First, get any data you might need off of the pc. Get another computer from a friend or family member and an empty flash drive of at least 16gb. Search for “windows media creation tool”, and there should be a Microsoft website that will show up. Download that program and run it. Have it create a bootable media on the flash drive. Put the drive into that computer and spam f12, f10, f2, or escape. Try each day be separately, as the button to bring up the boot menu varies by manufacturer. Once you see the boot menu, select your flash drive from the available options. It will boot to a windows installation environment. Go through the steps until you get to a screen that looks like this. It may vary based on the number of drives, but it will be the same window. Select a drive and hit the format button. Do this for every drive. This will COMPLETELY erase the drive, with no possible way for the malware to be attached again. Then, select your main drive for the windows installation and hit continue. Finish and you will have a fresh install with no malware. I’d recommend AVG as a really solid free antivirus when you finish installing.
Turn off windows defender and install avg and run a full scan. Should be fine if it comes back clean. https://www.avg.com/en-us/free-antivirus-download
If all you are getting is results from chrome extensions just open chrome and look to see whats installed/enabled then check your programs list for wierd programs or ones without a publisher. If malwarebytes.and avg come.back clean i wouldnt take spyhunters word over theirs.
AVG is free forever and always.
I mean, as the free product is. https://www.avg.com/en-us/free-antivirus-download
Uncertain as to why all this hate towards Avast and AVG.
