I know the other comment sent you down the block heater rabbit hole but I'd like to propose an alternative to that. Oil comes with two viscosity ratings, and we all know the first number with the "w" designates the winter rating - as long as you're choosing the correct oil for the temperatures you're encountering, your oil is not going to become ineffective. It will be fine, especially if you allow it to warm up before driving.
What you want is a freeze plug, and this is why. First of all, the oil takes care of itself like I said before, so a block heater is not necessary, and if it were then all pickups would come with them from the factory. The reason they don't use block heaters is because the frost plug heater warming the coolant and the radiator is more beneficial to more components than a block heater is. Having a warm radiator means that as soon as you start the engine, the transmission is also able to begin warming itself immediately as it cycles cold transmission fluid through the cooler located inside the warmed radiator.
A much more effective use of your funds would be to pick up a battery blanket (unless you have an AGM battery), and maybe one of these if you want to get fancy and/or are lazy like I am
I installed this on my 2010 Double Cab Base. Super easy if you give the YouTube video a watch beforehand.

I got this one. It’s shaped to the dash and blends in beautifully. Not tacky at all and can do the backup camera + so much more

I got that for free, they post that on facebook and said there are giveaway for test, I don't know if there are still any free ones available, you can contact
I have mine wired to this switch which I replaced one of my factory blanks with

was hoping they had those gater mats for my 2013, but no such luck.
i find the factory headlights to be some of the brigher headlights out there. never understood the need to go brighter in these trucks.
that said, one of my favorite mods are some ditch lights tied into my high beams. they offer some serious deer protection as they light up next to the road very well. helps a lot when im driving back roads to my cabin. with one flip of the oem switch im back to low beams.
another favorite mod is a center console tray.
i got this one:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08T19XMZZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 only cause it was on sale. there are dozens that will work fine. it is made for the 2014-2021 trucks, but a bit of dremeling and it works great on the 2nd gen.
other favorites are a AA headunit with reverse cam, reverse lights(same as OPs), air bags for hauling pellets... and of course the 5100 leveling shocks with 1+ oversized k02s.
i have a softopper on the way that im pretty excited for.
I have had a .50 cal bullet antenna and I’ve had great reception. I had to loc-tite it on because I guess assholes were stealing them?! Not sure if this is your style but it works fine on my truck.

Welcome to radio reception hell hole for Tundra owners that want an alternative...
any alternative that is stubby/small seems to have deficiencies... I settled on my 3rd option even though it did not solve the problem of reception but did solve the problem of flimsy antenna that is prone to break .. specially in car wash.
This is the one I settled on

No worries. Sumo springs make some pretty good bump stop replacement springs as well. Great video on the link showing how easy the installation is and in action.

This will reduce a lot of the static and interference you receive, but will also reduce the range of reception you receive from your local stations. I know it says for 2014, but it should fit your 2008, the antenna didn't change.
The stock antenna has a multi-purpose design. Increased reception, reduce wind noise and vibration, and act as a height indicator when traversing under objects (if your antenna hits it, the top of your truck will too).
I put in a tablet infotainment system on my 2010 double cab.
I also installed new head lamp assemblies with DRLs. Guys at work thought I bought a different truck when I rolled in
This spring I’m going to install a backup camera. You can get the OEM one and it’s built into the tailgate handle. Just gotta wire it through the cab and to the tablet screen.
The chrome bumpers are fairly easy to replace when they start to rust or get dents. The rear took me about 4 hours to do, and half of that was me drilling out the bolts because they all broke off. Front requires the removal of plastic clips that get brittle and break over time.
LOOK INTO THE SAIS (secondary air injection system) mine went on my 2010 with 110,000 miles. It costs thousands to repair, but I was able to buy a bypass kit for it, $800. It’s an emissions thing Toyota had on their engines for a few years, and is a known problem. Nothing mechanically is wrong, but the emissions computer tells the truck something is broken and throws it into “limp mode” with reduced acceleration and power. I think you’re beyond this issue at your mileage, but it’s good to look into.
Are those original tow mirrors? Don’t think I’ve seen those before

So shipping will be about $40-50… for UPS ground.
I need the catalytic converter, O2 Sensor, and all the hardware and gaskets for these as well.
I understand it would be an effort on your end to take all these parts off.
I can pay $100 to you plus the shipping so $150 total? I understand either way how you feel about it
Here’s an eBay link to one I’m looking at buying otherwise.. for $200 https://www.ebay.com/itm/303843897080?fits=Model%3ATundra&epid=1027679615&hash=item46be81eef8:g:A98AAOSw93pf~MqO
And O2 sensor…$20
How handy are you?? because this one is super easy to install and you can find many videos online. No wire cutting just relocating some connectors.

BTW.. the price compared to early 2020 is only like $3 more expensive so this item has survived the price craziness
I've tried multiple things on my Toyotas oil filters and struggled a lot until I met the three jaw filter wrench design. The more you push the tighter it grips the filter.
Something like this Innovant Adjustable 3 Jaw Oil Filter Wrench Tool Best for Removing Motorcycles Cars Trucks & Heavy Duty Oil Filters Fits Diameters 2 1/8-4 1/2 Inches Fits ⅜ and ½ inch Drive https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017THUBFK/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_651YYQM5NGH9NJ43KTH1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I've had to replace the tailgate handle on my 2010 twice now. The first I had done at a mechanic's. Second time I did myself as it was really easy. Here's what I ordered from Amazon:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07LGJS665/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
After having two handles snap off I am so delicate with opening my tailgate now, lol.
One suggestion: upgrade that window shade to a custom one. Yes it’s pricey, but it’s worth it. It has been my go to Christmas gift for family. My parents said that it’s one of the best gifts I’ve ever given them and we are in TX also.
The side facing out will get extremely hot while keeping the rest of the truck much cooler.
Yes. Its likely your cable.
I haven't had any issues since I switched over to this wireless module:

Use them in all 3 cars. Tundra, Audi RS5, and Subaru Ascent.
Yes, thank you. I ended up buying this moog part on amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000C5A0H6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_C00XKX7RC5MKDJZ16YX4, and I would install it myself if I had the tools, but I'm gonna have my local mechanic install it instead.
I have the CD player mount. Works great. The drop and go is perfect for one-handed use. Hard to use phone in landscape mode if that matters to you.
Oil filter wrench and oil tool, this is the kit, some say only get the wrench but I'd rather have the siphon and oil fill adapter for up top too.

Mod wise maybe fog lights or trd grill if you're into that. Get a 20 or so thousand then worry about modification, I have a sr5 crewmax with the off road package and find myself happy with the performance of the truck off and on road. Exhaust is really just a noise maker and intake other than the trd see minimal gains.
I currently have this:
With this cupholder adaptor Which works but its super tight and sometimes pulls out the whole thing when grabbing the bottle.
Thoughts on if yours would work for that 50oz Camelbak? I think you said inside of yours is 96mm?
So far this is the best option I have found although it isn't the nicest looking or the cheapest
I’ve got this one: TruXedo TruXport Soft Roll Up Truck Bed Tonneau Cover | 273901 | fits 14-20 Toyota Tundra w/Track System 5'6" bed https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G4BXGR8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_GR6zFb5WECRNT
Easy install and it does what I need it to. Definitely wouldn’t stop someone from stealing something if they really wanted it, but it keeps the bed dry. I don’t leave much back there anyway and I don’t park my truck in any rough areas so security isn’t a big issue for me.

I ended up putting on aFe’s Mach Flow exhaust and am a big fan of it. Nice low rumble, and really gets some good volume when you stomp on it for some 1mpg action. I ordered it straight off Amazon along with some extra gaskets and bolt kits to replace stock exhaust.

I just bought them off Amazon. The main downside for me is they're an H1 bulb type socket, vs the stock H11 socket type. It comes with bulbs, but if you have LEDs or HIDs, you'll have to get a different bulb with the matching socket.
