Actually now you can use D3DGear (http://www.d3dgear.com) game recording software to record Oculus Rift games. D3DGear is capable to recording Oculus Rift games directly from headset eye displays and save to stunning HD SBS stereoscopies movie natively. D3DGear also allows to stream broadcast Oculus Rift games and measure Oculus Rift games rendering frame rate in headset.
I can't help you with fixing this issue, but I can highly recommend a different recording software. Look up D3DGear. I used Shadowplay, Mirallis Action, Bandicam and a few others. D3DGear was the best for me. The settings are very minimal, but it gets the job done very well. - http://www.d3dgear.com/
I use D3DGear. It saves files smaller (More compressed) than Fraps. I have had some games crash because of PunkBuster thinking it is another Direct 3D game running and possibly a hack or cheat. They have fixed most modern games though. Also, once you purchase it, as I have, you get free lifetime updates through email. They send then about quarterly.
