Well, the ticket machines are mostly for tourists. Your average Varsiovian will have a long-term pass or buy tickets online (admitedly mostly the younger generation).

App I'm using to plan my public transport travels; convieniently it can also be used to buy tickets:
Mind you, tickets bought in an app need to be validated nowadays (QR code), which is a bit of a pain because they wanted to prevent abuse and made it really annoying to use (you have a limited time to do it - if you fail, you need to wait for a couple of minutes - and to the best of my knowledge this still counts as not having a valid ticket).
Yup, the free party at the National Stadium is a no-brainer.
As for food, you can try my all-time favorite restaurant in Warsaw called Maka i Woda (they serve Italian food). For good inexpensive Polish food, try Zapiecek.
BTW: use Uber to get around, much better than catching taxis and cheaper. Or dowload the "Jak Dojade" app and try public transport.
Enjoy!

I've been making some games as a hobby, published my android game bout half a year ago (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.randomGames.Cyborg).
I'm trying to focus on front end web dev now tho, but the game i linked and a few others were made in unity too.
Everyrhing i learned, i learned on my own and i'm pretty sure there's more ppl like that in warsaw. It'd be cool to somehow reach out to them and maybe create some kind of a community. Or at least go for a beer xd
Anybody into game dev or web dev, feel free to hmu. I feel like i could learn a lot from others and maybe work on some small projects together, idk.
