You can buy them on Amazon for $30. I love having it on a stand at all times, and I can fold it up and carry it in the same bag I carry my EWI in.
I have one of these.
https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-YDS-150-Digital-Saxophone/dp/B08JX3ZLTB
It's self-contained with a built-in speaker. I use it by plugging an iPad with my Youtube music subscription into the sax, then headphones also into the sax. I can hear the music and play along.
I used to be a semi-pro sax player so I have some context. While it's not the best electronic wind instrument available, for the relatively low price and the fact it does not need an external amp or tone generator it's something you should consider.
Hey I'm just starting out with hooking up EWI 5000 to CraftSynth too,
one piece of advice that has helped me is do a factory reset first on the EWI then go though the EWI sound editor and write all the settings down (boring bit before fun😉) as you can't save these outside the EWI - then when you start to fiddle with settings make a note so as you can put it back to where it was if it all gets wierd
Also I found this book really helpful https://www.amazon.com/Playing-EWI5000-Electronic-Instrument-2015-10-16-ebook/dp/B00RJL1GUQ/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=amen+zwa&qid=1603843982&sr=8-4
I've used one of these on various computers to talk to keyboards. No reason they should not work(??) on a USB enabled windsynth:
All new devices use USB rather than the old 5-pin din, which is considered obsolete.
I have Yamaha WX5 with old 5-pin din, so I use a cable with a built-in adaptor: Roland UM-ONE MK2. (I tried other cables, they didn't work or worked with problems).
The Roland cable works perfectly without any latency at all. I connect it to a laptop or to a smartphone (there are synth apps for mobiles), and no latency whatsoever.
You may only experience latency if you have a really old computer or if you use bluetooth instead of wires.
Yamaha WX5 has no built-on sounds. It's a pure MIDI controller such as the EWI USB.
EWI 4000s has built-in sounds and 5-pin din.
That's because it's a line output, i.e. it's mono.
You lose some of the nuances of stereo effects - I can't remember if that model uses stereo reverb/delay, but in that case, you may find that the sound is thinner compared to a full stereo out.
Instead, if you want to hear a mono sound to BOTH channels, you have to use an adapter - a 6.35 mm mono to 3.5 mm stereo. You plug your headphones into the 3.5mm and you should hear the sound on both channels.
Such adapters are so cheap you can try and keep it for future needs.

The above is a port of FluidSynth to Android that I use. It costs few bucks to unlock the low layency feature. Then, you shall download some soundfonts into it. I collected few soundfonts here: https://youtu.be/s9-6vtw3xWc
Fluidsynth is for sampled sounds. There should also be some real (electric sound). Search for "FM synth" or "midi synth" as keywords on Google Play and try some. I didnt try then myself.
This pool cue case fits it perfectly! Only comes in soft shell but has different color options. Hope that helps :)
I bought this one for my EWI USB, you just have to check size as the ewi solo is longer.

in EU it was even cheaper than that
Would something like this work well? I'm looking to spend in the $100-200 range and want something that is loud enough to stand out in jazz band

ive got one of these. the mouthpiece sticks out about an inch with my solo but thats fine with the cap on.
You can still get them brand new on Amazon Japan: https://www.amazon.co.jp/AKAI-ELECTRIC-WIND-INSTRUMENT-EWI4000s/dp/B000UTIJ0O
Price is actually reasonable, but I believe you need to pay for a re-shipper to get synth gear delivered outside of Japan. So it might wind up being a bit more expensive than you want.
I got mine on Amazon, supplied by Keimy Japan. They still have them on sale, but looks like the price has jumped since 2017.

As rhythm_and_sound said, the next best bet would be to check ebay for high rated sellers in Japan. I picked up a stand for my EWI on ebay just a little while ago.
