That's awesome and sounds a lot like what they're trying to do with crowdsourcer.io. Actually better (at least in my opinion) since your system is based on actual hours instead of estimated. Very interested to see how that works out. I myself log time with near-obsessive precision...
Not to be a debbie downer, but I have come across a project that does this as well since any revenue generated by the project could (theoretically) be passed onto contributors: crowdsourcer.io. While I like the Cyberbub approach, it doesn't really offer much more than GitHub issues and GitHub issues has less of a barrier to enter. While CrowdSourcer never reached critical mass, they attempted to build out something more unique. They wanted to incentivize good contributions. Their biggest downfall was... well... the money. They had a goal to allow people to become profitable, but that also meant the GitHub repos had to remain secretive. Which meant, I, as a contributor, had no ability to contribute to a project because the creator was too scared I would steal the code. Crowdsourcer claimed they would make it possible to contribute to portions of the code without getting all of the code. Some kind of twist on GitHub cli I guess. But it never showed up and I eventually left it behind.
So, long story, but I think Cyberbub should try to introduce a concept that pushes GitHub further. While I like the idea of joining a team, it makes the barrier of entry harder than GitHub. Maybe that's positive, but I don't know if I like the twist myself. Unless, of course, I can make money by joining a team and completing a project.
Hmm, I can't explain that one! Hopefully its a reddit issue but you can also find more details here: https://crowdsourcer.io/project/467
Our biggest need at the moment is for a technical artist in Unreal Engine. This is a smaller scale project that actually has a realistic chance of getting completed :)
Hey, there's a low poly project on Crowdsourcer.io looking for a 3D Artist, and it's being built in Unity. You can see if it interests you here: https://crowdsourcer.io/project/107
EDIT: It's a rev-share project.
