doing awesome twirls, and the guy with the comically large sword. I also really liked Cao Cao and Zhang Liao (probably my fave casting choice). I don't remember the blow dart scene, guess I should give the movie a re-watch soon!
This looks like the version I own. I gleefully hunted down Red Cliff in a video store back in the day, not many video stores now ToT https://www.amazon.com/Red-Cliff-International-Version-Part/dp/B0030A6ICG/ref=pd_aw_sim_74_1/135-2404773-0842939?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0030A6ICG&pd_rd_r=6512b5ff-5dbb-4e21-8a7a-08e7d2597a98&pd_rd_w=AKqWs&pd_rd_wg=tvcGZ&pf_rd_...
Sorry to bump an old thread, but does anyone know if this version of Moss Roberts' translation is the same as the Two volume set?
I just like the design a lot more with this version, and four volumes seems easier to handle than two.
Is the Moss Roberts translation supposed to be rare? I got mine from Amazon : By Moss Roberts
