I had a PCR test result paper - the signature is just already printed on the certificate, the same as the Governor of the Bank of England's signature is printed on bank notes.
These companies flogging their PCR tests don't actually have a doctor on their premises with a pen in his/her hand.
Here's an insight into one of these companies to cheer you up:

That's nice to know, thanks. I've heard good things about wise.com too . I'm in India right now and can't deposit the USD in a bank unfortunately. I want to avoid a double conversion.
On a tangent, I got my student visa and I'm moving to the UK for three years. Which bank do you think will allow me to start an account with my residence permit?
I think they are all really a hit or miss. Nationwide pathology also has similar bad reviews in the last 24 hours https://www.trustpilot.com/review/nwp-online.co.uk?stars=1&stars=5
A few of my peers were recommended randox and my mate said she had good experience with expert medicals but upon checking the reviews online, both don’t seem any better than dante
Install Revolut, or Monzo.
It’s a virtual bank with multiple currencies. You can top it up once with a bigger amount. Convert the money in the currency you need and you’re good to go. You will need to order a card, but you will be able to start using the vietual card straight away with apple wallet/google play.
I personally use Revolut and its been great in any country I’ve travelled so far. If you decide going with Revolut, I have a referral link here if you want to use :)
I think you should be absolutely fine and can get a refund if you paid the £2.2k already for hotel - the hotels are off the cards now, from 4am tomorrow, and you go home and do a PCR by day 2 which you'll need to book to be able to complete your PLF. They're available at amazon for £35 or so here; https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09HN5KC8Q?&_encoding=UTF8&tag=heaforpoi-21&linkCode=ur2&linkId=a20fa0fdcbceed835a55a72af32f372c&camp=1634&creative=6738
Wise (fka TransferWise) has the best FX rates/lowest conversion fees. They have a debit card that draws on the “account” for the currency you’ve selected. https://wise.com/gb/travel-money/travel-money-card
In your case, of course, this would necessitate depositing your cash in a US bank and then making a transfer to Wise, but it might be worth doing, and it sounds like you’ve got time.
