Sigh, Have an upvote.
As for OP, the Machinery's Handbook is considered the bible on metal smithing and engineering. There's also Gunsmith Kinks which is in four volumes; lots of tricks, work arounds and general ways to improve and overcome firearm related issues and fixes.
Yes, its all expensive, but good resource and reference material always is. As for videos, just google/youtube and find someone who works for you.
Theres also /r/gunsmithing
Good luck!
With the new release of my written Gun Gide having been updated, ported to and now released on Rentry.co I thought it'd be best to post my newest version of my "Idiot's Guide to UK Mainland Legal Guns" infographic simultaneously.
Whilst it's more of a Hotfix than a revolutionary jump from the Version 1 Section 1 + Section 2 Infographic to what is now the "Idiot's Guide to UK Mainland Guns V1", it does have a few community suggested tweaks such as changing the Mosin to a Lee-Enfield, changing some of the phrasing used in Section 1 Firearms and Section 7 as well as adding a bit of extra polish to go along with the infographic, that in all honesty will be easy to miss without looking at it under mircroscope , as always criticism is always welcome!
However, until there is another major update, all "hotfix" level patches to the Infographic will be hosted on my Rentry.co page
The average UK citizen sees guns as "scary killing machines" because they've never known anything else. Some people might have shot an air rifle when they were a kid or something but very few people ever actually shoot or even get near a live firearm.
For that reason, it's largely a case of political suicide to come out and say "I support laxer gun control" because the vast majority of the population dislike firearms.
Note when I say "vast majority" I mean vast majority. The rate of firearms certificate (basically anything but a shotgun defined as holding no more than 2 cartridges and smooth-barreled plus a few other things) is 0.23% of the population with the rate slightly higher for shotgun certificates at 0.84% (NFLMS 2017 and Worldometers 2019).
I honestly can’t remember what mine is but I think it was probably a £40 Amazon one and it’s absolutely fine for me at 100, I’ve never used it at greater distances as someone else always had something posher or we had target markers
Edit it’s this one which cost me £36 in 2014

I use some of the plano boxes for my ready ammunition,
https://www.planostore.com/ammunition-boxes/plano-shot-shell-box-od-green
Not entirely waterproof, but probably fine in conjunction with a silica gel sachet like the link below.
They hold 4 x 25 boxes each, so you'd only need 3 of them for a slab.

Other than that, if I'm clay shooting, I normally just empty a box into my jacket pocket, if PSG then I have one of several PSG belts for the cartridges I need for a stage.
Just stick an MLOK pic rail on it to open up your options?
Or, use the two side MLOK slots for this
I have this on my Steyr and honestly it’s brilliant.
My personal recommendation would be to plump up a bit more for something like these. I’ve had 4 pairs for the last 8 years or so and a couple of the microphones have died but all remain very usable. I think they were closer to £35 when I bought them but I’ve never found any reason to upgrade them.
When I first got then I used to play airsoft, brilliant for cranking them all the way up and hearing people sneaking around 🤣
I'm using Vortex low mounts but you'll still need to use a cheek riser to use the scope. This is the one I have, it's actually pretty good quality for the money, I've had mine a few years now

I use these, which are about £12-20 (depending on where you buy them) www.amazon.co.uk/3M-Peltor-Optime-III-Defenders/dp/B000VDX18E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1443535997&sr=8-1&keywords=peltor+headset
Best passive ear defenders I could find.
