Hey, that's the one. Thanks so much.
I was able to find this recording of it now. That had been bugging me for like 3 years. Ever since I first started watching the show.
>excellent production skills
Are you serious about this? It sounds like an OK song but I can't tell. The reverb is absolutely atrocious, it sounds like I'm in the backrow of a giant stadium where the only source is speakers from the stage. This is excessive, egregious and atrocious. I'm a noob and could seriously mix this to a whole other level if I got a hold of the tracks.
He almost reminded me of a Nada Surf song with a similar idea (hope you have adblock):

With the bassline and such. Notice how the vocals cut through the mix fine, the bass is there, the distorted guitar pleasantly present without some bullshit echo.
What makes this worse is the weird variance from different tracks. It makes no sense. MAYBE if he was going for some "ethereal" effect (which makes no sense given the tempo, but let's ignore that) it would be explainable if all tracks were in in sync. As if he had all tracks with 0 verb but the master mix had a century of reverb or whatever the hell setting he was aiming for. But its all over the place. Or maybe they're all in the same place but the mixing just seems off as the guitar sounds immediate, but the drums and voice sound like they're playing in a goddamn cathedral. I might sound mean but this could all literally be remedied by dialing a single setting down way back and re-uploading. It sounded kinda catchy but I couldn't continue to listening otherwise.
It's horrific production, no matter how you try to justify it. And I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard.
Think it's this fellow:

Go here and do a "seach on page" for his name and I think you'll get the show mp3:
